  1. Many/most fans have accepted that losses currently are for the best ... many/most are looking for the tiny silver linings in those losses ... but I don't think anyone ENJOYS watching them suck.
  2. Ideally not better the 11th so they have a SHOT at #1 overall.
  3. Just as Edmonton blowing a ton of top 5 picks doesn't prove they are a bad thing to have, being unlucky to have a #3 pick in a weak draft (Galchenyuk) and making a poor selection (KK) doesn't prove the top end of the draft is a pure crap shoot ... admittedly the lower you go in the first round the greater role luck can play (i.e., teams allowing a player to slip who should not have) but it always remains a matter of teams (GMs, Director of Scouting, scouts, etc.) making the right selection ... come third round onwards I would say it becomes more of a crap shoot as you are generally selecting between better all-round players who usually will be bottom half of the roster players at best or players with top half of the roster potential but with one or more a weaknesses that will likely sink them. BTW - by "top half" I mean top 6 forwards, top 3 defencemen and a starting goalie
  4. THAT is not good news ... Price got bumped last night but it didn't look like a serious hit ... but for it to be an emergency recall I believe they must have no other goalie physically able to dress tonight.
  5. I know very well that Fertitta/Houston have serious interest ... and apologies to the Allen family, I forgot he passed away ... the reference was to the fact that despite his express lack of interest Portland/Allen was thrown out as an expansion/transfer site almost every time the subject came up for many, many years.
  6. And what a great call ... "rather gingerly" RIP Guy ... thanks for the thrills and the memories
  7. Unless Paul Allen reverses decades of disinterest and decides he wants an NHL team, I expect it is the best option.
  8. Since March 13th (19 games) Toffoli has 3 goals and 6 assists ... cooled off a little from the 8g, 4a in his first 13 games.
  9. After tonight's game MSL will NOW have to make a decision ***IF*** Price wants the net Saturday in Ottawa ... better for him to "get back on the horse" or take a step back and get some rest.
  10. After all the goals that Gallagher has had cancelled the Habs get away with one that should not have counted.
  11. I think things may have started better with MB vis-a-vis the alumni but I don't know how long it lasted ... by March 2016 Guy Lafleur made the rather scathing "The way I look at it right now, there’s no first line, second line, third line. I think they have four fourth lines" assessment of MB's roster.
  12. After a bit of a d-zone miscue early-ish in the game the RDS guys were commenting that they didn't know what his future was with the habs, or in the NHL ... that he has all the tools but just doesn't seem to be able to put them together when he gets a chance.
  13. Not certain that a maximum of 7 games in 15 days, no back-to-backs, to end the season constitutes "grinding" ... ***NOT*** suggesting it is necessarily a good idea but could see Price wanting to do it ... and if he remains healthy I suspect they would let him if he asks.
  14. The question is becoming when will Price decide to take a game off? With Allen out and Montembeault playing/available through an injury that has been rumoured to require minor surgery whenever his season is done, it wouldn't shock me if he wants all the games ... the games are every second night, except vs NYR which is on a third night, so barring any negative reaction injury-wise he would seem capable of doing it.
  15. I agree that PRICE, the Big 4 and timely scoring (primarily) earned the playoff run ... but the miracle was (IMO) making the playoffs ... in the last 15 years a .527 points percentage only came within one point of making the playoffs once, and otherwise it was usually not really close ... in a make-shift division where two 19/20 playoff teams absolutely CRASHED (Flames and 'Nucks dropped .075 and .119 in Pts% respectively) the Habs .527 snuck in ... it was legit in terms of the rules of the day, but miraculous in the context of history.
  16. Well ... he looks dominant while he is all by himself
  17. I believe he signed after the deadline to be on Laval's roster in order to be eligible for the playoffs.
  18. Cap space is precious ... otherwise teams wouldn't make trades like that
  19. Was it Dauphin who thought it was a good idea to go retrieve a stick from the bench and leave Fail so alone that he made out his shopping list before he got the pass leading to his goal?
  20. And for others it is possible to separate the two.
  21. If/when it happens, I'll look more at games played than seasons.
  22. If any NHL team is looking for a new backup goalie
