  1. Would much prefer to deal for 35yr old Joe Thorton. At least he has reasonable contract.
  2. Pat Brissen is higher profile dude eh (or has lots of star clients dosent he?)
  3. Who might you replace Prust with? He was crowd favourite in Calgary, New York (and Montreal I think) and I would guess Brian Burke would grab him if offered or even Cirelli (sp?) might for his young stars? I don't think I have heard anyone even mention him as trade bait (one post a while ago maybe), so don't think would be popular move?
  4. Yes his fists make him valuable teammate and unlike a Parros, he is good forechecker and bottom six player. Even with goons mostly gone, he finds willing dance partners often enough.
  5. Markov fired his agent and then signed a reasonable contract, so hopefully follow same pattern?
  6. Too late, already are numerous teams lining up offers for Sharp they say. If a GM thinks he can improve his team he wont likely worry about helping Hawks or not.
  7. Sharp inquirers supposedly; Leafs, Caps, Isles, Pens, Panthers and not the Habs. Emelin a possible target for Canes? Gilbert same?
  8. I betya Gallagher is chirping the #3 pick over his nice long deal he already signed and Galchenyuk does not find it so funny.
  9. Sure enough no offense, he is just on my shit-list and make skin crawl a bit...just me though, many seem to miss him and still like to see him back.
  10. Cammalleri was cool? uggg Is fine Galchenyuk wants to called an American, just to me he seems more Russian, but funny is a pet peeve of his.
  11. But Bergevin saw otherwise, WHY...we may never know? I am not a fan of Jagr, but agree he seemed like would of be nice fit.
  12. Am sure you already know, but where born is sometimes irrelevant and can be dual citizen, is more dependant on who you have played for internationally for hockey purposes I think.
  13. Yes, I surely hope he isn't called at 26, in 2nd round would be fine, but a lot more skilled kids to pick before he. But, 6'5" d-man instantly gets some GMs attention, starts some fans drooling and hope Leafs take him at 24.
  14. Ahh yes I forgot Bracco had attitude warning also. Kylington struggled vs Canada in one game I saw broke down. Domi, McDavid made him look bad (but 2 kinda skilled forwards), pushed off puck and he had several costly plays. But when he took puck in open ice or backchecking, jumping into rush, the kid can really skate. Roy seemed like pretty slick player with puck, especially compared to a Carlo.
  15. His lack of 'intensity' and work effort is just cherry on top of Zillion dollar contract as well as feeding into Leaf rebuild that I would avoid. But 99.9% of us really don't have a clue what he is really like...similar to Jagr. Many HabFans see Jagr-Plekanec playin great together at world championship, Jagr is big, still productive and seems a perfect fit. But, Bergevin isn't ignorant to this stuff and must knows something we don't to avoid offering him a deal (wants too much $, Ego too big, wants term, too old slow-lazy, who knows exactly?) But, he may still take a run at Kessel, but doubt it. (see dlbalr post and seems even less likely and seems logical)
  16. Being competitive attracts free agents, stops local inhabitants from rioting when team loses 10 in a row and generally more entertaining to watch than 'Leaf-type' seasons. Also Hawks sucked for decades before finding smart Mgmt and luxury of some all-star top draft picks. Bruins also sucked for decades as did Kings and were overdue. And Florida, Oilers, Buffalo may follow suit down the road, if have smart managers. I guess adding Vanek last year, Smith-Pelly & Petry this year wasn't enough; but, no one really expected Habs to do much more than that at trade deadline...did they? Bergevin knew they likely didn't have firepower to score enough to win cup and not sure if trading prime assets would of been right move or not? I am fine they didn't sell farm at deadline, if Subban, Markov and a few forwards could of been more productive they might of gone farther, but no one really stepped it up.
  17. Bracco more a 2nd rounder they say in 40s-50s. Maybe size is hang up like Jets pick Petan? this is some video on him http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUhmZqQvYJI Most of picks in Hab range have 'shift by shift' video of one game's play; here is, I guess my leading candidate for 26, Brock Boeser (some video not HD) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9V_LBwbFL2o
  18. Dosent he have health issue? Eye/sight or something like that?
  19. I guess no surprise Oilers fire scouting dept.
  20. Saw noted Flynn and Habs are discussing a contract.
  21. Hmmm, TSN got the boot I guess and SN gets 1st round seems, NHLnetwork day 2. (or TVA sports also I think has coverage, but either will cost me same $4 or 5 one month) Would Jeremy Roy be a good option at 26? Will Kylington fall to 26, unlikely I assume? Supposed to be a super skating offensive d-man.
