Why should Price get a raise? He has shown low consistency and so far has not earned one. I think it could be done. This team has a lot of money tied up on defensemen too, but the system has a lot of good defensemen. Weber and Carle are NHL calibre and close to NHL ready. Subaan should be a stud. They should bring some cheap relief at the back end.

Ummmm, Pleky? 40 pts? holy crap? when's the last time a habs was 2nd in assists and 6th in points? Half way through the year. if Pleky is not signed, gainey should just quit instead of waiting to be fired.

No player in the Habs roster is untouchable. Except for Markov. Unless it was straight across for Chara. If Price could bring a young superstar, trade him. It ain't gonna happen. If Halak can't bring in a solid top 6, you keep him and play him a little more. sign him as rfa and trade up the draft with him or Price in June. The last thing Gainey should do is trade Halak for a 3rd liner. This team has a farm full of 3rd 4th liners,

The thing is it isn't Gainey giving anybody games. Martin has played the goalie that he thought could win the game. Halak was great early in the season when Price was shaky. Price played some great games and then started letting in softies, so he started Halak. He started Halak a few times while Price was hot, and Halak's rebound control was horrible. After last night, i expect Halak will play more in the near future. The goalie that Martin has chosen game by game, has seemed logical enough to me.

If you look at the NHL.com stats page, you will see that the Habs and Rangers are the only two teams in the top 10 in PK and PP. That's nice to see. also in the league leaders stats, Pleky is 4th in assists league wide. Mid season, that is impressive.

Regarding Gomez, i totally agree. I'm a oilers fan too, being in alberta. horcoff makes 6 mill. like holy bad contract!

other coaches have a book on this team, and it ain't good. use speed in our zone. force our slow "D" to draw penalties....Win.
