Pierre the Great
It's football. Sometimes it rains. I wish they'd get rid of the half time show. We're watching football, not a concert. I for one have never watched a half time show. Then again, I also don't watch the commercials. The Super Bowl isn't a football game. Yes they are going to stop going to open air stadiums. If there is a reason why they don't play the game in the elments anymore. The commericals have been boring unimaginative. The censorship has hit an all time low. I'm not a fan of Prince at all but wow I've never seen a performance where the singer wasn't allowed to sing their own songs. I swear I thought I was in China for a moment. johnnyhasbeen
Yep, and sometimes it snows, I prefer outdoor games, adds an element.
Fanpuck33
Blah blah blah censorship blah blah blah. Censorship hasn't made the commercials boring and unimaginitive. The awesome commercials from years ago wouldn't be censored today. The Budweiser frogs wouldn't be censored today. Nor the football playing horses. Or the wassup guys. The problem is poor marketing, people trying too hard. Censorship has nothing to do with how good or bad the commercials are. P.S. The NHL should go 50-50 with Microsoft and put the Lecavalier/Richards commercial on during the game.

Psh, You're boring and unimaginative. I'm with Fanpuck on the Half-Time show. I can't remember watching one that I enjoyed. Actually, I don't really watch them, I usually get up and do something else depending where I am. If I'm at a bar, I'll play pool. At home, usually fire up a video game. But they really do need to do away with it. Do you have any proof they're going to stop going to open stadiums? Because I've heard all along that the NFL enjoys the elemental part of the game. I'd say the fans like it too but since when has the NFL cared what fans want. And the fact there is no mention of it at all after doing some searching. jetsniper
Woohoo! Colts win! Congrats to three guys in particular, two of which had no bearing on the game whatsoever. Dan Federkeil Terrence Wilkins and finally... Peyton Manning! MVP: Dominic Rhodes is my guess. Wonder how much Edge is liking Arizona. Fanpuck33
Well done, Colts. Peyton now can finally take his place over Brady. He was already the better QB, and now that he's won the big one, Brady's got nothing on him. Season is finally over. Your season was done in like Week 8, after you stopped checking your team. Did you even realize you made the quarterfinals in the league?
Pierre the Great
No super bowl besides the first one has been played in the 'elements'. And I don't like halftime shows either but this one was beyond silly. I'm not even a fan of Prince nor never have been. But if I was I'd be angry. He was forced to play covers of bands and only got to play a little bit of one of his own songs. The commericals are unimaginative now because advertising people are afraid they'll be rejected. The blockbuster mouse thing? That was a commercial 5 years ago. boring. Nothing imaginative nothing funny, horrible night. Coke ads were dumb I hate Bud ads I hate SUV/Truck porn I hate GM because they are a joke I hate Ford because they are a bigger joke Another waste of my night. jetsniper
*ignores last post* Surprised Peyton was named MVP. I mean, I voted for him just to give him a better shot but I didn't think he'd get it. Ah well, makes the night that much better for me. Your season was done in like Week 8, after you stopped checking your team. Did you even realize you made the quarterfinals in the league? Man, I really tanked it down the stretch. I don't even remember what my team was but my QB (was it Eli) really let me down and since there were so many teams, the FA pool had absolutely no talent for me to replace him with. I'm never taking Eli Manning again until he can prove he can play a full season.
Pierre the Great
Peyton had a horrible game.
jetsniper
250+ yards passing and a completion % of 65.7 is horrible? What planet do you live on? Rex Grossman had a horrible game. Peyton had a normal game.
Pierre the Great
his qb rating was 80 something. The real MVP's are the two running backs both had over 100 yards against the best run defense in the league.
Quebecois
That Sucks, lost 5 bucks on that game lol. Great first quarter, but the excitement couldnt quite last for the whole game. The 4th was exciting and disappointing since i was cheering for the Bears. That Grossman INT for a TD has to be one of the worst throws in super bowl history... But he didn't have a horrible game. At all. His stats are still fairly good. And only Rhodes had over 100 yards, Addai had 77.
Pierre the Great
grossman was channeling a high school quarterback tonight. About every pass he threw today, he threw it off his back foot. Hence the floaters. (thats what happens when you do that) Then on the short passes he looked like Chad Pennington lol which isn't good, either.
jetsniper
Man, it's one post after the other tonight with you. *ahem* Short passes are Pennington's forte because of his amazing accuracy. If anyone can play the short pass game, it's Chad. I had my doubts about him before this season but he proved he can take this team places. Comeback Player of the Year for a reason. Must not watch the Jets a lot. J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!
Pierre the Great
yeah it is Super Bowls haven't been the healthiest for me in a while. Even when the Rams won in '99 I still didn't feel happy. I blame it on the Patriots and their homeless looking coach and Tom Brady and then the media. I'll be okay though this goes away after a while. Chad Pennington can't throw deep. Too many shoulder surgeries.
jetsniper
He couldn't throw deep before the surgeries, everyone knows that. Thats why having a deep threat in Santana Moss was pointless so we traded him for a good possession receiver with an already known chemistry with the QB in Coles. Worked out just fine for the Jets. Pierre the Great
Brad Smith is the better QB. I watched him from his freshman year to senior year at Mizzou good guy as well.

jetsniper
Yes, their march to the Super Bowl was impressive. 4-12 one season to a playoff berth the next. Coles was 12th in the league in receiving yards and 6th in the league in yards. So yeah, I'd say it worked out. Brad Smith is the better QB. I watched him from his freshman year to senior year at Mizzou good guy as well. He won't be a QB in the NFL, he's a good receiver/special teams guy. Usually comes in for trick plays but thats it. Our QB of the future is Kellen Clemons, you should never expect Smith to be a regular QB. Great utility player though.
Pierre the Great
whatever jets I'm just saying Smith can throw a 30+ yard pass. He did more in terms of running and throwing then Michael Vick ever did and yet Vick plays Brad doesn't.
jetsniper
I know that, I'm not saying he can't throw the ball but we have higher options at QB then Smith. Mangini does like him as a QB but I doubt we'll ever see him play there much. He has the speed and hands to be a good WR and is also another option for our revolving door of HB's. Pierre the Great
okay whatever you think, I guess he'll just have more preseason comebacks when they put him like this year.
