  1. It's already being talked about in the Frenzy thread but since it's a Hab signing, it gets its own thread. $850,000 for the 1 year.
  2. Link EDIT: There might be a blackout for people not in the region for Sportsnet East. Looking that up. People seem to be adamant there will be a blackout. Sportsnet East gets you 39 games alone.
  3. It's already being discussed in the arbitration thread but this warrants its own thread. 8 years, $72 million for Subban. http://www.habsworld.net/article.php?id=3470
  4. http://lastwordonsports.com/2014/07/24/lars-eller-signs-four-year-3-5m-per-year-montreal-canadiens/ Official. Friedman had the breakdown of 2.5, 2.5, 4.25, 4.75
  5. Wow, actual news to talk about. Scherbak signed his entry level deal today. If he doesn't play in more than 9 games this year, the contract won't kick in until 2015-16 at the very least.
  6. http://lastwordonsports.com/2014/06/23/montreal-canadiens-sign-andrei-markov-three-year-deal/ http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=723488 PRESS RELEASE MONTREAL – Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced Monday that the team has agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension with defenseman Andrei Markov (2014-15 to 2016-17). “We are very happy to have secured a long term agreement with Andrei. He is an important part of our group of core players. He is healthy, shows a very good work ethic and has great leadership skills. He plays big minutes against the top opponents, and game-changing defensemen of his calibre are hard to find” said Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin. “I am very pleased to be a member of the Montreal Canadiens organization for the coming years. I love Montreal and I am very confident in our group of players. I want to contribute to the success of our team,” said Andrei Markov. In 81 games with the Canadiens in 2013-14, Markov totaled 43 points (7 goals, 36 assists). He tallied two goals on the powerplay and scored one winning goal. The 6’00’’ and 201 lbs defensemen recorded 131 shots on goal and a +12 differential, while averaging 25:14 of ice time per game. The veteran defenseman added ten points (1 goal, 9 assists) in 17 playoffs contests. Markov, 35, has produced 442 points (98 goals, 344 assists) in 765 regular season contests since his NHL debut with the Montreal Canadiens in 2000-01. He has scored 51 powerplay goals, three shorthanded tallies and 18 winning goals. He shows 29 points (4 goals, 25 assists) in 71 playoff games throughout his career. A native of Voskresensk, Russia, Markov was drafted by the Canadiens in the sixth round, 162nd overall at the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. He suited up for Russia at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, 2006 in Torino and 2010 in Vancouver. Friedman says AAV is $5.75M
  7. 2 years, $5.6 million. There's the Gorges replacement.
  8. Confirmed as per RDS 3 yearss X 4.25M
  9. Seriously? This had to be done today? Glad he signed, wish it could have happened next week...
  10. Just got the press release http://lastwordonsports.com/2014/05/30/canadiens-sign-dalton-thrower/
  11. Some good news for the future as today, Greg Pateryn signed a two year extension; both years are at the respective NHL minimums. 14-15: $550,000 NHL, $85,000 AHL (two-way deal) 15-16: $575,000 NHL (one-way) Cap hit of $562,500. For those wondering, he is waiver exempt next season but will need to clear waivers for 2015-16. Now that you've seen this tidbit, go back to tonight's GDT. http://www.habsworld.net/article.php?id=3389
  12. Daniel Carr and Connor Crisp sign ELCs. Scouting Reports on both. http://lastwordonsports.com/2014/04/24/scouting-reports-habs-signees-daniel-carr-connor-crisp/

  14. It's minor news but hey, a signing is a signing. The Habs have signed QMJHL tough guy Jack Nevins to an entry level contract. From what I understand, since he was 20 when the season began, he'll burn the first year of his ELC this year even though he's in junior. http://www.habsworld.net/article.php?id=3266
  15. Habs just announced a one year deal for Douglas Murray. Curious to see the price tag but a good fill-in for Emelin while he comes back from surgery.
  16. The Habs announced after the scrimmage today that 2nd rounder Zach Fucale signed an entry-level contract. He'll be eligible for a contract slide and won't count against the 50 this year. http://www.habsworld.net/article.php?id=3189
  17. It took an awful long time but Dustin Tokarski finally signed a one year contract. Financial terms aren't yet known but I'm anxious to see how close the NHL portion is to his qualifying offer. http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=680461
  18. Dreger is reporting that Desharnais has been extended. No details yet.
  19. Per Renaud Lavoie, Gabriel Dumont has inked a two year, two way deal with the Habs. 13-14: $550k/$125k 14-15: $575k/$175k https://twitter.com/RenLavoieRDS/statuses/355012369019179008
  20. The good news? The Bulldogs get some scoring help and grit. The bad news? 2 more years of Robert Mayer. St. Pierre: http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=676942 Tarnasky: http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=676938 Mayer: http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=676936
