  1. I think the unexpected Gally's a healthy Markov's co-production more than covered it.
  2. Trade Markov. Get gone Kaberle. Offer sheet Voynov. Hm?
  3. Wowie! Congrats to Pernell Karl Subban on becoming the first black Norris trophy winner* in NHL history. Pioneer, trend setter, game changer and now Norris winner*. I was hoping MB was going to lock him to a longer Pacioretty type deal during their negotiations. Now looks like PK will have free(ish) reign* on salary demands. Rightfully so. We're gonna be seeing some exciting hockey for the next foreseeable future, folks. I wish I could Kryo-sleep* until June 28th. (I'd need the weekend to thaw and hydrate.) *dislcaimer: False? forgetaboutit.
  4. Im sure the Isles coulda offered him 5.5 and he still woulda walked. He wants to be in a win now situation.
  5. I think Kolzig would be the complete package in regards to Price.. on and off the ice. Gotta make it happen MB!
  6. Never implied otherwise. Although, Im of the opinion that making guys feel at home should be a priority, not the priority per say. For example, getting Boedker or Hansen to play with Eller. Able to speak his native tongue on and off the ice. Would be a benefit imo. Same with Plek, who hasn't had anyone to chat in Czech with since Hamr & Spacek. These are aspects that are not vital but, imo make a difference. For example, if Markov were not a Hab, would Emelin be here? Just an aspect to chew on that I feel is pertinent. All in all chemistry is a funny thing..
  7. I'd rather see Hemsky/Havlat on a line with Plek and Bork rather than Gio. When have the Habs ever had an established Czech winger to work with Plek and exploit his offensive ability? Imo soft or not, its an avenue I personally hope they explore.
  8. I think it would be suicidal to trade a local stud like Seth Jones away. Not a very pc first significant move by Sakic. Do you think perhaps Lighting management and fans look back and wish they had drafted Evander Kane or Steve Duchene? Paul Stastny on the other hand is a chip Id look to invest in. Especially considering his previous chemistry with Pacioretty. I'd offer a whole line-up for MacKinnon. Bourque-Desharnais-Kristo Ellis-Diaz *even MacMillan or Holland too if necessary.. *and the rights to Weber, Blunden, Tokarski and/or Stejskal.. if they want.. *and a late round pick or two.. If that failed, I'd go for Marleau and see if Clowe likes that..
  9. So, uh, who wouldn't like to see Yakupov and Galchenyuk reunited on the Habs? What would that take? DD or Plek with Markov and Diaz or Weber and some seconds or one of Dietz, Thrower, Pateryn or Bennett.. or Maybe either of Collberg or Kristo. I personally feel there are tones of options to move up in the draft or trade for a young stud. Lots of tradable vets. Good second tier D prospects. Some possiblle offensivly elite smallish wingers. Realistically... we cant have a roster with DD, Gallagher, Kristo, Collberg and Hudon. Imo, the time is right, and Bergevin should put his stamp on this team with a quality move and consolidate some resources. I also think that Detroit knocking out Chicago could be a blessing in disguise..
  10. Yea, Thrower was pretty aggressive on the play but dude was taking the inside. Thrower had to adjust his angle, unfortunately he had his head down. A bad combination of decisions at high speed. Like a squat to dodge a kick in the groin.
  11. Scenerio.. Crawford is from Montreal.. and older than Price. If this was the basis of a trade.. who would Chicago have to throw in to match value?
  12. Im banned from Hockebuzz until 2027. How very ambitious of them! lmao
  13. I could see him shedding salary and unloading some vets for picks. Moen, DD, Gionta and maybe even Plekanec. Never mind Weber, Diaz perhaps Kaberle and maybe even Gorges. Although, I think Plek and Gorges would be involved in players coming back, not picks.
  14. definitely not only about size. Imo its about complete players. Also, as Bergevin mentioned many times.. balance. Although, Im of the opinion that carrying a big man playing 8-12 mins a game is a good option to have. Especially if you have the depth where he can sit (depending on opponent) and another 'one dimensional' player can step in and be effective in thier role. Hopefully Ian Schultz gets into gear this offseason. Size, imo is needed in the bottom pairing and bottom 6. First.. there's no use carrying an offensive Dman like Kaberle or Weber as if Dman goes down, offense is the least of your worries. See Emelin. Again, imo, Fistric is that young vet that we require on that bottom pairing. Fits the mold of what is needed on ice, and the team concept moving forward as per Bergevin. Secondly.. Habs are in dire need to fill the role of Moen. Lapierre would be a smart move. My personal move would be Bickell or Nystrom or even both if I could shed some salary. Might I add.. Clearly Gallagher is here to stay. I'd don't forsee a sophmore slump with his effort level and fortitude, points aside, he'll be effective. Now, with him as a roster lock.. one of either DD or Gionta has to go. Quota for this stature should be limited to one spot on each of the top 2 lines. There is no other need for that dynamic and imo is a detriment to the overall effectiveness of the team's structure and balance.
  15. Bickell & Fistric. Musts. Nystrom as well, maybe, if possile, too lol
  16. Write the CRTC!! https://services.crtc.gc.ca/pub/Intervention/Submission-Soumission.aspx?lang=e&EN=2012-370&ET=N#SE0
  17. Wow. I have nothing more to add.. cause it wont be nice. ...Thanks... James Wolfe.
  18. Not sure why people whom all have the same facts feel like over fact-ing one another all the time. Is this a discussion board or a do people like dropping the same facts over and over make them feel more Pierre McGuire. My comparison is Robinson, regardless of his desires. Would make Therrien's job harder during a tough season. Just as say, Mathieu Garon playing a good stretch of games playing behind Price, would have the same effect on both Therien and Price. But Robinson...
  19. Therrien wanted Robinson on his staff as much as Price wants a francophone backup.
  20. Shiiiiii I say we send Galy back to Jr. to DESTROY IT! No matter how good he looks at camp.
  21. I hear ya but, times change. Im personally not confident in Eller playing top 6 unless its at center. Especially as a fill measure to play with Plek & Gio. Just to complete a line, kinda deal. Its not in Eller's ability to play wing, just the cohesion of the line and moreover concern for Eller's development. Regardless, as I mentioned, the 4th line center is a piece that has enigmatically eluded the Habs for a while. And ever more an issue glaring on the side of an epidemic with some having Noke notched in as their starter. Hopefully.. a Moore, Halpern or even a healthy Betts who played with Prust in nyc... would definitely make me feel better than the lingering top 6 "issue" right now.
  22. DD Plek Eller Arnott Not too many centers left to fill checking roles.. or any roles for that matter.. unless you like Brule or Langkow. Noke will not be penciled in as a starter. Does White have the foot speed or faceoff ability to play center again? Otherwise, there's a problem. Im thinking Arnott would be a solid option playing limited minutes ES. And be good for spot checks or matchups in the top 6 /PP or when a RH shot is better suited for face-offs.
  23. I watch the vid on HIO of Eller's 4 goal game last season. You saw the confidence oozing out from under his modest meekness. Its hard not to notice Kostitsyn flying around looking like a young Kovy. I had hoped that Eller and AK would've been kept together to work on the obvious chemistry they had with Moen. I still reserve a little hope that they'll be reunited before the start of the season.
