  1. Not really anybody's fault, just a bad bounce. Guhle wasn't doing anything wrong even if it went off of him. Just got collapsed too far down into the net.
  2. I saw Brind'Amour and for a second I pictured Rob strapping on his equipment to fill a spot.
  3. For Carolina, it's not worth dressing their stars in a game like this. Montreal has too much to lose to not play hard and with emotion. Risking injury unnecessarily for a nothing game to them is foolish. It's great news for Montreal, but this really should be a nothing game for Montreal as well if they didn't squander multiple chances.
  4. I'm glad you think that you're the only reason I've returned. It still doesn't change you personally attacked a poster, then played victim, now trying to shift the blame to me for this situation. As for this interaction, I'm done. I hope the admins handle this situation appropriately for someone who has been publicly warned with a ban for this behavior, publicly warned for that same type of behavior since that ban warning and is now repeating that exact type of behavior in the last 6 months alone.
  5. How could I make, and I quote, "two posts on hockey," if I, and I quote again, "only post here when its to attack me?" That's a pretty contradictory statement. I also don't have to explain to you why I haven't posted in months, so the reason I haven't posted is quite honestly, none of your concern.
  6. I regret to inform you that pointing out what you did isn't attacking you. Also accusing me of only posting when it's to attack you is just false. I've had almost zero interaction with you for months. That's just fabricating a story to play the victim.
  7. A personal attack is a type of argument that focuses on criticizing a person's character, personality, or appearance rather than addressing their ideas or arguments. - pulled that from google AI. That statement alone validates that it was in fact a personal attack. Smoking crack has nothing to do with the OP, this forum, the Montreal Canadiens, the NHL, or hockey in general. It is only about the person making the statement. Which is in fact, a personal attack. Which also contradicts your opinion that you never insulted them and the you were "attacking an argument and not a person." @tomh009 @dlbalr
  8. Unless you can explain anything from that video that relates to the post in the slightest, it's an attack on the person, not the argument. It's quite obvious that it's an attempt to insinuate the OP is smoking crack because you see their post as gibberish.
  9. Any trade for Dobson would have a contract extension as teams would want a sign and trade to get the extra year on the deal. The biggest reason for adding Matheson would be he's LD and Dobson is RD. Matheson, Guhle, Hutson are all LD. None have shown to be as effective on their off side as thier natural side. All of that being said, I would do it, even if it sent Beck the other way. A future problem could be a logjam on the RD, but if that were to happen you could find a replacement for Beck with that trade. Worse case scenario is one of Reinbacher or Mailioux doesn't work out, then you still have 2 good top-4 RD. Plus, to replace Beck, there's this kid named Demidov that's getting a bunch of attention.
  10. If Montreal was offered a 2nd at the draft, before his great season so far, you'd have to believe his value would be higher now. He's a player that the team acquiring him should have a reasonable expectation of re-signing him, so he shouldn't be a pure rental.
  11. Michkov was benched after getting in an argument with Tortorella during a TV timeout last night. I know it's Torts, but as a player it rarely a good idea to argue with the coach on the bench. https://x.com/FlyersNation/status/1885156748085887461https://x.com/FlyersNation/status/1885156748085887461
  12. Great poll question. I chose to sign Hutson, you can't trade for or get a superstar defenseman in free agency. Trade Demidov, he should have good value and there's always the possibility Laine re-signs and his injury woes are in the past. LTIR Fowler, even though you never want to see players hurt, but he's a goalie, he may not ever play a game in the NHL regardless of his projection.
  13. The beginning of November I doubt any of us believed Montreal would be in the mix.
  14. Caufield- Suzuki- Slafkovsky Newhook - Dach - Laine Anderson - Evans - Armia Pezzetta - Dvorak - Gallagher Hutson - Matheson Guhle - Carrier Xhekaj - Savard Montembeault Preliminary lineups, subject to change. The first set of projected lineups I found had Reinbacher in a non-contact jersey with Guhle on the second pair. Somebody took the practice lines reflecting gameday line a little too far.
  15. There are 2 draws and the teams drawn can only move up a maximum of 10 spots. A team can only win 2 times in a 5 year period as well, i only learned this part while looking up the answer to your question. https://www.nhl.com/news/nhl-draft-lottery-changes-announced-for-2021-322838154
  16. The 2nd round pick from the Avs in that trade was packaged to get the 21st pick in last year's draft and Hage was picked. At this point in time it's a loss, but if Hage turns out to be a top-6 forward it could still be a win for Montreal. This is one of the reason I enjoyed Steve Dangle's trade tree videos during the pandemic. You never really see the full picture of a trade as it often has ripple effects.
  17. The problem with playing Carrier with Hutson is Guhle and Carrier are quietly a great pair. You can't really break that up to fix another problem. For this season, I think they will just have to go through the lumps. As for trading Matheson, i agree the off-season is likely the time he will be traded. There's a far better chance of there being a lateral LD for RD swap with another team, even though that type of trade is pretty uncommon.
  18. It’s also tied to Matheson’s play too. MSL is definitely challenging them to be better, so if Matheson isn’t playing as well, it puts pressure on Hutson to play better and do more, which often times leads to more mistakes. i know some will say you can’t put that pressure on a rookie, but with how good Hutson is to start his career, you need to walk that fine line between making him comfortable in the NHL and pushing him to be better.
  19. I’m probably going to eat these words, but I’m fairly confident Montreal is going to win this. New Jersey has outshot Montreal so far, but Montreal has had some real quality to their shots. Chances wise it’s gotta be pretty close, maybe even slightly in Montreal’s favour.
  20. That's under the assumption Anderson/Evans walk after this season. Pittsburgh wouldn't entertain any expiring contracts without an extension in place. My proposal was assuming that an extension was reached, but I didn't include that which is my own fault.
  21. That would 100% get it done, but it's a massive over-payment. Realistically, at 37, he has 1-2 more years left. If the Penguins were actually looking to trade Crosby, and Montreal were willing to take him on at this stage of the rebuild, Evans/Anderson plus a 2nd would be enough, maybe a conditional 1st on games played instead of a second. Montreal would only be getting 180ish games, at best, from Crosby. I know this sounds like a massive underpayment, but Crosby's longevity in the NHL past that trade will kill his potential return. He could opt to retire at any point starting the end of this season and that will be factored into his value.
  22. I completely agree. Dach has taken nearly half a season to get started again after missing a year. Laine has been back for just over a month.
