Fair point but I look at it like his hurt shoulder was surgically fixed and hasn’t failed so maybe once the other shoulder is surgically repaired Xhekaj will be good to go

Small bit of good news I guess

Le défenseur Arber Xhekaj subira demain une opération à l’épaule gauche qui mettra un terme à sa saison. Il devrait être prêt pour le début de la saison prochaine. Defenseman Arber Xhekaj will undergo season-ending surgery to his left shoulder tomorrow. He is expected to be ready for next season. Copy and paste from twitter - still can’t repost tweets. Is this the same shoulder?

End of season is finally coming. Sorry boys but it best if we lose. Wouldn’t mind if Suzuki or Caufield or Slafkovsky fills the net though. -
GDT Game 77 Habs @ Rags
Prime Minister Koivu replied to The Chicoutimi Cucumber's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
Yep busiest game thread ever Habs need to lose the remaining games to pick 5th. -
I saw this posted today and wow there were a surprising number of #1 overall draft failures since the year 2000. Poor Columbus!

GDT GAME 76 - Montreal vs Toronto - 7 p.m. - April 6, 2021
Prime Minister Koivu replied to GHT120's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
If you watched the after game Sportsnet panel, Bieksa said that the leafs have an amazing fourth line and that Reaves is key to playoff success. It made me chuckle then a warm comfort enveloped me because if the hope of leaf nation is Reaves then they aren’t winning anytime soon -

Ugly period so far but that Suzuki PP was beautiful from start to finish -

I think it was pretty even, both teams had good chances. Agree about the Suzuki line. They are legit -

Don’t want to take anything away from Reilly because he is a good player. Passing the puck to Mathews, Marner, Nylander sure helps those numbers though. Those guys score a lot of goals -

Defensemen Kaiden Guhle (upper body, day-to-day) and Arber Xhekaj (upper body, further update to come pending evaluation) will not be available to play tonight. Defenseman Justin Barron was recalled from the Laval Rocket (emergency recall). -
2023-24 Montreal Canadiens Discussion Thread
Prime Minister Koivu replied to GHT120's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
The Canadiens mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. 🎉🎂 Looking like the Habs pick in the 6-10 range with an outside chance of picking 5 if Arizona can go on a heater. Lottery is always possible but unlikely I think the Habs did play better and more consistently than last season. Our Defence in its current state is too weak to win but help is coming. Habs were competitive in most games this season and had significantly fewer listless, effortless games. Decent progress for the rebuild I think and I wonder if Suzuki has a 100 point season in him? -
2024 NHL Entry Draft
Prime Minister Koivu replied to Habs Fan in Edmonton's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
So the best, most likely scenario is that Calgary finishes 11 th worst overall or just outside the playoffs. I think it’s possible but I don’t see Florida in that range. If both teams finish bottom 10 then the Habs get the better pick of the two? Even though they are bottom 10? -
I completely forget about the season where Danault’s offence dried up. He was asking for around 6 million if I recall and Bergevin would only go 5.5 or something close to that. I also remember McDavid crying and having fits because Danault put him in his back pocket. I’m not sure if Danault should have been signed or not. It’s a really close call.
