  1. The center ice package says it's blacked out? Do you mean the TV center ice package or the internet? I normally get the RDS feed if it's not televised elsewhere. You making me nervous about missing the game. I would hate to watch the leafs and Sens instead.
  2. If you have the nhl center ice package, games are only blocked out in the home teams market. So if the game is being televised on any station you will get it if your not in the home team blackout area. Or atleast i think that's how it goes. I get all the habs games, sometimes even the french local broadcasts only. I do live in Colorado so therefore i am always outside the home team market.
  3. Gorges already outplayed Bouillon and Dandy. The job should be his. I hope Carbo isn't turning into a Julien. BG gets him good youth players and they sit? No reason Gorges and Chipchura should be sitting.
  4. Well it's a good thing they kept Chipchura. He'll do alot sitting on the stands.
  5. Remember, Huet is very streaky also. I wouldn't be surprised if all three goalies play alot. Totally agree about Kovalev, a leopard can't change his spots. Hamrlik will be fine. Bouillon and Dandy are irrelivant to everyone EXCEPT the Habs brass. How they have jobs is beyond me. Ryder will be moved. Unfortunately i agree about finishing around 10. The players have to prove me wrong before i'll start thinking of them as contenders. There roster is younger and better, so i think there is a chance to make the playoffs but i need to see it .
  6. I don't really care where we are ranked. 3 things need to change, if they do, i think the wins will take care of themselves. All i want to see this year is 1. Much better work ethic. Every shift every game. 2. STOP the amount of stupid hooking and holding penalties. 3. 5 on 5 has to get better. If those 3 things happen I'llbe very satisfied and the playoffs will be there at the end of the year.
  7. Huet's i'm sure will debut in the opener. Price is making good money now, he can afford a new mask.
  8. By the way, Price needs a new mask. That one doesn't really work with the Habs.
  9. It is up to management to sign there best players. That is there job, who cares what year of his contract he is in. If he is ready he should play. Fluery is doing just fine, i beleive he came up when he was 19. When players are coming to thew age of UFA, that is why GM's make or break the team. This is the same for Lats, Price, Chipchura or any other UFA.
  10. Thanks for comfirmation JMMR. I have no idea why those 2 clowns still have jobs.
  11. No place lfor guys like that on the Habs? I'm not sure what that means? This team now is a little too soft, IMO. i would have kept Lapierre. You may be right Spider Man but the last 10 years this team has been very small and soft and they haven't went anywhere, and often can't compete with bigger teams. I think contracts is why O'Byrne didn't make it. From what posters and reports i have read Gorges, Streit and O'Byrne have all outplayed Bouillon and Dandy.
  12. I hope your right on losing those 2. I have been a big Carbo supporter on this board but proclaiming Brisby the match for Hamrlik is just stupid. He has played all of 1 game since last December. Gorges and Streit have both outplayed Bouillon and Dandy. I thought he said it was a competition. If you a better then the ohter guy and you play, that is favortism, not competition. GC is starting to look like Julien. Only playing a few players he trusts know matter how many times they fail. Oh well, maybe i'm wrong on that but what can you do. Hopefully he is smarter then me when it comes to the defense.
  13. Hossa? He is a fringe player with the Rangers. How did the Habs get burned on that? They got what they wanted, a tough griity player with some size. Murray isn't the best but he does his job. I agree about the trade of Halak + Ryder to get something better. I say they need a top line LW. Why? If they move Ryder, Kovalev can move up to the top line with Koivu, Higgins moves back with Pleks and Kosty, habs best line down the stretch last year. Then you get another LW to play with Kovalev and Koivu. I like the 3rd and 4 th line combos.
  14. Yep, that's why those guys are gone. I get bashed for calling out Koivu on leadership as well but where i think he is a really good player, heart of a lion, great person and team mate, i just don't see him as a great leader. Leadership is also why i think Chhipchura makes the cur as well.
  15. Souray was the worst plus minus man in the league for Dmen. He took dumb penalties, normally after the whistle, trying to act tough. He was horrible in his own end, poor skater, poor passer. Everyone always brings up 1 play when Koivu got dropped, there were many more incidents where he was challenged and skated away. His slap shot was grade A and scored many goals, i give him credit for that. Prediction: He will be minus 20+ in Edmonton and not score 20 goals.
  16. Yes, Markov leads by example on the ice. Who cares what he says off the ice. You wonder why as many said on this board that Rivet and Souray were such great leaders they were let go, i would argue because they never put there money where there mouth was. On the ice they did very little to lead the team. Higgins and Markov bring it on the ice, which for once is very nice to see. A little less talking and more playing, that would be music to my ears. I am a still a little sceptical because of the last 10 years. So let's hope the new leadership turns the team around.
  17. Oh please, goons are fine, both players dropped there gloves and one guy was tougher then the other. How did i know this would turn to an anti fighting thread. Downie was a cheap shot and he left his feet. 15 games is about right. Plus McGratton will but a beating on him when they play next. If you don't like fighting, watch figure skating.
  18. That is actually a pretty good line, Lats Lapierre and Smoke. 2 faceoff guys, gritty, hard working, can put up some points and 2 are very good defensively. Begin Chipchura Kostopolous is a good 4th line.
  19. I wouldn't keep either one. There are better younger D ready to play right now. Dandy can play both D and forward, great speed, and before joining the Habs he was a winner. So i just think he brings more to a team. Bouillon just doesn't bring anything to the table. 12 points and a minus 8 or something isn't that hard to find in a D man. Especially at his price. Bouillon has been waived twice and only the Habs think he has value.
  20. I totally agree with that, I think you may be able to trade Dandy and Ryder. Bouillon, Kovalev and the one other one will be difficult to move for a variety of reasons.
  21. Yep, i agree, but there still a hand full of players bringing the team down, not playing hard or not buying into the system.
  22. Or hhire someone to teach these guys how to win a fight, play hard for 60 minutes, play with a lead and teach these guys how NOT to take stupid penalties. Then they will be set.
  23. Thanks BTH, I would much rather have Gorges then Bouillon. Younger, better skater, smarter, not as tough on the boards.
  24. I bneleive in the pre season games Lapierre played in he was his usual agitating self, plus he has a couple of goals. I doubt he'll lose his spot, GC used him in many key situations last year. Compared to so many who let him (GC) down, Lapierre never did.
