  1. Bob Mackenzie reports its a six year, 30 million dollar deal.
  2. how many years is the deal for? 5 million seems about right. I'd have preferred a bit less, but Plekanec's definitely leaves money on the table by agreeing to terms before reaching UFA.
  3. hockeysfuture has Eller as the #2 prospect in the Blues system, behind Alex Pietrangelo. Playmaking, two-way centre. Schultz is rate #17, projects as a power forward, physical grinder player.
  4. Lebrun tweeted that we're getting Lars Eller and Ian Schultz.... that would be disappointing, at least upon initial review.
  5. holy crap! out of nowhere.... what's the return??
  6. Can't remember where I saw it but someone made an interesting argument for Muller and Boucher swapping jobs next year. Muller wants head coaching experience, and boucher would get NHL experience and could even set up some sort of an agreement where he transitions to the HC over time, as Martin transitions to the management side.
  7. That news is now being confirmed across the board. It'll be interesting to see where he goes from here.
  8. Eric Engels just tweeted that Boucher has turned down the job....
  9. Id love to see us go and target someone like tomas holmstrom from detroit. We've been missing the front of the net physical presence for far too long, and this guy is the best in the biz.
  10. If Martin doesn't swap Bergeron for O'Byrne then he's an idiot. MAB has been terrible in this series. If he wont shoot on the powerplay, and continues to turn the puck over, then what the hell good is he???
  11. CBC put up an amazing stat last night. habs are first in the playoffs with blocked shots with 310 (ish) and the 2nd place team is only at 190. They have 120+ more shot blocks than any other team in the playoffs!!!
  12. Moore and the Cons are idiots, don't worry the Libs have our backs .
  13. As I suspected. 45.4 million people watched the draft over the weekend. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...ched-the-draft/
  14. SUBBAN! Just called up for the game tonight!!!
  15. After looking at the full draft class for my Bills I have to admit I'm very happy: 1. CJ Spiller -not the biggest need on the team, but arguably the most dangerous player in the entire draft. Believe it or not, this guy ran a FASTER 40 time than Chris Johnson did. 2. Torrell Troup -bit of a reach here IMO, but Troup will be a solid NT in the new 3-4, guys is young, plays hard and anchors well against the run. 3. Alex Carrington -Steal of the draft for the Bills I think. He is the perfect 5 technique DE who should be able to play right from day one. 4. Marcus Easley With Josh Reed and Owens gone they needed depth at WR. Easley has shown a ton of determination to get this far and he should be an excellent slot receiver. 5. Ed Wang -another steal, Wang has a ton of Left Tackle potential. Graded out as a 3rd round pick, getting him in the 5th is a huge get for the team. Now the bills will have a Wang, Wood and Levitre starting on their offensive line . 6. Arthur Moats -A DE in college, Moats will play at inside linebacker for the Bills and has the size to do it. I love drafting these small school stars because generally they have so much untapped potential. 6. Danny Batten -Another small school DE, except he will end up playing as an outside linebacker, great pass rushing instincts gives us good depth here. 7. Levi Brown Finally a QB. Small school, lots of potential, long term project who can easily be the #3 QB for a while. 7. Kyle Calloway Graded as a 3rd-4th round prospect, getting him in the 7th is excellent value. Played RT in college, but likely a guard in the pros. I know that most will criticize the Bills for not drafting a QB, but here's how I see it. There's no way that we're contending this season. Looking at the Jets, Pats and Fins we know that this will be a lost year. I fully expect to be drafting in the top five next season. Anybody who knows anything about football will tell you that next year's QB class projects as being one of the best in the last ten years. Jake Locker - Washington Andrew Luck - Stanford Ryan Mallett - Arkansas Pat Devlin - Delaware I fully expect one of these guys to be a Bill next year.
  16. I don't get the ESPN coverage much here, but I've really enjoyed watching the NFL network coverage. For my money, Mike Mayock is the best draft analyst in the business.
  17. I would put good money down that tonight's 2nd/3rd round ratings FAR exceed the ratings for similar rounds in past years. It wont be as high as last night for round one, but i think they numbers will surprise you. I know i'll be watching.
  18. I'm a bit iffy on the Spiller pick. Clearly he's an elite talent, guy runs a 4.3 40 and had 51 TDs in college. Many scouts compare him to Chris Johnson, expect (if you can believe this) a little bit faster. The bills wanted a playmaker and certainly got it. My concern is that RB wasn't really a draft need. They needed help at OT, NT, QB, WR, OLB and DE and instead went with a position where they have a good starter and backup already. Lynch apparently wants to be traded but he has no trade value right now. I wouldn't be shocked to see them keep Lynch and Jackson and use Spiller in a Leon Washington role at first, change of pace guy, split him out wide on passing downs, return kicks and punts. I'm hoping the bills can grab an OT this round, Saffold would be nice, or a NT like Cody. BTW, talking about draft ratings, looks like the primetime move was a successful one: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...ime-time-draft/ I'll be curious to see what the 2nd/3rd round ratings are.
  19. I have a feeling it'll be Dan Williams as well, which I'd be ok with. We desperately need a long-term NT, and I dont think Kyle Williams can handle the position regularly. Ideally we'd end up with one of the OT's (Okung, T. Williams, or bulaga). What will be really interesting will be if Clausen is still there at #9, as well as Dan Williams and one of the OT's. I really think that Gailey is high on Tebow (he's the perfect QB for Gailey's offensive system) so I don't expect them to take Clausen.
  20. Oh man Im so excited about the draft today. Love the move to primetime, I think its really going to increase interest in the 2nd and 3rd round. Most people in the past would only watch the 1st round and then catch the highlights later. Having the 2nd/3rd on a Friday evening should boost the viewership big time! GO BILLS!
  21. next year addition by subtraction... Hamrlik out, Subban in.
  22. hehe I'd hope he's focused on the game he's playing right now vs. Manitoba
  23. O'byrne's in and Darche is out, looks like that means MAB goes to the 4th line. Unless Spacek doesn't play, which would make for an awful jumbling of the D pairings.
