  1. i think he should apologize any time you tell fans to f off with the prices we pay..Houle and tremblay may owe even more apologies for what they did to my team.. but for the love of the game..we put up with his huge ego because of his huge talent..why would we be putting up with it this time..fond memories if hes not bringing somethign to the table theat we are in short supply of then he can do what he promised and never play another game for the habs..on or off the ice. its not like were the friggin leafs and great players are so hard to come by as ambassadors that we have to looking for them...heck we even gave them ken dyden cuz they havent had a goalie since the 60's
  2. chicago is stacked on defenseive prospects.. i would love to get on and get rid of ribs and ryder at the same time. would totally throw in a second round draft pick if they are nhl ready. its not like kristian huselius is going to be any mor inconsistent than dag or ribs
  3. which is not to say that if a great deal is there we shouldnt..just that if ozolinsh was going to help us it already would have been done. In gainey we trust
  4. with or without injuries we are in desperate need of defensive help or upgrading.. that still doesn't mean Gainey is going to go out and do something stupid. It is those kind of desperate moves that make mike milbury the favorite GM (as voted on by his peers) You can have a great up and coming team with solid prospects and decent veterans but if you dont have the patience to wait for thr right move then you will just throw it all away (spezza chara luongo and no yashin would make the islanders a pretty damn scary team right now..) Ozolish might be ok but it is more likely that the new nhl has exposed holes in his game which are compounded by age. If you need another example just see how gonchar is doing this year as compared to his usual league leading point total for defenseman. I say stick with what weve got for christs sake. we are still an over 500 club..with young guys who are just starting to find themselves
  5. yeah robidas is still playing well this year..the new nhl is really helping his game..which was pretty good to begin with
  6. Its either him or pleks that is the fastest on the team..I love both and it got me thinking..What about a rookie second line..they would be great and fun to watch..higgins and pleks are both steady enough defensively to make up for any shortcomings in the experience dept. that would place ryder on the first line with koivu and we would finally get to see whether he was just the best goal scorrer on the second line or if he has true 1st line shot caliber.
  7. P.S>unfortunately for that to happen he has to get some playing time.. look for him to start against ateam in the market for a backup goalie.n'est pas?
  8. P.S>unfortunately for that to happen he has to get some playing time.. look for him to start against ateam in the market for a backup goalie.n'est pas?
  9. Huet is simply an insurance possibillity against Danis not being NHL ready.. now that its shown that he can play he will be the backup next year for sure and this year if Huet can be unloaded for a little return somewhere.
  10. With Markov gone for 3 games I think we will have to call someone in from hamilton..possibly Benoit..He has supposedly been doing really well down there and I think he can be no worse than Streit. It would be nice to give Hainsey another chance but we'd have to expose him to waivers..not happening. All i can say is that i remember when boullion and robidas first got called up.. situation just like this..nobody expected anything and they turned out great. Heres hoping
  11. We have to pull it out against buffalo..they are really starting to piss me off.
  12. yeah great goal but why is this being discussed in the habs section...
  13. everybody, including the refs (burn in hell fraser)..need time to adjust to this new NHL. I do think however that if a coach reviews game tape and a player is found to have obviously deved it should not be just a fine but a suspension...Nobody in the nhl cares that much about a 1000$ fine.. miss a game and hurt your team though.. People might think twice.
  14. I think that only works in baseball..even so i would rather have him against the kings..
  15. Do me a favor if you get the game puck..have it signed by the habs and then wait outside the rink and hurl it as hard as you can at JP Dumonts head..perhaps another concussion will have him thinking more realisticaly about his teams chances of beating the mighty habs
  16. No offence taken... I just dont want people thinking im bashing on Brodeur..I love brodeur
  17. Either that or you could just pray every night real hard that Rejean Houle becomes the Next GM of the Capitals.
  18. You know im all about getting rid of ribs but with his point totals last year and his moderate pointage this year..not to mention his youth I really think that there is a complete idiot GM out there just waiting to give up way to much to aquire him..All we need is the type of guy who makes trades just because of a bad game or gives away draft picks for useless and overpriced hacks or maybe trades up in the draft to get a really great goalie and then trades him away for a bag of pucks... If only ... oh wait..Mike milbury...if ever there was a bad trade waiting to happen...
  19. Half the team wont be in the lineup including the starting goalie..only thing that worries me is that french canadians like Martin Biron always elevate their game to play montreal. The only thing to do is put the hurt on them early and often.. if you can shake him in the first then its smooth sailing against a team that doesn't have a hope in hell in beating us when were hot. Take that Buffalo. Bold prediction Mon 6 Buf 2 Seriously
  20. Good point option.. Its hard to have a rivalry with a team that hasn't been able to compare to yours in 38 years.. if anything leafs fans should get more heated to play us..personally i am dissapointed in this season because i always get riled up for games vs. the red wings. In this new Nhl though I guess the senators are the next big thing. When you want your team to dominate you dont hope they win against columbus st louis or toronto..you want them to measure up to ottawa detroit philly and the kings.
  21. Article in the Gazette today talking about how ironic it was that in this new Rocket Richard biopic Avery plays a goon who insults The Rocket for being french and then gets his ass handed to him by The Rocket himself... They say that at the premiere people jumped out of their seats clapping... Maybe an omen of things to come..the ghost of Maurice Richard will rise up on Dec. 3 and inhabit the body of Raitis Ivanans... Who will promptly deliver the most memorable bitch slapping at the bell center ever...with of course, his trusty visor
  22. I feel like maybe this thread is going a little of topic. The fact is that Dagenais is a marginal NHL player who had the misfortune of starting his career right before the new rules came in. If it werent for the premium now placed on speed then his sniping abilities and large frame would make him a decent player..as it is hes too much of a liability defensively for what meager offerings he does bring to the table. All of that aside..with the large number of injuries we are seeing develop over the course of this season I just feel that his presence here takes up a roster spot that could be filled by a player with much better all around skills that would be useful to the team in many more ways. If he were not french canadian from montreal then RDS TQS LA PRESSE and the journal would have been hollering for his head for months now.
  23. If you would read again more carefully what was written you will notice that I already said that Brodeur is the #1 guy for Canada. He is all about big game consistency..its where he lives. However if you look at the other THREE possibles:Theo Luongo and Turco.. then you might understand why amongst them I say that Theo is the only one who has proven he can elevate his play for big games. Therefore with the possibility that Brodeur might (wont happen) slump or be injured (serious concern with the number of games he is required to play for N.J.) then having aproven big game goalie on hand would be essential n the backup role. I hate to repeat myself but maybe this will help to clarify things for you.
