  1. He was asked to skate to Dallas. We all know his speed. He's just getting out of Montreal by now. Plus, someone tossed a cigarette out of the window and it hit Ribs square in the kneecap. He went down howling in pain, flopping like a fish.
  2. Ribs had an attitude problem. He flopped like a dying fish insulting the uniform he was wearing. He went around proclaiming to some that he was the best player on the team by far (I know, I know, "source?" Sorry, can't give it.) He was a cancer in the dressing room, caused problems with the heart and soul of the team... I could go on. He was as professional as a fart. Kovy at least has the right attitude. He might be lazy at times, hell, he might be a giant enigma, but he still plays without pretense. There's a difference between confidence in your abilities (Kovy) and abject cockiness. A huge difference.
  3. Nothing is happening elsewhere, so I had to trash talk here.
  4. If Kovy played at the top of his ability every night, he'd content for the scoring championship every year. I agree with all the pundits who say he needs to give more.
  5. Ribeiro 4G 96A Dagenais 96G 4A Theodore 100A Fairly obvious, isn't it.
  6. For sure Gainey is done. He's made his moves and now needs a vacation. The phone will be put off the hook at the Bell Centre (oh how ironic!!!) and no calls will be returned for the season. In fact, I believe he's going to Whistler to ski... or maybe he was taking a break in France. Can't quite remember now....
  7. As your ass? Perhaps this is where you run into problems in the HWL...
  8. Can they afford that one-two punch long-term?
  9. He might very well suck the H right out of the C, you're right. However, I submit that he does have the talent to be our legitimate number two by the end of the year. If he takes to the coaching and puts his nose to the grindstone to perform like he used to? He could be golden.
  10. Alright, it was a *LITTLE* exaggeration.
  11. Awfully short-sighted. Niinimaa has a lot of talent that just didn't show last season. Perhaps you're right, but I wouldn't bet against Gainey. Like I said somewhere else, if he plays half as well as he did with Edm/NYI he's going to be the bomb.
  12. I don't think Plex has more skill than Ribs, but he has heart where Ribs had none. And his speed, if nothing else, is a massive improvement. Just the fact that he'll be in the attacking zone where Ribeiro would be lugging himself past centre ice during an attack is a massive bonus. And his opportunities on the upper lines were at least on a par with Ribeiro. The only place we'll miss the little puke is on the power play when he'd have the extra time for his ponderous pace to make a difference - where the extra space made his vision worthwhile.
  13. Nothing could be worse than Latendresse winning the Calder. Nothing. Just like Ryder winning it would have been horrible. Think of the contract issues we've had with Ryder in the last two years and he was just a runner up. Now imagine if he'd won. Think of the Theo fiasco. No, if it's at all possible, I'd be very happy to see no habs ever win a statistical prize ever again. Team play to win the Cup, that's all I want to see. PS: Matt, the auto edit from H-a-b to habs is annoying. H-a-b is just the singular form of habs!
  14. Perhaps. But we're 10 times better off now than we were a few days ago. Plex is an upgrade if only because he'll bring it every night. Niinimaa is a massive upgrade defensively if he even plays half as well as his Edm/NYI days.
  15. I'm in tears. We just lost our S-U-P-E-R-S-T-A-R-!-!-! I wonder if the RDS broadcast crew will be holding a wake for their departed hero.
  16. Whaaaaaaaad? S-U-P-E-R-S-T-A-R-!-!-! Crosby pales in comparison. You read it here first, Ribeiro will get 223 points this season and elipse Gretz as the greatest of all time. Anyone who can't see that? Pfffff.
  17. Makes the Leafs abysmal history look even worse when you consider they had the same playing field as Montreal.
  18. Ryder sucks as well. We should trade him for cat balls. I mean, common, he didn't make the team until he was, what, 24 or so? And he LIVED in North America. DAMN THESE PLAYERS WHO DEVELOP AT DIFFERENT TIMES! HOW DARE THEY BE DIFFERENT! I totally agree with Kaos and his irrefutable logic. We'll be lucky if we can force Kostitsyn on to someone else. I mean, he obviously has little to no talent and will never make the NHL. He's been given his chance! He played a few games last year and, even though he impressed pretty much everyone with his savvy, it was QUITE evident that really everyone on his line was playing miles above their talent level to make him look good. And don't give me any of that crap that he didn't make the team because he's 20+ and could go down to Hamilton safely until a move is made or an injury occurs. He's had his chance and he blew it! He'll never don the bleu blanc rouge again, that's for certain. All those positive comments by Carbo in the pre-season saying Kosty was making his choice difficult? The fact that he stayed until the end when Carbo wanted to have the team set before last game? MEANINGLESS!!!!!!! That was all part of the "grand lie". Pfff. You neophyte hockey observers and your pseudo-intellectual commentary. You know nothing. Kaos and I will be proved correct when we see Kostitsyn playing in Switzerland after Christmas never again to skate in North America. I flick a booger at you all.
  19. I'm still more interested in what's happening to Kosty. No word, eh?
