I've lived in Ottawa since 2000, and I do not remember any of Garrioch's predictions concerning the Canadiens ever materializing.

I think we are starting to see the difference CJ makes on a team compared to MT. His patience is paying off with players we would have traded for low draft picks and AHLers. Shaw is playing very well, and despite the mental mistakes Petry and Morrow make most games, their paly has been improving. I am still not a fan of CJ, but I have to give him some credit for the progress the team is making.

That's what I'm talking about But with so many teams ahead of us, it is far from being done

They battled, and won. A couple more like this and they'll be challenging for an outsider shot at the playoffs.

Touché ! that's a good argument. I believe that Bergevin is it better than Houle. I cringe at some of his moves, but I have not reached your level of frustration ... yet

I am not delusional, but I do not think there is a GM ( of any language) that could come in tomorrow and turn this around . A battle hardened and experienced MB is as good as any

For me MB's comment in English _and_ French "if you want loyalty, buy a dog" summarized why there was no plan B. he was screwed by at least one of Radu or Markov... or both I think the Canadians as an organization is stashing cap money this year, rolling the dice with the current line up, but with eyes on 2018's free agents to build the team they want it sucks to be a CH fan right now, but it would be worst if we blew up the core or tanked for a re-build

I also think along the same lines. I believe the biggest need is for two solid top 4 D; and a top 6 player to play like we expected Chucky to play .., if he has plateau'ed I miss Markov too. That was a mistake

Despite the uproar from us and media for the poor season, I think that's what they'll go: do minor trades for picks and prospects and ride out the season in hopes of a miracle. In February or the summer they will be loaded to re-tool for good. I hate it that it has gotten to this point, but I do not see any other way how they can become contenders in the next 1-2 years without blowing up the core

I think that with schelemko's and Lehkonen's return the CH will have to make a trade instead of waiving a defenseman . Specially if they try to keep Hemsky (which I doubt) By Christmas this team should look better; but they will still be out of a playoff spot. I think they will ride this like when we drafted Chucky

Good luck to Mitchell in LA. He tried his best but wasn't a good fit in our 4th line. I am glad we may get our 4th draft pick back

Oh well, I have more pitty for him than hate. He is one of my favourites; and like Koivu, I think he is stuck being captain of a bad CH team. I do not think anyone on the roster could do a better job at being captain. I also think, like Galchenyuk, that because he is playing a role he is not good at (laying hits and forechecking checking) he will look "bad" despite giving it his best effort. There is no way he can win

Point taken, just stating what MB has said was the reason. That's how i explained to my kids who still don't understand and miss PK i miss PK when we lose because he would make a loss watchable; I still do not think this team would have been a contender with him in it
