Smart, mature move by Price, calling Subban off when Nash bumped him. A PP is more important than a statement at that point.

Waivers Kaberle placed on waivers, clears
TurdBurglar replied to HabsWEST's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
The 900k removed by waiving Kaberle, is it taken off the total of his cap hit or remaining on his cap hit? If it's total it takes 900k of 4.5m If it's remaining it's 900k of 768k roughly, which would mean no hit for Kaberle, at this point. I'm honestly not sure how it works. Anyone? -
While Bouwmeester is a veteran in the NHL, you cannot expect him to perform like anything other than a rookie in the playoffs. He has never been in the playoffs, he has no playoff experience. Let's not lose sight of that.

TSNBobMcKenzie: Re: waivers providing flexibility. I'm told MTL doesn't plan on demoting Kaberle if he clears but will have ability to do so if necessary. Looks like he's not going to the AHL, just doing this for cap flexibility. Looks like MB might be going after a player or 2 at the deadline the would require cap space. -
I would also like Mcleod, but I think a 2nd is too high. A 3rd - 4th liner is 4th pick at best, unless packaged. Maybe a 2nd + prospect if they throw in Hejduk. Would fill our need for a 3rd line winger for Chucky and Eller, one with experience. Ryder - Pleks - Gionta Wolvie - DD - Gallagher Chucky - Eller - Hejduk Prust - Halpern - McLeod White, Bourque(until he's ok, unless we trade him) Got a nice grindy 4th line with 2 guys that will drop the gloves. Give us Armstrong and Moen for added depth or to trade for a defenseman. With Bourque not at 100%, gives him time to come back to 100% and slot him in the lineup over one of the rookies if they struggle.
-
We have DD, Pleks, Eller, Galchenyuk, Halpern, White all natural centers and Prust able to play center. Right now we have 6 natural centers on the roster and one winger that can play center. You ask how could another center hurt, I ask how many centers do a team need?
-
Prust may be in the lineup tomorrow night, the decision will be made after the morning skate.

Demoted Tinordi assigned to Hamilton Dumont back up April 4th

Head coach Michel Therrien confirmed that Beaulieu will make his NHL debut on Saturday night against the New York Rangers. -
Stajan is only 46.2% on the draw. If we're trading for a center it needs to be an improvement in the faceoff circle over what we have(DD 48.1%, Eller 48.6, Pleks 50.1%, Halpern 55.7%, White 54.9%). Actually from just looking up those number, we're not doing as bad as I thought on draws. Looks like MT had our centers working on them. We've moved from 28th in the league to 22nd. Still think DD, as our number 1/2 center should be a tad higher.

I don't believe there's a rule, I think that was the purpose of the conditional draft picks. If Iggy gets his cup, he's re-signing with Calgary in the offseason. Thats almost guaranteed.
-
Maybe since he had a setback under the team's watch, the team wants an outside opinion if he's progressing properly. If Bourque is indeed skating, I think this is probably more about making sure he's going to be 100% when he comes back (or get concrete news so he's tradable.)
-
Unless Ottawa or Toronto passes us and we get past the first round, second round we probably will have Boston or Pittsburgh.
-
So now Iginla is off the market and not a Bruin, I think Boston will go hard after Clowe.
-
I posted that above I only mentioned Eklund because he said Calgary was holding out for more, which made sense. To my surprise it sounds like Iginla was the wone holding up the trade, sounded like he wanted to goto Pittsburgh.
-
Eklund reporting the deal may be stalled because the deal may get bigger. Maybe Feaster realized he should be getting more and forcing the Bruins to Pony up more? I know it's Eklund, but at this point it's plausible, as McKenzie reported Feaster was calling LA/CHI/PT to get a better deal. Watch Boston pull Iginla and Bouwmeester out of Calgary. That would make a scarey Bruins team. How about: Iginla + Bouwmeester or Kipper For Hamilton, Bartkowski, Khoklachev and Boston's 1st.

Didn't see this happening at the end of the 2nd. We're like 3rd period kings this season. -

Think your not taking in account thats 3 breakaways and 4? 5? 2-on-1's we;ve given up because we're obviously tired. -

Last PP, twice they had all pressure coming down the left wing and they skated it in the zone and dumped it in the right corner. Why not just give to puck away in the neutral zone? -
Bob McKenzie saying people close to the Bruins saying deal is pretty much done. Iginla for Bartkowski, Khoklachev and Boston's 1st.
-
Bob McKenzie saying Calgary may be using Boston to leverage PIT/LA/CHI. Sounds like the deal is close.
-
Iginla a healthy scratch tonight for Calgary. A sign a trade is close for him?
-
Clowe's price will go down to a 2nd, and a prospect. Right now all sellers have a huge price-tag on their players. It's common sense, if they want the player earlier, their gonna pay for it. I have a feeling is we make any moves at or near the deadline, Leblanc is gone. We're pretty good down the middle with Pleks, DD, Eller and possibly Galchenuyk all capable of being our top 3 centers. Leblanc's talents would be wasted on this team at center as he would only slot in at the 4th line center, 3rd at best with injuries. We're more in need of a natural winger than we are wasting talent on the bottom lines. Look at Vancouver last year, they saw Hodgson was going to be a top-2 center, but there was no room on their team, so they traded him for a big, young, physical winger they needed. I think we should do the same with Leblanc.

Price confirmed in tonight. CanadiensMTL: Carey Price will start against the Bruins. Any other lineup changes will be game-time decisions. -
March 26: Montreal @ Pittsburgh 7PM EST
TurdBurglar replied to Machine of Loving Grace's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
Price stole this one. Too bad the rest of the team couldn't help him out. I would like to know why the only time we had players at the net was when the puck was either covered or not there.
