  1. i think recent history shows that Jagr and Morrow are in fact tradeable, very easily i might add.
  2. ahh yes... but, then MB would have to move moen,DD and or Gio for picks or a 2/3 for 1 trade in order to upgrade the lineup or get the salary cap down. we will be a team better situated. we would be sitting in a nice cap position going into next season with money to spend and gally and galchenyuk ready for top 3/ top 6 minutes! roster spots open. UFA's like jagr and morrow on 1 or 2 year deals are no brainers in asset mangement sign UFA briere, jagr, morrow. thats 3 definite no questions asked tradable assets. opens door for trades to upgrade the team or sell back for more picks.
  3. bourque plex jagr patches briere DD galchenyuk eller gallgher morrow white prust moen parros gio**(injured) bold= not small seems to me like a pretty damn good offense... a little mix of everything and a team that could with stand even a few injuries. as long as both jagr and morrow can be signed with no perks like NM clauses we should spend the 4.8 on the 2 guys... why not? its like buying draft picks
  4. agreed i still cant believe guys are calling Jagr washed up... he's +40 and still playing well... sure he no longer is the best player in the world but he is still a damn good hockey player and one of the toughest guys to get a puck off of. there is zero cons to not having one of the all time greats on your team even if for 1 year! leBlanc is not even close to being a poor mans bergeron. patrice is one of the best centers in hockey and team canada's #2!
  5. were soft and small on the back end as stated. not as soft as some people suggest up front... remember that soft and small are 2 different adjectives. gallagher is small not soft. briere is small not soft. i just think 1 more move like a possesion guy like jagr or a gritty prust like player like morrow and the team is much more balanced up front then we think! on the back end though serious work needs to be done
  6. morrow to mtl is interesting. he battled with subban and prust late in the season. bourque plex gionta** patch briere DD galchenyuk eller gallagher prust white Moen Parros (is what we got now) i think all this talk that we are soft and small up front might be blown out of proportion. ideally 50% of our existing lineup are not "soft" if you move prust up to the 3rd line and insert parros we move to more then half our forwards including the toughest pound for pound fighter in prust as well as one of the heavy weights in the league. not to mention gallagher and briere dont play a small game. then add a gritty morrow or a puck possesion beast like Jagr .... interesting to say the least! i really would like us to pull the trigger on Jagr as i cant help but wonder if he'll be that missing piece and help add a healthy 10/15 pts to plex's game and make him the selke candidate we all now he should be i think the defense is soft and small though. we missed the bus on scuderi! i cant stop praying that tinordi is ready for big minutes with subban and emelin returns to form allowing gorges (heart of a lion but strong as a peacock) #5/6 minutes with diaz. gorges is just way to soft to play in the #4 spot. we need someone who can stay home make a first pass and clear the net and allow subban to be PK subban. tinordi subban markov emelin** (gorges) diaz boullion drewskie **doubtful to start the season
  7. are we still debating if you lobbyed for chris stewart and or clarkson. thank the heavens we didnt overpay for clarkson on a 7 year deal as by year3 of the deal this entire site would be saturated with clarkson threads calling for his head and MB's for that matter. move on
  8. who said the habs and their fans dont respect their eternal rivals in boston? i think you can hate a team or player but still respect them. the boston montreal rivalry goes so far back..... our mutual hate for each other is what makes our rivalry what it is. hate and respect are different. ask all of buffalo, vancouver ottawa and toronto if they hate the bruins just as a small sample size...... your 99% is a tad off
  9. armstrong was real good i thought as well. here's hoping we get big performances out of the both of them as they are competing for one position when our team gets over this injury bug
  10. if ott can win games without anderson, karlson spezza and michalek im sure we can do the same without eller patch gio and emelin. inspired hockey is what we need and lights out defending and goaltending!! Price's moment is now!
  11. i dont think mixing up all 4 lines is the answer. we played very well overall tonight in all aspects of the game just didnt get the goals. anderson steals game 1. price needs to play some inspired hockey now in game #2 diaz seemed to struggle a bit tonight as well gorges
  12. so now what? does armstrong draw in prust galchenyuk gallagher armstrong white moen or halpern to centre the kids and leave the 4th? id like to see prust galchenyuk gallagher (with prust taking the draws) armstrong halpern moen (even though white played ok)
  13. there is also alot of good content on canadiens.com >> go to habsTV>> 24CH
  14. actually, toronto is playing horrible hockey right now and there team is not rolling. after we gifted them a victory NJ exposed them all over the ice and they were completly outplayed only to have reimer steal the game. that was followed by 2 losses while being outplayed and and then another hammering by OTT only to have reimer steal another one. TO is a good team with some exceptional goaltending right now but thats it! we shouldnt fear them and i believe people dont want to play them because of the fear of losing to the leaf fans more so the team. we are just as good and you have to think carey will sooner or later shake out of this funk! or at least im hoping! btw im pretty sure boston has dropped like 4 of 5 as well. every team in the NHL has gone through a 6/7 game slump outside of CHI. it just so happens ours is now and ends before the playoffs. better now then game 1!!!!!!
  15. will be very interesting to see if diaz and markov can rekindle the chemistry they clearly had on the PP to 5on5 play.... Also, it seems that ever since i called out galchenyuk on several occasions in march that he needed to up his play to keep his spot in the top 9 once everyone was healthy, he has done exactly that! he's now playing with much more vigor and purpose....... next up pacioretty....... step up mr. max! tonights your night! throw the freakin body every chance you get and attack the net! attack the net! attack the net!
  16. i dont think anyone can honestly say TO is more jacked for this game then us... and if so we got serious problems moving forward! its like playoff hockey down the stretch! the habs want the division bad and if they can beat TO twice to end the season it will go a long way in doing soa s well as put a dent in there playoff hopes.... not to mention all the playoff talk leading into this game.... nation wide HNIC on sat night! The habs want this game just as bad any one saying different is simply playing a cop out card!
  17. this fate was inevitable the moment he went down.... so drewiske is in now and beaulieu gets an unexpected playoff ride! i guess as soon as the bulldogs season is over tinordi will be called up as well.
  18. dion was that good in cowtown because his partner was a younger "at the time" former 1st rounder who was always under appreciated....... Roman Hammmerlik. he logged some serious minutes in MTL with markov out. i just wonder how this team would be shaped if markov was healthy last year. we probably still have spacek and cammy and...... the goat! also, jose theo's demise came after he got off the juice!
  19. totally agree.... but like i said 2 years 5 million per i would do!
  20. norris or not i think MB was going to pay him lke the top 3 defender that he is give or take the day or alignment of the moon! karlson subban suter weber letang not neccessarily in that order
  21. 5years is long he's 32 now. i dont think GM's will throw 5 million at him at age 37-38.
  22. theres alot on the market this off season but outside of iggy, ryder might actually be the best sniper out there. 5 of 8 seasons 25+ goals 3 of 8 seasons 30+ goals 2 seasons in BOS played on there checking line and still managed 18 goals per.he was a key contributor in their Stanley Cup run he's known to score big goals at key moments only bad season was his final season in MTL where he knew he was done there and played as such. he even mentioned it in his ride from the airport on 24CH. I would give him 2years @ $4 million but go as high as $5. 33-34yrs old. that's the longest and why not?? he's are leading scorer(tied) and led dallas the year before as well. he's a good hockey player.
  23. i think when carboneau left it was a transition if i remember... muller. when he left mid season keane became captain with turgeon in there as well. but the last 5 captains of montreal gio saku damphousse carbonneau gainey savard for sure
  24. neither ellis or pateryn are ready for the NHL let alone playoff hockey! pateryn was iffy in reg season action can you imagine him in a 7 gamer? right now we need to get diaz skating again and on advil ASAP.
