Spider-Man NL
http://www.habsinsideout.com/2007/09/koivu...d_markov_to_si/ Koivu, Kovalev and Markov to sit out final preseason game By Pat Hickey Canadiens coach Guy Carbonneau announced today that Saku Koivu, Alex Kovalev and Andrei Markov won't play in the team's final exhibition game Saturday in Ottawa against the Senators. “Those guys have been playing well and we know what they can do,” Carbonneau explained. “This will give us a chance to look at some other guys.” Either Patrice Brisebois or Josh Gorges will take Markov's spot, while Kyle Chipchura and Garth Murray are expected to fill in for Koivu and Kovalev. Carbonneau also announced that Cristobal Huet will get the start in goal and will play at least 40 minutes, if not the entire game. The Canadiens open the regular season Wednesday night in Carolina. simonus
if anybody is going to the game, Brisebois really should get a standing O when he comes out. There is no use in making this guy feel like crap.
The Saint
Here here simonus! Patrice is a very courageous man showing the kind of heart and soul Canadien he really is, and has always been even through the BS years the "so- called" fans doled out on him, all because of an appropriate contract. Never mind the fact that he was on "his wrong side" for a large chunk of one of his worst statisitcal years. Shame on any of you who wish ill upon him or attempt to get others to wish ill upon him. tokyohabs
Go Habs! I'm cheering for Brisebois to have a careere year. I never cheered against him because of a contract: he gave us planty of other reasons. Slate clean, go Habs! Very excited for the season to start. On another side, I'd love to see Kovalev coach the team. Do you think he'd bench half the team, or head up to the executive lounge for the third period? BTH
Odd that Grabovski and Pleks have switched lines... Grabovski's been practicing with Latendresse and Smolinski fo a little while now, I think. It's definitely not the first time I'm seeing this line. The lines look good now, with 4 young centers. Good for a preseason game, I mean. Obviously, we'd get wrecked in the regular season.

Not too hard to be louder than the home crowd in Ottawa though
Easy Ryder
The more game you play the less convinced the coach is on what you can bring to the club. Bouillon and Dandenault are on a thin wire. With Markov and O'byrne in they are both out. As for the Chipchura showcase on the first line wjile grinders fight for 4 th line job ?? does this mean that is 4th line center job is confirmed??. I think the only fights left are Halak/Price and Grabovski/Murray/Lapierre. I see Lapierre making the team, Murray being our spare forward and Grabovski being sent down because there's nowhere left he really fits in. Punkned
As for the Chipchura showcase on the first line wjile grinders fight for 4 th line job ?? does this mean that is 4th line center job is confirmed??. My guess is that GC wants to see if Chips can put up points. Because if he stays, he'll probably play on the 3rd. GC was clear that he wants the first three lines to contribute offensively. If Chips scores tonight and plays a solid game, Grabs is out and Chips is in. But I think Kovy has shown that he wants to play (and score!!) with Kosts and Grabs. Just to see Kovy happy, motivated and actually scoring goals, I'd keep Grabs. And as a fan, Grabs is more fun to watch that Chips...
