I will name one RFA that would change the face of this team. David Booth. (Martin knows him a lot) And there are more players like that Versteeg, Zajac, Kessel... My wishlist would be Zajac and Booth signed with offer sheet. Cammalleri as a free agent. Tanguay re-signed. The money would be better spent there in my opinion. I would say even overpay for them. Booth- Zajac- Max Pac Tanguay-Cammelleri- Latendresse It would be a respectable top six.

Gainey making a major move before the team being sold is a surprise. Gainey, Timmins, Gauthier, Martin, Lemaire etc are heavyweight management. I would like to be impress by their decision this summer. And it's a good start: New head coach before the draft, no more Melanson, no more part- time Livingston. Don't get me wrong i do not like Martin neither i do like Gainey but they have the chance to do something good as a committee of hockey minds.

+ Oduya is swedish. It's a plus value these days. And he can skate and make a first pass in the same sequence.

For his last active days as a coach and gm, the coach Bob Gainey, the mastermind behind the 5 year plan decided to sink with his decisions. He is no idiot. He is making a last stand. A stand to all the decision he took on his GM term. He though he could save the year by going behind the bench, by so he had to fire his better acquisition in his master plan: Carbonneau. I do not say that, i repeat what he said before in press conference. Maybe he had no choice of firing Carbonneau. We will know later. But he has a choice of choosing who his goalie will be for his last game. All his plan started with a franchise goalie. Not only the decision to draft the Price, the decision to rush him in the league, the decision to give him the number one job without deserving it. Because he believes in him. I think it would be very sad for Gainey to lose this game tonight. Because as i see, it his plan is a total failure. Winning tonight would give him a chance to end this horrible nightmare season away from a frustrated crowd.

Why does every goal deserves a goat ? The guy whos scores deserves the credit. Higgins shot was good enough to go in good effort by Metropolit there to distract defense and goalie. Kessel acted on instinct to deflect that puck. A fraction of a second and he put the stick for deflection. Hope to see similar action in period 2, it's a fun game to watch.

LHJMQ undrafted players of late 19 20 years old are more and more popular for the scouts. Without having much power play time players cannot sell themselves at age 17-18. We had Desharnais, Beauregard and now Masse. They are all better players than Olivier Fortier who is strictly a defensive forward with no weight to throw around. For myself i would change the allowed age to be drafted by the NHL at 19 years old. Most of top prospects make it right to the NHL now and junior teams are missing top players to full their building, and it does influence players around them too being notice. Drafting an 18 years old is way too risky, NHL should have learn that by now.

As much as the habs were overrated at the very beginning of this hockey season as much they are underrated before these playoffs. If i must remind you people, there are some tangibles that will affect this serie. Some positives that tells me we will come back in Montreal with at least with one win. Offensively -The artist is back. -Koivu always plays his best in playoffs, more so he will start the serie well rested and injury free. - Schneider shot - Tanguay is a playoff beast - Third line - Higgins plays the best 2 way hockey of his career. He finally found his role. - D'Agostini! He is gonna be the Thomas black beast. Defensively - Komisarek found his game, he will play his best in the physical games - Hammer, Schneider, Dandenault ,Breezer have ton of experience they will do the job. - Markov will be ready at least for game 3 and the srie will be tied. Price : He is back at the level he was before he got sick. Anyone who watched the game against Pittsburg saw it.
