The Chicoutimi Cucumber
I notice that Kovalev has 73 points in 71 GP...Ribs has 75 in 69 GP. Kovalev is closing in! I gather that Ribeiro has lost some ice time to Richards, which favours Kovalev. On the other hand, Ribs seems to have two games in hand. Let the Ribeiro-Kovy watch begin! (OK, so it's a silly thread, but on the other hand, these are two memorable and controversial characters, so I'm hoping for some fun discussion). Psycing
Kovy will tear by him as soon as Plek fully recovers from whatever flu he had.
Habsfan
Yeah, I think Kovy will surpass Ribeiro. Ribeiro has slowed down over the past 10 games, whereas Kovy is heating up (12 points in last 10 games) Edited March 12, 2008 by Habsfan
JMMR
As the games get closer to playoff time Ribeiro starts to hide more and more. I can not wait until the Stars are out in the first round and he as 2 assists and is a -4.
The Chicoutimi Cucumber
Kovy has now tied Ribs with 77 points! Those Bruins are the gift that keeps on giving.

I really would love to see him 10 points higher than Ribs. Although I know Kovy wll outscore him in the playoffs BIG TIME>
SAKS-AVENUE
No matter what the situation is,was, or is going to be I don't put these two players in the same category. Kovalev will only get stronger in the play-offs and Ribs will crawl into a hole. Knock on wood that this new Kovalev will continue to dominate for the red, white and blue for years to come, but considering what we saw last year from Kovy I'm always a little freaked out by the possible disappearing act that he is capable of. Besides who is Ribeiro? Yes No Tie Who Cares
Habsfan84
I really dont are if he passes Ribiero as longas Kovalev still plays good for us.
mineral
Add another 2 points for Kovy to make it 79 with a pair of helpers against the Sens tonight.

BTH
Definitely. The only time it will matter is if it's the SC finals. We know it doesn't mean anything in the standings, but it would just be a bit depressing if Ribeiro winds up with more points than anyone on the Habs (isn't happening though).
