  1. MT is saying Prust is not missing tonight's game due to injury, it's a luxury of locking up a playoff spot early, we can give players nights off to be as healthy as possible. Sound more like he has a playable injury, but no need to take chances at this point.
  2. It really is a tragedy. Boston also now has 2 games in need of rescheduling.
  3. Just want to add dblair, he isn't wearing a non-contact jersey. https://twitter.com/CanadiensMTL/status/323807733897887744/photo/1 Diaz is leading the stretch.
  4. Diaz is paired with Gorges in the morning skate. Not to be over optimistic but I can't remember seeing a defenseman that isn't playing being paired with one that is as of yet. Signs are pointing to he will be playing. Just gonna add this anyway; I could be wrong, and this is my opinion, nothing other than the report he's paired with Gorges in the pre-game skate has said he is playing tonight.
  5. This isn't a NHL decision to not disclose the injury, it's a team decision. From what was being said on TSN the reason they wouldn't classify it as a concussion is because the Leafs have a history of not dealing with concussions properly. What they mean exactly by that, I have no idea. They also went on to say Toronto has one of the worse medical staffs in the NHL when it comes to concussions. So it's not that they don't want to say it's a concussion for the sake of the fans, it's because the team is scared of that type of injury itself.
  6. I am also worried about the lack of Chris Lee calls when playing the Leafs. They know they will get away with dirtier play so they will try to goon their way to a win. I also am worried about injuries. Our luck is we would lose one of our top guys, like Carey, in a game this close to the playoffs when we're in such good position. All because the refs let the game get out of hand.
  7. Didn't he just ref the Montreal vs Washington? Funny how the only penalty called that game was against us.
  8. DD is getting 2 wingers able to contribute to offense. He had a shot on the Ryder and Gionta line and put up 2 points that game. Chucky and Eller is going to have their first shot with a full scoring winger. Last season Eller had Moen and Kostitsyn, a plug and a scorer. This season started as Moen and Armstrong. Then Chucky and Prust/Armstrong/Dumont. Yet DD has had 2 scoring winger and Eller is 1 point behind him. I was on the trade Eller bandwagon at the beginning of the season, but boy was I wrong. He's developing into a good two-way center, like Pleks. The kid has paid his dues with checking roles and plugs on his line, it's time he gets his shot as an offensive player. He's gonna get that starting tonight and until one of our top-9 gets injured.
  9. Wolvie - Pleks - Gally/Ryder Chucky - Eller - Ryder/Gally Bourque - DD - Gionta Prust - Halpern - Moen/White Pleks and Eller are making things happen, give them the wingers that can best put points on the board. Maybe DD needs a little doghouse time to snap him back.
  10. 2 months ago we were ready to run him out of town. I like the signing. He had a rocky start but has been dependable, to say the least, when called upon. All you ask of your backup goalie is to give your team a chance to win. Barring his first couple of starts, he has done this in strides, even looking better than Price at times.
  11. Bourque is supposed to play in tonight's game. Not sure if it was mentioned here yet.
  12. After he was traded to Montreal I read Ryder will be looking for 5 years @ $5m per for his next contract and that he probably will retire after that contract. As dblair said, the better he does the more it's clear he won't be back. that is unless MB decides he will be a key piece for us for the next 5 years.
  13. We could offer him 2-3 years, but he will not take it. He's looking for a retirement contract, one that will pay him until his late 30's. He's looking for 5 years roughly. While he's worth 5m for the first 2-3 years, he wants around 5 years so he can be paid out while on the decline. Unless we offer him around a 5 year term, he will not resign with us, no matter how much us, the fans, want him to.
  14. If we Move Gionta we could easily do $4m-$5m or 3 to 4 years.
  15. I saw in a report just after we acquired him that he would be seeking a new contract around 5m per year as a "retirement" contract, so probably 4-5 years as well. Not sure MB will commit that to Ryder.
  16. I was hoping Pleks would be out, but only for a couple fo games. Want to see what Eller can do with this opportunity.
  17. Looks like Vancouver contacted Toronto 3 times between 2pm-3pm to try to get a Luongo deal done. Toronto declined all 3 times. Vancouver was reportedly asking for Scrivens and picks.
  18. I'm interested to see Drewiske, good depth defenseman.
  19. Spector claiming it was Price + Subban + Patches + 1st for Lecavalier. Not Lecavalier in his prime, the declining one. Gainey really did like his declining players.
  20. I signed it a few weeks back and I don't even listen to it. Isn't it also about it's and english-only radio station in Quebec as well? Didn't read the above articles.
  21. It's SJS 2nd + FLA 3rd + conditional 3rd if he re-signs or rangers win 2 rounds, if not it's a 5th. Brennan Klak ‏@nhlupdate 13m Per Pierre LeBrun, Clowe moved to NYR from SJS for NYR 2nd, FLA 3rd and a conditional 2nd on re-signing or winning 2 rounds. If not, then 5th
  22. Down to Van and NYR for Clowe. Looking like NYR. Clowe wants to play in the East. definitely gotta be Rangers. Deal in place, Ranger's 2nd + 3rd + conditional 2nd(2014) on Clowe re-signing. Clowe just needs to waive his NTC. And it's done. Clowe to Rangers If Sather pulls this off he'll be job hunting in the offseason. How do you make a push for the playoffs? Add another under-performing player!
  23. Pierre LeBrun ‏@Real_ESPNLeBrun 1m From NHL scout on Drewiske: "team first guy...plays the body......solid on PK...CHARACTER." Pierre LeBrun ‏@Real_ESPNLeBrun 27s Con't from scout on Drewiske, "going to be solid No 6"
