Modern day 3 on 3 is all about possession. I can tell you when I went to see Canada vs Sweden, fans were hoping for some face-off wins during overtime.
The Chicoutimi Cucumber
I wonder if we should try to re-sign Laine at a reasonable rate while his value is low? More likely, he would "bet on himself" to have a stronger season next year and cash in as a UFA, but who knows. Might be worth a shot. But picking 18yo players, especially post-COVID, is far from an exact science, and ending up with the second-best player from the draft would be disappointing but not a disaster. Really blowing the first overall draft pick? I think the photo on that Wikipedia page shows Nail Yakupov ... As long as Demidov hits whatever. Truth is Cooley would still be a mediocre 1OA pick. Shame we bombed out that year haha.
