Yes it would be our last spot for this year. Currently we have one open, and one spot will open on July 1st, 2024, and the other on July 1st 2025. With this proposed trade, wed have none for this season, but two would open on July 1st.

The thing with Brian's trade is that instead of retaining on Allen, we retain on Henrique. Meaning we get that spot back July 1st 2024 instead of 2025. Which also allows us to use the slot on a summer trade with Savard.

Markov only played 45 games that season due to knee injuries. MA Bergeron played the other half the season. Both Markov and Bergeron finished with 34 points, but Bergeron had 13 goald to Markov's 6. I love Markov but he wasnt the sole reason that PP was good. He only played about half the games. As for Gomez, his 59 points were the second most on the team. Gomez was decent that year. It was before he completely fell off the cliff. Sergei Kostitsyn had just 18 points and Andrei just 33. They were big disappointments after coming up big in 2008 (andrei) and 2009 (sergei). Maxpac didnt want to stay in the minors. He played the full year in the NHL and struggled. The season you are thinking of was the next one, when he went to the minors was scoring a goal per game in the AHL. Came up and was our best goal scorer (though not gpg) and then Chara broke his neck. That was 2011. The Metro.season was 2010. So.i think you have your years a little mixed up here.

Yes they couldnt score at ES. They had the 2nd best PP in the entire league though, so clearly Metro being part of the PP wasnt problem.

However stuff sold in other stores not owned directly by the team goes into a pool and the pool is split 1/32 to each NHL team. Most teams are going 4 fwds and 1 D on the PP as it shows better results than 3 and 2. I would expect one on each PP unit. You have two units. Our 8th best forward should be more offensive than the 3rd best defenceman, especially by the time the two of them are ready. 8fwds if both units are 4-1 3rd defenceman if one unit is 3-2 and the other is 4-1

He is a great option, but I wouldn't hand him PP1 over Hutson just yet.

Groin looks possible. Others are saying achilles. He seemed to be grabbing his calf which does suggest Achilles but im no doctor. We wont know til the team says more but it seems to be lower body.

I dont see how pointing out that a poster had had a narrative that has been against MSL and Hughes/Gorton since the day they were hired is uncivil and/or bullying. Devils have a ton of cap room with Hamilton on LTIR. They could take David Savard easily with no retention in this type of a trade. Of course we have Allen if they want a goalie or Armia for forward but neither is worth Holtz. We would have to add to those deals.
