on a talent level this is a great trade for the Jets. Holmes is a pro bowl calibre WR and to have him for a 5th is a steal. He'll be a UFA after this season so this is really just a tryout for him. On another level though you have to wonder if the Jets disregard for character issues among players may come back to hurt them. How many "bad attitude" guys can a team handle before getting over run. That's not to say this will push them over the edge, but look at four of their major additions in the last year: Cromartie - major attitude issues, multiple children with multiple partners, failure to pay child support Tomlinson - attitude problem, many accuse him of having a me-first attitude and not being a team player Edwards - attitude problem, charged with assault outside of cleveland nightclub Holmes - attitude problem, locker room issues in Pittsburgh, now being suspended four games for substance abuse.

I hear you, listen I lump Coulter in the same category as people on the left like Noam Chomsky and Naomi Klein. They're all sensationalists only in it to better promote themselves and line up that next lucrative book deal, speaking engagement, tv appearance, etc. These people are an insult to REAL academics who try to legitimately further global discourse on difficult issues.

The difference though is that when its said on a show like South Park its with humour intended. Is it still offensive, of course, but the overall intention isn't necessarily to offend. Coulter thrives on conflict and tension, she makes those comments because it helps advance her profile and get her media attention. it is however a testament to our society that people like her are given the opportunity to speak, even if we dont like what she is saying, she has the right to say it. I can think of a few countries where this right is not granted to its citizens.

Wooo Bills signed Dwan Edwards too, arguably the 2nd best DE available on the open market, and easily the best 3-4 DE. Defence is getting better against the run, that's for sure.

From what I read LT didn't want to sign with the Vikings because of the uncertainty at quarterback. Favre wouldn't commit to him that he was coming back or not, and he didn't want to end up on a team with Tarvaris Jackson as its starting QB. I'm not saying that LT is a bad fit with the Jets, I just think TJ could've filled the same role. You also have to wonder where they're going to be fining enough carries for their starter (Greene), their backup (LT) and their change of pace guy (Washington). I wonder if the Jets would let washington walk if he were to get signed to an offer sheet and just take the 2nd rounder. Also Bills signed Andra Davis today which makes me very happy. Very underrated inside linebacker in the 3-4 and solid against the run. Buffalo's run defence has been putrid the last few years so hopefully this is a step in the right direction.

LT signing with the Jets is interesting. Granted I hate them, but I just dont see what LT brings that they didn't already have in Thomas Jones. Not to mention that Jones has way less wear on his body than LT does. Bills have Dwan Edwards and Andra Davis in buffalo today, hopefully we can look these two guys up. Two experienced vets who have played in the 3-4 are key in making the defensive transition.

Seems as though they're prepared to go wtih Matt Leinert. I wouldn't be shocked if they sign someone like Dante Culpepper just in case, either that or draft someone in the late rounds.
