  2. Writers Weigh In: Who Will Montreal Trade Next? – HabsWorld.net Ylonen, Matheson.... hmm who knows?
  3. Hope Rohrer matures well over next season+ in Swiss league and has a bit bigger role next season . https://www.habseyesontheprize.com/montreal-canadiens-european-prospects-2024-02-27-stats-highlights-david-reinbacher-adam-engstrom-filip-eriksson-bogdan-konyushkov-oliver-kapanen-vinzenz-rohrer-yevgeni-volokhin/ How soon will we see Reinbacher in a Hab jersey... am getting anxious! "...A lot has been said about Kloten’s season, but the fact is that Reinbacher has stood tall when the others around him have faltered, and I expect him to continue to do so under the circumstances that he will face. He is Kloten’s best player and it’s not close as you watch the team play. It would have been easy for him to drop with the rest of his team, but his character and pride don’t let him, and that is something that should really speak to Montreal fans all over the world."
  4. I think Hughes is more likely to trade a pick(s) for another Dach/Newhook type and not trade up. But, maybe no one else has a similar young player they are looking to give up on? I think Hughes has picked the bones of the 2019 draft class. How bout the 2020 class now?
  5. Guhle was -2 but i still liked how he worked hard defending around Montembeault, 24:09. Harris must be happy to get 2 points and 17:34. Armia averages 14.4g/82games, seems will end up around his norm at end of year. Roy continues to make some smart plays with puck and doing well.
  6. One stat that seemed to stand out.
  7. Yup, Coyotes suck. Looked like an AHL team. Evans(3 shots)/Armia(4 shots) 2pts each Caufield just 1 shot, shut down by a crappy team. "10 Thoughts 1) A concern that I had early and often in the opening frame was that the Habs were getting way too cute, the top line in particular. There are no style points nor do you get bonus points for fancy passes or completing a bunch of passes before shooting. If you’re trying no-look drop passes in the slot, something is wrong. Someone needs to start shooting the puck. Montreal had ten shot attempts in the opening 20 minutes. Not shots on goal, shot attempts. Against a team that hasn’t won in more than a month, that’s categorically unacceptable." 10 Thoughts: Montembeault Shuts Down Coyotes – HabsWorld.net
  8. Kinda thought he was bit much to ask for. I dont know trades, but seems Leafs & Oilers (& Jets?) must be pretty desperate to go all-in, with top forwards in their peak.
  9. Sitting 6th worst today; Some nice options in top 10 up front and on d. 2024 NHL Draft consensus big board: Macklin Celebrini, defensemen lead midseason list - The Athletic "It’s not inconceivable, either, that after Celebrini, defensemen could make up a significant portion of the top five. Pronman, in particular, has three defenders ranked in that range, and Wheeler has four in his top seven. The question is how to sort them."
  10. Denver freshman Zeev Buium 38pts 30gms, is another solid looking d-man (1.27pt/gm) (Hutson 1.30pt/gm) Obviously another LH d-man not a big Hab need but seems to have some offense which never hurts? Zeev Buium Hockey Stats and Profile at hockeydb.com
  11. Xhekaj 1g (29) vs Beck 1a Saturday Highlights: Parekh finds the highlight reel in overtime - Ontario Hockey League (chl.ca) Montreal Canadiens prospect Florian Xhekaj scored his 29th goal of the season; he has 17 of his 29 goals since Jan. 1st and is on a nine-game point streak
  12. 2 interesting prospects doing pretty well; Catton is 5th in WHL scoring, 43g in 56 games Parekh is 6th in OHL scoring; 81pts as a d-man.
  13. Entertaining at least, for an early start game.
  14. They said it isnt as bad as 1st looked or speculated. So assume is just 'day to day'.
  15. Losing 2-1 mid 3rd Andersson with unassisted PP goal. Mailloux/Simoneau 5 shots each. Toronto Marlies @ Laval Rocket Friday, February 23, 2024 | TheAHL.com | The American Hockey League
  16. Reinbacher 0pts 21:15 in 3-0 loss. Xhekaj 1g (28) late 3rd Mesar 1g(17) 1a 4 shots mid 3rd Beck 0pts start 3rd Hutson 2a mid 3rd
  17. Yes Fowler/Volokhin/Dobes/Primeau... who the hell knows if any have #1 in them? I think Fowler (0.923%) has done great, but so did Primeau (0.933% last year NCAA). Volokhin supposedly also looking good in the MHL, 0.937%
  18. Pens have a few big contracts for older guys. I am not interested in Crosby now, but maybe after next year when is a UFA i suppose would be a fun addition. But kinda hope he retires as a Penguin.
  19. 2 folks rank habprospects, i guess i agree more with Patrick's list. Habsent Minded 6.51: Mid-season Canadiens Prospect Ranking (habseyesontheprize.com) Hadi Patrik 1 Lane Hutson Lane Hutson 2 David Reinbacher David Reinbacher 3 Jacob Fowler Joshua Roy 4 Owen Beck Owen Beck 5 Joshua Roy Logan Mailloux 6 Filip Mešár Filip Mešár 7 Logan Mailloux Adam Engström 8 Adam Engström Sean Farrell 9 Bogdan Konyuskov Jacob Fowler 10 Oliver Kapanen Bogdan Konyuskov
  20. Hmmm, i dunno if put much stock into 'pedigree' being a plus? But, having a millionaire former NHLer father likely cant hurt opportunity for development though.
  21. Pretty productive week for line #1. Habs Weekly: Top Line Continues To Shine Despite Losses – HabsWorld.net
  22. Euro Habs Prospects: Kapanen back after time with national team (habseyesontheprize.com) "...Rögle has scored the least amount of goals in the SHL and Engström has been directly involved in 19% (18/94) of Rögle’s goals so far, this without a lot of power play time as well as being the defensive part of the pairing with Viljanen." "Eriksson continues his impressive season in Nybro, with 17 points (6G, 11A) in 15 games. It helps that he is being used on the power play, but he is playing around 20 minutes a game and plays on both special-teams units." "... Reinbacher is the best player that Kloten has on the ice. He is back to himself now that the injuries seem to have passed..."
  23. The Tradables? Allen, Primeau Barron, Savard, Harris, Kovacevic Anderson, Armia, Ylonen, Pezzetta, Pearson, Evans
  24. Xhekaj 1g1a '9' shots 9/15 Mesar 2a 2 shots 6/10 Beck 2a 4 shots 4/11 Fowler 4g 24 shots 5-4 Win.
