Don't expect spreading of ice time from the Oilers. They hope to finish us in 2 and face the Flames. Better matchup for them. 6 and 4 vs Calgary, best they can do is 4 and 5 vs Habs

I don't have the lineups or anything else for you. What I do have is the facts. We need a point. Period. Get your butts out there and get'er done boys. Can't wait on Calgary losing to the 'nucks. 1st GDT of the season, hope it is not my last! Go Habs Go!!!

Didn't that curse start with that guy #9 who was way to fragile for the NHL?

Fact is the team does not win without Gallagher in the lineup. Losing him was a blow. -

Well it is 3 in 4 most of the time here in. Better get used to it. Waive Byron again and play Cole. He can't do worse. -
Exactly, so hold him up until and injury to a forward allows you to play him. He has not proven yet if he is able to score at the NHL level, but we have no idea until he is given a chance. He is not a teen. He is 20, and could easily be able to play at the high level. Maybe he continues to outscore Matthews at this level. Who knows? Excited to find out. Exactly, we would need and injury for him to play. Maybe he can make the NHL jump, maybe not. He is not a kid though, he is 20. This isn't KK coming in without a whisker on his face. Maybe he can be a top end goal scorer. One can hope. Until he shows he isn't ready he should be given a chance to work into the lineup and play if the chance arises. AHL is not going to help him at this point of time. He has shown in a couple games that he can easily dominate that level. To me our mishandling of youth is not bringing in Mete or KK early, it is not giving our youth a shot. Never said generational, but he did out score Matthews in USHL. He might just be elite. That good enough 'Cuke?

Guessing Matthews and McDavid should have had more development time in your opinion? Time in the AHL would have done them some good? Not all players benefit from time in the minors, some do. Some days I am so glad we are all only armchair managers. Caulfield has to prove he isn't ready before anyone including the top brass will believe he needs time down. NHL net and goalies are the same size as in all the leagues. No difference to a sniper. I sure wish we had sent Lafluer to Halifax though, the jump to the NHL so soon ruined his development. Shakes his head and heads for coffee.....

I suspect heis gone. I hope it means a LD from Nash is coming in...

Haha, like your humour. I have watched hockey since the early 60's. Todays NHL product is a watered down game, it is not better or more entertaining. As for gear it was players themselves that brought that in. Mikita and Plante were leaders in that. That has nothing to do with not playing 3 on 3 shinny at the end of a game. Adding penalty for flipping a puck over the boards, dumb. No touch icing, dumb but I understand not wanting to hurt the children who are now in what was a mans league. Players are too young. Edge is gone. Not many games keep you on the edge of your seat anymore. Yes, it is faster. Better? Not in my opinion. I prefer a tie to a skills contest to finish the game of hockey. As for youth Lafluer was 20 when he played his first NHL game. That was the norm back then. NHL has become faster kids game. That is my point.I prefered it being a man's league where it wasn't a worry that a teenager was going to go into the boards wrong on a race for the puck, which was an exciting part of the game as a spectators sport.

Maybe Bettman will next change it so no slap shots are allowed because people get hurt. He is the epitome of what is wrong with the game. We had the best, fastest, hardest hitting, toughest sport in the world, even tougher than Aussie Football. It was perfectly fine as is......Then Bettman....... What a wimp. IMHO. Yes people were getting injured, but I knew that risk at 7 years old when I played my first season, goalie with a Ed Giacomin mask and cotton arm and chest pads. Kids hit and fought, some got hurt. But we all survived it. It was hockey and wasnt meant for everyone but we who played did not want it changed. OT in regular season, I couldnt care less what happens. 3 on 3 is not hockey, it is shinny when not enough people show up. Man we even considered that too few for a street hockey game. Call me a boomer if you must. Today's hockey is a watered down version played by figure skaters.
-
Agreed fully OT is a complete joke. 3 on 3 is not hockey. Even if both teams have 2 in the box it is 4 on 4. that is how hockey is played. This is a dumb way to finish games and hopefully goes away in the future, aka post Bettman. I have hated it since it was brought in. 1pnt each for a tie is regular season hockey. Anything else is Bettman's Broomball Have you done the math to see where we sit if the other teams dont get that extra point for OT and both got one? Sitting pretty good. Bettman is destroying hockey, one rule at a time. Making it his game, not Hockey
-
Good news, we do not finish playoff games with a shinny match followed by a skills competition. 3 on 3 is not hockey. It is a joke for the American fan base who hates ties Good news, if we get in the playoffs we wont have home ice advantage Good news, team has shown twice in a row we can score under pressure when we are desperate. Bad news, we are getting desperate because the teams chasing us are closing the gap

All I ask is that we clinch before the last 3 games. Don't want to be in a need to win situation there.
