Almost every close game is effected largely by the referees (Lakers vs Cavaliers is a recent example). Even Nader gave the NBA a letter once. Well, you sure did spend a lot of time putting that together, didn't you? Sir, I've both watched basketball and played the sport on a competitive level. I'd rather you not try to patronize me. Of course NBA referees have more of an outcome on a basketball game - it's a sport where most forms of contact are illegal. Yet, since bodies are flying around and making *contact*, the officials have more to do. Further, a official making a call can lead *directly* to points scored via free throws. I never said that they didn't have an outcome on the game, I just said that they are very good at what they do. You need to lose that hostility. In a hurry. Saku brings too much offensively to the team and I think Kosty will be someone who can add something like that while Downy brings llittle in that area. As I said before, I would rather lose this series than potentially lose Koivu to a career-ending injury. Hopefully however, he'll be back for next season and maybe even before then. Most likely they can't run any further tests till some of the swellling subsides. Either way its probably not good news. Its on par with the Berard, Yzerman (puck) injuries, and they wern't good. It would have been a four minute penalty and maybe Montreal scores to put the game away, but these things happen. It is hard to believe the ref missed the call since it was a play right in front of the net. Hopefully this crew doesn''t work any more playoff games. But one look at Koivu's face and they realize they missed something. What is arguing going to prove?
