  1. +I watch him all the time in Edmonton. We don't want him. I like SK way more.
  2. Korneev was paired with Gonchar on the PP last night. I wasn't overly impressed with his play. Think he'll ever cross the pond? Weber had a horrible game against the US yesterday. Many defensive blunders in the second and couple bad penalties if I remember right.
  3. PK's style makes me a little nervous. He will get caught and he will get booed. There is no question. He is fun to watch though. I think we finally have a right handed stud defenseman in the making.
  4. I still think Carle was very good in the NHL. I was very surprised when they sent him down.
  5. I like Hammer a whole bunch. He has been a very good signing. Waaaaay better than Souray has for the Oilers, I just think that 5.5 million would hit the spot for getting Plek and Halak and Price and Pouliot signed. His one year contract could be ditchable. My ideal situation would be to see him dealt before the trade deadline. It would have to be for 5.5 million worth of players. Or close to it. Prefferably guys that are in the final year of their contract. Either that or we could pull a murray and deal a few 2 and 3 million dollar guys for picks. That's how he freed up the cash for Heatly. Sent 3 guys to Vancouver for picks and prospects. Just a salary dump.
  6. It's a team doctor thing. If the Habs team doctor says he can't play, then he can't play, but Russia will still let him try it out for the olympics. Andre might play too. He is close to ready. I think that's what i heard anyway. Something like that
  7. I would be trying to trade Hammer. This will prove very dificult, but he only hasa year left after this. Trade him for a guy in his last year of his contract. Equal money per year. That frees up a lot of cap space for the next year. Spacek will be better on the left side. I really believe that.
  8. You guys are getting a little excited. This team has been more injured than last year. I think all in all Febuary was a tough month and I think the team did OK considering their roster. They made it achieveable to make the playoffs when Cammie, Pouliot, and Kostitsyn get back. That's a lot of our scoring. I was hoping they would split the home at home, but I remember looking at Febuary before it happened thinking, "Wow, what a tough month. Canucks, Boston twice, Flyers twice, Washington, Pittsburgh." I still don't really like the over all team. I have seen too many games against strong defence stymied because our talented forwards are just too small. But I think they have done well considering injuries. No team succeeds when they have injuries like we have. We went from 1st to 8th in one year. A big part of that was injuries. Boston is going through the same thing. The team was healthy last year, and the young guns were confortable in their roles. This year they are being asked to do more and can't get it done. As for PK, I was very impressed by his heart and confidence. However, I saw someone a little scarey when he has the puck in our zone. Talented forwards will pick up on his confidence to buzz the front of his own net when he's under pressure and they will own him. It was nice to see that JM did not bench him after these high risk plays. He actually gave him more ice time. I personally would like to see him go back to Hamilton and finish the season. Guy Boucher sounds like a very smart man and I would like him to go for a Calder cup run.
  9. moore has a good faceoff percentage. He's pretty good defensively and he will probably be cheap next year. I'm hoping he is the start of a shutdown line, which, unlike a lot of you guys, I think this team really needs. This team needs a shutdown line with some guys that can step up and help out when there are injuries, and they need some better skating defensemen so Hill Gill can settle back into 6th or 7th D where he belongs. I' agree that a 2nd rounder is a bit rich but man, you guys are getting a little dramatic don't you think? I have personally been crying and wishing this team had a shutdown line and a centre that could win a freakin faceoff once in a while. I like Moore. I always have. It is a little rich though.
  10. he practiced today and he's good to go.
  11. With teams that have defensive holes they can play like that. With teams that are sound defensively, the oompa loompas up there just get shoved around. I wish they could play agressive forecheck every game. I'm all for the slower entry and limiting stretch passing so you have forward support in your own zone and the neutral zone, but when you are in their zone, ya gotta press.
  12. THIS Have a look at Jonathan Quick. WHO? Exactly. He is the 24 year old goalie who nobody has heard of in LA. He is playing amazing right now. He also played a solid chunk of his last few years in the minors developing. This is the normal route a goalie takes. I will not hang Price until the end of 2012. When he is 24. Until then, he is developing nicely. But decisions need to be made on how well he plays. I don't expect him to get a huge raise next year. If he gets a raise at all.
  13. If you are talking about the Backstrom goal then you are confused. The player that shoots almost twice as much as any other player recieves a tape to tape pass is alone in the slot I think I would expect a shot. The pass by OV to Backstrom was beautiful as was the finishing play. I can't fault Carey for that goal. Like I said. The last two were weak. That is bad. I believe Halak would have kept the Habs in this one for a regulation win. I like him a lot. I am not a supporter or cheerleader or hater or whatever crap you guys say. I call em as I see em. Carey F%$^ed up tonight and his team bailed him out. But consider the opponent and be happy for once.
  14. Was that the first goal. That was not Price's fault. Laich destroyed everyone on the way in and deked Price out of his shorts. Thats it. Anyway, I'm done with this junk. Nice win by the Habs against the best offense in the NHL!
  15. Halak is the better goalie right now. Price still needs work, but looked good tonight other than the two softies. HALAK GIVES UP TOO MANY REBOUNDS! Too argue that is insane. Halak is better and is further along in his developement. Price is doing very well when compared with other top tier goaltenders at this age and developement. HALAK GIVES UP A LOT OF REBOUNDS! He just does. How can you argue that he doesn'? I still have faith in him back there more than Price. but to say his save percentage is not skewed because many of his saves are on second and third shots? I am so sick of this conversation. We have two good young goaltenders who are in different phases of developement. Halak is doing a hell of a job taking the bulk of the work while lifting some responsibility from Carey's shoulders so he can develope. The team stepped up tonight and helped Carey out to get the win, but to be fair, he made a pile of crazy good saves. The last two goals should have been saves by a good goalie, but in case none of you guys looked, the team they played against has outscored their opponent by a wide margin. Like 35 more total goals than 2nd in goals. Highest goals for differential in the league. Coming off 14...THAT'S 14 STRAIGHT WINS against some strong opponents and all you guys can rant about is goalies?
  16. Fact , he let in two soft goals. 4 and 5.
  17. Unfortunately Carey is good for one bad goal tonight. The last goal should have been saved. Really the 4th too. He cheated a look at the winger instead of playing the shooter
  18. The Ovie hit goal should have counted. Gill had the puck in his feet and was looking for it. OV destroyed him and pushed Gill, the puck, and Price into the net. Explain the call on that. Hey I'll take the no goal, but I can't think of a rule to explain why it wasn't a goal. Gill never actually touched the puck, so maybe player interference. OV kinda made contact with Price, but the puck had crossed already. Musta been it, but I think the puck crossed before that.

  20. 5 minutes till conference. I am a little sad in a way. I like BG.
  21. Ya, I actually think right now is the time to NOT pick a goalie.
  22. Ya who knows. Maybe Gomer was in the Kovy package and he found a way to shed the contract. It failed, he saw no way to sign Plek Price and Halak without making radical moves so decided to let someone else who was gonna stay make the radical moves.
  23. I really don't think there is reason to have a negative opinion of him. He had a winning record and his teams made the playoffs in 4 of his 5 years as GM. He hired a lot of quality people and the organization is healthier now, than it was before he got here, in my opinion. The team still needs some tweaking, but it does not need an overhaul like it did when he arrived. I was obviously hoping for more, but really I gage his success on my personal passion for the team. In the last 5 years, I have grown more passionate and optimistic about this team. I get more excited about games and have some hope. Pre Gainey, I did not have this level of enthusiasm. Why? They were horrible and had no hope!
