  1. good news is that with Lecavalier, Briere, most likely brad Richards and a few other guys bought out, it will take the attention away from guys that we really want....like Clarkson and Bickel and Clowe. If we could free some cap space by moving Markov and/or DD for Picks, there is no reason why we can't get two of these guys. plus a guy like Nystrom, or Hendricks. Galchenyuk Eller gallager Pacioretty Plekanec Clarkson Bickel Prust Gionta Moen Nystrom White Fear......Fear... Fear
  2. Hey everyone, I haven't posted in a while but I have been checking the conversations around here. I have been hearing quite a bit about moving Markov lately and to put in my two cents, (which is actually rounded down in Canada now) I think that now is the time to do it. We finally have the option of moving him, and his value will never again be as high as it is right now. Edmonton is looking to shake things up (first round pick, but we would probably have to take Horcoff back, think about it how good would Darnel Nurse look with PK), Philly is practically begging for Dmen (first round pick, or a bigger deal for Simmons). Calgary just because Feaster is gullible (First rounder straight up) There are solid options out there right now for a defender of Markov's caliber, and if I were MB I would definitely be exploring them I think we could move into the top ten in the draft if we play our cards right
  3. we are a team that doesn't play well against a big Defensive group. Teams like the Bruins, Leafs, and now the Sens have a very large and physical D core. (Methot was a beast against us). No bodies in front of the net and Anderson between the pipes = out in five games. our own D group is the exact opposite of this; Smallish, skilled guys. I dont mean to sound like a broken record but we need to add skilled size in every position. Until that happens we wont be able to really compete in the playoffs.
  4. Welcome aboard....you will find some real great contributers in these forums....and I'm not talking about myself
  5. feaster is just terrible.....nuff said
  6. I think Briere is done for the year anyways....so its a moot point
  7. for what its worth Ek says were going hard after Morrow
  8. Pomm is just not the type of player we need.....with Ryder, Bourque, prust and Diaz coming back in the next couple of weeks I think we will be fine.. lines would be something like this... 67 - 51 - 73 17- 14 - 21 27- 81 - 11 20 - 53/8 - 8/32 we have a lot of guys that can move up and down the line up Prust/Ryder/Gally/Chucky/Gio.....these guys can all play on basically any line I would keep Bourque/Plecs together and patches/Desh together everything else is a matter of who is hot. although I would like to see Gio swapped for a bigger body so we could insulate Plecs a little better, i wouldn't mortgage any young prospects for the short term unless that player was under a reasonable contract. However that being said,I would love to have Foligno from Buffalo, for maybe Leblanc +
  9. so you are saying its a good thing that I cant watch this game right now?
  10. i cant watch the game, there is a big storm in Niagara right now and my Bell dish will not pick up any reception.......
  11. Yeah alright....time to dust off the old Ryder Jersey (I've always like the way the name looks on a Habs jersey)......now if we could just get Higgins back I can wear all my jerseys again. Welcome Back Mikey..... I think he will look really good beside Eller and Galchenyuk, from the past couple of games I've noticed that line gets alot of chances off the rush.....which is perfect for Ryder's ability to finish. He has a great shot, and both Eller and chucky can get him the puck on the rush. I really dont think that we lose that much by swaping the two, with the extra cap space and pick its a no brainer, lets face it guys we are not going to win the cup this year but in 2-3 years we will be ready......good show MB
  12. I sure hope so, we cant afford to rely on Cole to provide the lost offence
  13. i was at this game tonight.....really fun in the third but the rest was kind of so-so. Tinordi and beaulieu both looked good at times, but Gallager was on a mission in the third. it was a lot of fun
  14. Glorieux, it sounds like Gloria if you say it fast....great name for a dog
  15. I am going to be going quite a bit this year, regardless of an NHL Lockout...but probly way more if there is a lockout
  16. why would we do this? we finally get a Blue chip blueliner, why would we trade him?
  17. Dont get me wrong I really loved Kovalev in Montreal and think he should have retired a Hab (I wasnt kidding when I said I loved seeing him fly around with his helmet off making other players look stupid). But do you really think that Semin will succeed under Therrin? I wouldnt take the chance if I could get Doan for the same money and with the young team we are going to have that 10% of character is going to be very important.
  18. why do I feel I am gonna get bitched at for coming down hard on Semin?
  19. there is a reason that Semen hasnt signed yet...for the kind of money he is likely demanding there is really no garantee of what player you are getting from night to night. a la Kostitsyn or Kovalev I am not saying that he isnt skilled but just very enigmatic, he just seems like the kind of player whose productivity depends on his happiness. in my opinion... Semin (baking soda) + Therrien (vinegar) = percieved dressingroom problems= too much media coverage = drama = not worth it where as a situation like... Doan (chocolate) or Leblanc (Graham cracker) + Therrien (marshmello) = a way better senario (fond memories of a my childhood) I know I am comparing apples and oranges but all these are options right now. I am not trying to be an ass, but are you being serious or are you kidding? Because this is not what I think about when I think Alex Semin.
  20. please no semin...please my heart just cant take another floater. we just got rid of Kostitsyn for ######s sake at least Kovy had the hair, i swear every time his helmet came off (once a game) I was seeing visions of Lafleur out there, it was glorious.
  21. I would do this deal....we get a useless player for a usefull player, done deal. never gonna happed tho....nobody is that dumb.....oh wait isn't feaster throwing money at players like Wideman. maybe there is hope
  22. I think in the current situation it is reasonable to expect LL to stick with thte team and all other prospect go to Hamilton for seasoning. I dont believe any of our young guys will make an impact in the NHL this year, and I think managment knows this as well. Let them grow as a team under less pressure in Hamilton. Then when the time is right (ie. when Gomez and Kaberle and Gionta's contracts come off the books) bring up the pieces that seem ready and use the money we will have to get some real star talent to compliment them. If we happen to suck in the mean time, well an extra top 10 pick wont hurt either. for now I will definatly be driving up to hamilton to watch a few bulldogs games this season......
