If those are the two players the Habs end up getting, I will be pleased. Shattenkirk is listed at 6'0", 185 lbs, and could become a #1 / 2 defenceman in the NHL, with good offensive upside. His style is very similar to Andrei Markov.

Eller is a Danish player, who was playing in the Swedish junior league. He's listed at 6'1" 195 lbs, and has a high skill set. I believe he could develop into a top 2 line centre [preferred] or winger in a few seasons.

I didn't know Shattenkirk's potential was that high. Main problem I see with him is he plays RD and that's where most of our good prospects are. The LD position could use some help.

After last years draft and White and Maxwell being picked, I say TRUST!

Licking my Habs chops for FRIDAY! Can't wait. Brandy and cigars required.

We'll like it

In Timmins I trust. This is an organization day and Gainey would be the first to tell you he listens to all advisors and scouts on the team.

With two picks it is exciting.

For those who haven't read it yet, here's HW Mock Draft:

here's a table with mock drafts from HW, HF, Redline, TSN and ISS

my favorite mock draft is the HW one. Couture and Perron the best combination without any trade to chose top 5...

TSN has us taking Esposito and Hamill (MacGuire made both our picks). That wouldn't be bad -we would no longer have any problem with offensive centers. TSN also has Turris going 1st and Petrecki going 21st though.

Mcdonagh, Petrecki and Maclean. I read alot of people like Mcdonagh. He is a solid 2 way D man with some pretty good offensive upside. All have good size.

I think they will go one D man and 1 forwrd in the first round.
