gohabsgo252006
Saku and Begin, together they are the heart and soul of this team. Both of them will do whatever it takes to win. Anything the coaches ask, they do, Koivu doesn't get enough credit for his scrappy play while Begin doesn't get the credit for chipping in offensively. Both guys do what they do best, and do what the other guy does pretty well. Gotta love them both, I hope they will both be here for a very long time. Honourable mention goes to Kovalev, he sure has been impressive. and the FUTURE; Higgins, Zhogs, Plekanek, Komisarek and lastly Theo (if he keeps playing well)

Koivu is a good example and doesn't need explaining. Bégin too goes without saying. Bulis tries hard and is determined. Sundstrom and Higgins are hard-workers and smart players. Kovalev is eager to improve his game. Markov is a nice and quiet guy who doesn't play selfishly. Rivet's got leadership. We have very few guys with bad attittudes on our team. Souray and Theodore can be argued to have bad attitudes due to problems off the rink. Overall we just keep on dropping the guys with bad work ethic and getting the determined guys. That's why we've got chemistry. Compare the old Rangers to the new Rangers. All they did was LOSE great players and they've become a better team. They lost Bure and Lindros who both have big egos and other stars too but still improved because now they have heart.

Komisarek the Cruncher
You want heart and determination, it starts with the coaching. Rick Green got a fractured cheek bone tonight from a shot into the bench and he stayed behind the bench the whole game. :/):/)
Dutch_Habs_Fan
That's gotta be Koivu, the man that made me a fan of the Habs. Higgins and Komisarek are also guys i really like, but nothing compared to Koivu. I respect him very much!

I want 20 goals from him but he just misses too many shots. Kovalev should help him out on his shot. I really like Bulis but I've always been fascinated by the fact that he just hasn't been able to do that last little step and put the puck in behind the goalie. He does most everything else extremely well but when it comes to actually beating the goalie... it's as if the goalies always have a read on what he's going to do. Maybe also it's that he just doesn't have a precision aspect to his shot and he shoots unthinkingly at the net and, as a result at the center of the net which is where the goalie always is. :eyes::eyes::eyes:

Thats been the knock on him his whole career. He's a half decent playmaker and a defensive specialist. He'll never score more than 15 goals a year. Ribeiro
see 2004 Olympics Basketball -i.e. Puerto Rico v. US You mean the Silver medal winning team that was made of a bunch of mismatched NBA players and rookies who just flew to Athens with about 2 weeks of preparation, against teams that had been preparing to play them for years? What did Puerto Rico win again? But that's another topic for another day. I really don't feel like debating basketball with a bunch of hockey fans that just happened to watch the basketball highlights on Sportscenter. If talent mattered more than work ethic, then let's just trade away all our stars, and have a bunch of hard-working scrubs. Hey, your logic - screw talent, let's just work hard! Colin
Heh. 19 Begin's and a goalie would beat 19 Ribeiro's and a goalie every single night. Unless Ribs worked his ass off...

Hey, your logic - screw talent, let's just work hard! [Edited on 2005/11/1 by Ribeiro] I don't see where anybody said 'screw talent'. Nobody can dispute the importance of talent in the NHL. The point is, that talent alone isn't enough. A guy who works hard with less talent than an average player can have a decent impact. A guys with talent who doesn't work very hard is... (pick one) Ron Hainsey, Marcel Hossa, the '03-'04 NYR,... (you get the point)

Lister110
Begin is red hot now but he was my favorite player after he played with no face in the Boston series. His heart could be seen through his jersey. Koivu is up there, Zednik New favs include Komi, Kovalev There are too many to chose from though. I can honestly say there isn't a player I don't like right now
