  1. See, I told you guys. Hopefully he earned a bit of your respect back. Beating the eventual Stanley Cup champs... who although under-manned, still managed 47 shots!
  2. It`s about time for Aebischer. He`s due. He`s too good to not break out of his slump soon. Maybe tonight.
  3. Just spend our windfall from the Theodore trade and sign Zdeno Chara. It`s all about Chara... he makes everyone around him better... and is one scary player to play against in so many ways! Forget about Streit and Francis.
  4. I think you just jinxed yourself by saying that! Habs win 3-2 (Begin, Murray, Dandenault), (Alberts 2)
  5. D. Markov, Kuba, Kubina? No thanks. Spend the money and get the big guy. Chara. We've got enough young, inexpensive talent to be able to afford a real player. A guy who plays 25 minutes, scores, hits, and most of all... intimidates. Montreal needs a game-breaker, not a bunch of average guys. If there aren't any offensive game-breakers on the market, get the best defenseman in the game. Big Zdeno! With Plekanec, Higgins, Perezhogin, and Komisarek having full years under their belt next year, they'll be as good or better than most you'd be able to sign... and more importantly, reasonably priced. Arnott has been playing for 11 years, he's an old 31 year old... how soon til he becomes Trevor Linden.
  6. Everyone seems to be worried about who we may play in the playoffs. I'm wondering how many teams are worried that they may face us in the playoffs! We're famous for having goalies who steal series... maybe Huet is the next in line.
  7. I want Aebischer in the net tonight.... and I want Chara as a signing this summer.... the best defenceman in the game, without a doubt! He can do it all. These are the games they have to win... let's get it done!
  8. Markov for me! Huet has still only played in half of our games.
  9. That pass to Begin last night in the Isles game from behind the net was the sweetest I've seen in years, by anyone. Too bad that Begin couldn't put it home.
  10. Let's win this game tonight... in a short time, the schedule starts to get harder. Plus, if we creep into 6th place, then TB may get a little frantic again... and they looked bad until recently. Maybe they'll fall again with these injuries. I'll predict a 4-2 habs victory.
  11. It's only a few games, boys... luckily a career isn't made or lost over a few games or Gretzky would have been done when he went 3 straight games without a point.
  12. So basically Weight for a first rounder. The rest is just filler.
  13. You guys all speculate too much. This isn't a fantasy league. Big trades are rare trades.
  14. Gainey is safer than safe. You'd have to be a fool to believe he's going anywhere in the next decade. Negativity breeds negativity (this board for example with all of the bashing towards our boys), the team just needs a few breaks and things will be back on track. It all starts with a period. And beating Philly and then losing to Ottawa isn't a bad feat. I mean Ottawa is hands-down the best team in the league... we are 2-4-0 against them this season... not many teams can say that... brighter days ahead kids, brighter days ahead. Believe!
  15. Excellent! I love Aaron Downey. Cheap, about $450,000. And a solid hard nose player. Similar to Chris Neil in Ottawa.
  16. They just fired Julien because him and Theodore weren't clicking... I'd say a trade would be ridiculous now. Gainey already picked sides and has had Theodore in the net for 2 victories against 2 good teams... seems Theodore is paying Gainey back for his confidence.
  17. As with Sykora, why do these rumours appear just as they're headed for the injured reserve list?
  18. Hainsey has been called up according to TSN... we'll see if he's claimed before noon
  19. Brodeur was the product of a system... the system doesn't work any more... especially once the quality of defense on NJ has disappeared. Combine it with the fact that he's getting older, I think he's a shaky choice for #1... at least we don't have to listen to Cujo talk anymore.
  20. I'm not a Dagenais fan, but that shootout goal was a sweet sight. Shooters do have a purpose. Give him some time on the second PP and use him in shootouts. As Mont Royale said, no point wasting rookies as giving them virtually no development opportunities.
  21. He's a young goalie, send him down so he can get a few starts, then bring him back up when he's needed and definitely ready. Makes sense.
  22. Maxim LaPierre was the heart and soul of an average PEI Rocket team the past few years here. Always giving everything he had on every shift. Always stood out as a solid player. Much more polished than Bonneau and Urquhart when they were here at the same time.
  23. 8-4 Habs. Those Penguin pylons on defense can't deal with our speed.
