  1. Nobody is talking about Radulov in all this. Lehkonen was talking up Radulov (again I am stealing link from HabsWorld home page, sorry just is a interesting Q/A with the Finn) http://www.habseyesontheprize.com/2016/8/8/12403748/artturi-lehkonen-interview-training-frolunda-sweden-montreal-canadiens-roster-habs
  2. Why would you consider Lernout to have more upside than Scherbak? You may want to view the junior highlight compilations of the two on youtube and IceCap game highlights from last year. Lernout is seen as topping out at maybe a #5 d-man by most and Scherbak likely is a top six scoring forward, or bust/off to the KHL. He was -26 on the IceCaps last year, so his defensive game is a bit shoddy for sure, but he had a good stretches of games for offense http://habsprospects.com/scherbak.html . Safe to say is quite important year for both to prove they can be impact players in the AHL first off.
  3. Just curious, are their stipulations around press box stuff, do you have to sign a waiver to never reveal what you might hear 'off the record'?
  4. Don't know the answer but...safe to say that Jeff really really likes 24 font size.
  5. Pssst...your thinking out loud again.
  6. http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=890798
  7. Nice to see you are coming around and like you, I think everyone agrees Weber is a respected dude and should be a nice mentor to Nathan and the other kids as well, unlike the guy he is replacing.
  8. Canada wins in OT vs Slovakia 3-2 Maxime Comtois had 2g (6'1 189lb, LW, 26g 60pts for Victoriaville last year) http://hlinkamemorial.com/eng/index.asp
  9. But...Scherbak, man the kids has a sweet set of mitts on him and gotta say is 100% better chance of him being a "impact" NHLer (top 4 d-man/top six player) than Lernout.
  10. Ugg, I can do without hfboards 70.9 or 71.7 pts? Cant be points.
  11. Umm top five, nah don't thinks so Reway, Lehkonen, McCarron, Bitten, Scherback, Hudon, Carr, Andrighetto, Juulsen, Sergachev, even maybe the big Swede d-man (who they said looked good, but maybe just his size made him stand out at development camp?)
  12. Sure, wouldnt doubt it...I wonder how does Lemieux stack up? He must be just a bit below in production, but obviously injuries/cancer were real kick in the nuts for his career #s.
  13. Semantics. God knows many want him to be able to make 'the jump', but that is highly unlikely to be vs Leafs in mid-October, given the glut of d-man seemingly ahead of him at the moment + Sergachev may squeeze in there also. I just hope Lernout can work up to top pairing minutes, defend well, avoid fighting and blast home a few PPGs, this year in Nfld. (He has been a quite slim 6'4" and hopefully he is hitting gym hard, can gain some strength and as always work on foot speed this summer
  14. Yes #s are mind numbing for sure. But, in 80s-90s scoring overall must be at its peak and almost every scoring record must come from that time (granted 99 owns a ton of them), Bossy rookie scoring, 99, 66, Selanne, Hull etc
  15. I know is goofy, but how else best could you compare a past top forward and d-man if were ranking them? D-men play a tougher position, score at a lower rate and obviously must play much more defense, which is important to winning as well.
  16. Sorry, some days I would agree with you, but if you took a team of Bobby Orrs vs a team of Gretzkys, not sure it would be that one sided, do you? You imagine Orr and Orr on defense pairings. Who would stop the Orr's on forward at the other end? Gretzky and Gretzky unlikely would hold up well. (I know is goofy way to look at it, but how else could you compare) (I think a team of Larry Robinson's might also fare well, but biased point of view for sure.)
  17. It was just a joke Bud, you know that and not sure NHL players and minor league prospects spend much time hanging out, unless they train together in off-season.
  18. Make it to the NHL? Cart before horse I would say, played one part game and got injured, dosent quite make him a NHL regular.
  19. Did ya see what he did there, he tossed a nice fat fact out there...Weber twice as many GWGs, just last year and Subban has ZERO since 2011. Do I need to add WEBER WINS!!!? No, OK I wont. Don't worry, he will grow on you 29 and you soon forget who even wore #76 (unless a rookie or prospect grabs that # this year).
  20. But the Corsi...what about the Corsi!
  21. Greatest player ever, maybe in your eyes? How did 99 do as a d-man or goalie, which are both much harder positions to play than a floating forward, and he played in an era when no-names got 70g or 100+ points. How bout most skilled forward of all time, that I would buy. Tired discussing Squid, is he the #1 best free agent and there is not any competition? I cant think of any, but don't know who all was signed as a free agent, seems most undrafted good ones were traded for by Habs. Seems a pretty short list anyways. Thanks
  22. And likely would be better if had of drafted Kreider and Kuznetsov instead of Leblanc and Tinordi and not traded McDonagh. But of course, hindsight and what ifs can be spun however you like. That would be my main point. Also, 4 different GMs have let him walk, so cant be that valuable a player.
