  1. Finally, hockey is back. Go Habs Go, let's ruin the Leaf's cup parade from the start.
  2. that has always been my point. He is good, similar situation to Romanov who enabled the Habs to get Dach. A good problem to have, IMHO
  3. you are wise beyond your forum years ! I have run out of arguments 😂
  4. just making the argument for the fun of it: taking Armia is the price CBJ pays to get Harris, who IMHO has a higher ceiling than Bean. Timmins is in their organization and he may like to take a long shot on Armia regaining his old form if given a second chance. It buys CBJ some time before making further roster decisions, which is the type of flexibility they were looking for. I cannot see them trading Boqvist and Peeke doesn't fit with the MTL organization.
  5. ok, ok, 😁 got it for a minute I though that Harris would interest CBJ because he is waiver exempt where the three Ds they mention in th eX-post are not. Bean/Harris are interchangeable, where Harris may have a better offensive potential, Bean may be better suited to be a bottom-3 LD with Kovacevic on RD. Armia for Olivier is a contract swap two year contracts each with Olivier being a better suited player for the role Armia may have with the Habs: bottom-line grinder. Olivier would score as much as Armia, at a lower cap and he can be an old school goon when needed, sheltering Xhekaj.
  6. Bean is equivalent talent and a tad bigger, if I remember correctly he has been decent defensively.
  7. Habs PP is too cute, and likes to move the puck around the periphery. No direct attack pressure
  8. Mathieu Olivier is the wild card here, he has an interesting profile that the Habs do not have enough of. From Dobber: "Power forward winger that shows a strong net front presence and offensive touch around the net. Could have value in deeper fantasy leagues that count hits and penalty minutes." https://dobberprospects.com/player/mathieu-olivier/ He would be a great 1-2 punch with Pezzetta on the 4th line, or replacing him once he peters out
  9. no, but on a one year contract, he provides a similar level as Harris. Habs would clear cap space for next year, fee up a roster spot in Laval for the prospects and have a young depth LD to trade at the deadline
  10. RHP is not an NHL caliber PP forward, bless his soul when Caufield is clicking, the players at the point have been able to find him. Harris and Xhekaj are good passers. Matheson is a good QB but missed too many games. They've had puck carriers and average QBs over the years, but without the net presence, the goalies have had a clear look at the shot.
  11. now that Armia has cleared waivers: To CBJ: Armia ($2.25M/2yr, waived cap) and Harris ($1.4M/1yr) = $3.65M To MTL: Bean ($2.33M/1yr), Olivier ($1.1M/2yr) = $3.43M
  12. in my potato head, the first thing that comes to mind is the willingness to go to the front of the net and create obstruction, tap in rebounds. The Habs have had multiple Ds able to find the passing alleys but most forwards are peripheral players. Gallagher got crippled without an enforcer to protect him, Anderson is not that type of player, and we are still missing that type of player. Maybe Slafkovsky will become that player, but he doesn't seem to like the rough stuff
  13. you remembered that! wow 🤩 If I remember correctly, I saw him live at a Sens game, and was impressed on his mobility and offensive flair... seemed to be in the action on that game. must have been the peak of his career
  14. W-L-OTL-SOL: 38-38-3-3 = 82 points Atlantic #7 League #23 20 goal scorers: 5 Suzuki points: 76
  15. concussion then covid, probably long covid. He was good and useful when signed but due to circumstances he is now damaged goods.
  16. Rushed to NHL. A skilled forward in tight spaces, big body but not physical , not great defending , hyped
  17. It is unexpected and surprised from HughGort given how well he seems to have been managing assets
  18. He reminds me so much of Guillaume Latendresse
  19. https://www.rocketlaval.com/en/communique-en/nine-players-have-been-cut-from-training-camp/ Nine players have been cut from training camp October 6, 2023 LAVAL – The Laval Rocket announced on Friday that nine players have been cut from training camp, four forwards and five defensemen.
