  1. Drunk but still standing... Have been thinking. Wouldn't the San Jose Shark be the perfect trading partner? They have cap space and missing a scoring defencemen. They also have two great centers in Thorton and Marleau. Souray for Marleau? The money Marleau making today will be the money Souray will ask for tomorrow. Rumors saying Souray want't to play in California, Souray and Plekanec for Patrick Marleau? Win-win situation? And second. How many teams are believed searching for a goaltender? Detroit and St Louis? Niclas Kronwall or Christian Bäckman for Aebischer?
  2. Player that making everyone around better often wears a large "C" on the jersey... Kovalev and Samsonov are drilled in Russia and in order to get the magic they will need a center that understands them. It should be easier with Samsonov as he's younger but why not just face it. Montreal does only have one center that can play on the higher levels and that's Koivu. That's why this is the time to sacrifice some future so the Canadiens can become the complete team they almost are. I wouldn't be surprised if there's two new faces in Montreal after the deadline and maybe 3 or 4 players gone.
  3. Are the lines set? Any info yet? Since Higgins hasn't been able to play like he did before his injury I was thinking this could be the time to try somehing new... How about this? Have they tried this? Samsonov - Koivu - Kovalev Latendresse - Higgins - Ryder Plekanec - Bonk - Johnsson Streit - Begin - Perezhogin
  4. Why are we talking about Perezhogin? Wouldn't Plekanec bring us more in return? Pleks is defensive minded and mature in his play. I think a lot of teams would be interested in such a player that also young. Scoring talents are more common. The reason why I think this is better for the Habs is because both Johnsson and Bonk are having Selke years and Kyle Chipchura should be ready next season. And Montreal needs one thing and one thing only. A center for the second line that's good enough to get Kovalev and Samsonov going. Get that one player and you get 3!
  5. I don't think Philadelphia will get more than a mid-roster player and a mid-pick for Forsberg as he will be a broken rental.
  6. Samsonov is a great player that's having a tough time. With that in mind I think we all should give him more time to adapt. Fact is that the Kovalev-Samsonov line hasn't work because the team lacks a center that can play with them. Imagine a guy like Fedorov or Brylin with them... I hope and think that Samsonov will bounce back.
  7. I didn't give to much tought. But Colorado will have to send some of their highest paid in order to get Forsberg back. I also doubt thet the Jackets will let Fedorov go...
  8. Swedish media are reporting Forsberg will be traded to Colorado if they can get fit him under the cap. They also mention that 11 teams are currently asking about his services. I 3 or 4-way deal comming? I guess the GM have to be creative now when they have to think about the cap before any trade can be done... 4-way deal scenario (by me): To Montreal: Sergei Fedorov To Philadelphia: Tomas Plekanec, John-Michael Liles To Colorado: Peter Forsberg To Columbus: David Aebischer, Mike Knuble
  9. I don't like this. A bad week and two horrible games. Of course Carbo will do something to get back on track. Craig Rivet have been around for so long so he should be matured enough to realize all this. If there's something going on then he should still act like the profesional he's supposed to be. About Samsonov... Im still defending him. Everybody on this board should know what he's capable of. One have to feel comfortable outside of the ring to be able to perform. And look how long it took for Radek Bonk to adapt. Bonk's first season was not good. This season he should be nominated for the Selke and still his play hasn't change dramaticly. Im sure Samsonov will find the net once chemistry is there. Right now he's having a hard time getting they goals and probably the whole thing have gone phsycic. Therefore it can be a good thing for Samsonov to watch his team from the sideline. Get a new perpective and feel the hunger. About Philadelphia trading Pitkänen I don't believe it for a second. The Flyers was supposed to be a top team and now they are in a crisis and Pitkänen beeing their best defenceman and the only one on the blueline with his best days ahead of him. Flyers need young fresh blood. Something to build on. They should have realized by now that they will miss the playoffs and could start to deal their UFA-to come.
  10. That wishlist is looking good. But... If Souray want to leave Montreal for California or another southwest team then they should let him walk. Im not THAT interested in Eric Brewer. Scott Hannan and Danny Markov on the other hand... I doubt Smyth will ever leave Edmonton and therefore maybe Daniel Briere should be targeted instead. Mike Johnsson should be welcome back. Seems like a really nice guy and doing a great job in the silent. The same thing could be said about Bonk and if he can play like this not beeing on a contract year then I should have high priority. Other than that only Datsyuk will be the only one that will hear from 30 teams including the Habs.
  11. Did anyone expect the Habs to be as good whole season? Come on it's not real. Everything is working well, thay are on the way to a home advantage in the playoffs and they only thing that hasn't worked well during the season so far is the second line. My belief it that Montreal need a player that know Kovalev and Samsonov. Russians play a kind of game that other Europeans and North Americans don't always understand. When it works it's poetry but when it doesn't it's dissaster. Both Samsonov and Kovalev has all the skills needed they just need someone in between that can set them up. Sergei Fedorov would be the wet dream but I'll doubt the Jackets would even dream of letting him go.
  12. Im not sure I get it. They showed a video on the tron showing someone in a Habs jersey getting in to the water from a boat? Was this video recorded before the tradegy with Laura? Have they showed this video before?
  13. Plekanec is a solid NHL-player. Or will be. Therefore he should have a high value at the market at many teams seems to be looking for a center. However... I think that the skills that Plekanec brings to the team is allready there. I expect big things from Chipchure one day. I saw him the other day and I am sure that he will replace Bonk one day. If the Habs could get a Russian center for Kovalev and Samsonov I think it would be great and perhabs Plekanec would be apart of the price. Aebischer and Plekanec for a guy like Sergei Fedorov would be the wet dream. ( I think a player that was raised and tought the same kind of hockey as Kovalev and Samsonov would do the trick for that line)
  14. Why all the love for finns? What have they ever won? Get someone who's willing to sacrifice life and mother for Montreal and the Cup! The ace that Habs got it Aebischer. He's a number one that could come in handy when trying to boost the line-up.
  15. Brilliant. Traverse back to San Fransisco bay and Biron is back in Quebec... Great depth move.
  16. Yes and no. Kovalev draws attention. He's a magicans with the puck time to time and he has instinct. What he did to Tucker last season is enough to make me defend him for a long time...
  17. Mats Sundin started in Quebec. It would be nice if he couls close the circle... But let's face it. Sundin is one of the most unlikley players in a Canadiens jersey. (Sean Avery tops that list.)
  18. Rivet loves Montreal and has the stick on his right. Unless there's an offer that gives the Habs a better right-handed defenceman for less money than Rivet makes now, then I see no need to trade him. Rivet will accept a salary-cut and third pairings is almost certain in the future
  19. Guitar Hero and Singstar could be the best "pre-night-out" thing to do... Guitar Hero II is even better but my hope is that there will be a version with Playstation 3 that let you download all the great songs. I want to play a whole Van Halen concert!
  20. I'm perreaulized by the fact that you remember that... Perreault's curse is that he's not spectacular enough to be the first line center (nor good enough). Most teams wan't someome on his way up on the second line or a semi-star. Perreault doen't fit there either. The third line want's a player that responsible on both ends. Perreault win face-offs but will never win the selke. And he's not physical to the agitator-line won't benefit from his services. So there's no place in the NHL where the best faceoff man in the world that constantly contributes with 50 points per season. Isn't that a bit wierd?
  21. Makes my realize how much I don't care. (about that) ... Perreault was my favourite player. Don't know why but he always seems to get that goal winning goal. Had the same "crush" on Beniot Brunet. Anyway, at the same time I do realize that it was the right tight to let him go back then.
  22. Makes me realize how much I miss him...
