  1. good points, I agree that selling for sake of selling and trading just because a player is valuable is not smart. There is a time to do them.
  2. Hi Chicoutimi Cucumber, I am replying to your post on the "By this logic" reply, but this is more to all that commented on my posts. My thinking is that prospects may be managed like a stock portfolio where you pickup as many assets considering the projected value that player may gain by the time he is ready to join the NHL roster. Of course, present value and current success is no warrant of future fit to the team's needs. Sometimes, teams may pickup the "best player available", sometimes they may pick based on "team needs", and sometimes they may take a "safe pick". or: "bluechip", "portolio-balancing" and "value" picks. In the case of a Kutcherov or Joshua Roy, those picks raised in value beyond expectations and need to be evaluated with regard to how they improve the NHL roster once they are part of it. In both cases, the cost spent on the pick (rank in draft) is much lower than what may be expected for the performance of players. In the case of Montembeault, the cost was "nil", and each of the wins he has provide to the team add to his value to the team. A decision needs to be made on how to best use that value and if it is better to sell high or to wait for him to turn into Budaj. That is my logic. === As for the proposed trade, I supported the person who posted the proposal as a trade I would make if the return helps the Habs get closer to winning a cup. But I have stated multiple times that my preference is to trade Allen even if it is for Camnpbell and some token prospect or pick.
  3. I don't have that hate for Quebec. I grew up in Montreal in the 80s and lived through the Good Friday brawl. I used to travel to Quebec often to visit my ex's family and it was fun to poke fun at each other. Quebec city has a wide basin of potential supporters, similar to Winnipeg from what I gather. I would like to see a franchise there instead of some insipid US city. Monty stole the game, Suzuki's line played well and, for his first game, Strubble played well.
  4. Yes, Strubble was good, reminds me a bit of Barron's first few games.
  5. Carbonneau and Gervais are praising Slaf’s game through 2 periods. They say is looks confident and making progress. I’ll believe them more than my own eyes, I do not see the same
  6. Strubble looks great for a first NHL game. I look forward from seeing how many games he can keep this level of play. Gallagher not looking out of place on the top line, compared to other options. But is is better suited foot 3rd line duty on a healthy team Habs are playing well
  7. Great result given how the lineup looks like right now
  8. I won’t comment on what he posts. I don’t see his posts
  9. Thank you, that seems the most likely scenario I made a trade proposal involving Allen; that is what I would prefer
  10. Lineup not looking good at all “ ils vont se faire manger tout ronds »
  11. I respect that view, but I am sharing a different view where assets are managed to “buy low and sell high” like Hughes mentionnés in one of his first interviews when he was hired On the long run, if the teams gains in player quality by getting a positive return on trades: it should see an improvement on the ice
  12. Dvorak seems to have returned fully healed. I am not sure if Guhle is 100% ; and if I recall correctly, Harris had missed some time with an undisclosed injury before returning and getting hurt. in Harris case I fear a concussion. He keeps absorbing hits to make plays, he seems to get trapped in the D-zone and to get crushed against the board too often to my liking I hope he can recover fully before returning; when he is “on” he is good
  13. I didn’t know Mesar had such a great shot. He is definitely a better winger than I expected
  14. That is why I am confused in the separation anxiety from trading him. it is not as if he makes the team better, he is good enough for the NHL but not more than that
  15. will he also have to pay at the rookie diner, or is it still only Strubble?
  16. maybe the problem was not the medical staff...
  17. that seems more like a dooms day scenario than a plausible worst case. The same way the Habs picked Montembeault from waivers is still plausible if the wheels fall off the bandwagon. One must consider the possibility that the Habs get valuable players in return for Montembeault. Hug-Gort have been able to make smart trades, if they trade Montembeault I am sure they will get a decent return. I am hopeful
  18. what's the worst that can happen from trading Montembeault? that they miss the playoffs? Allen can find consistency with more regular play and Primeau can share the workload and learn to be a backup in the NHL
  19. same here. that would be a huge return on a stopgap waiver pickup.
  20. Good point on Mysak, the few times I’ve watched LVL he shown energy on the plays and good forechecking. He seems to be shooting more but I am not sure he has much NHL-point potential https://www.habsworld.net/2023/11/rocket-weekly-a-good-showing-in-a-busy-week/
