I thought about trading Dvorak to them, but he would not fit in their cap. Also, they seem to have young Cs that can probably take the 3C With LAK retaining salary, PLD would fall under the cap hit of Suzuki and others For LAK, Anderson would provide the physicality PLD sometimes provides, in a contending team he would produce at 20g40p rate which is fine on a 3rd line. He would do well in the playoffs for them. I also doubt LAK makes this trade, but I can make the argument and feel it is possible and not too far fetched

Like, either the LAK retains salary, and we do something like: to MTL: PLD ($8.5M/8yrs), I would be fine with $2M retained over those two years to LAK: Anderson ($5.5M/3yr) Straight up, one for one with the salary retention. If LAK are not willing to do the salary retention, I would ask for one of their draft picks or prospects to take on salary. With Price on LTIR the habs can take this salary.

I have said before that I think is is a "dark horse" prospect like Struble was. Not talked about too much but developing very well.

PLD for sure, but only if the asking price is reasonable. He would be a great 3rd line center for the Habs and could fill-in for Suzuki or Dach any time they may be injured. Zegras is probably too costly for my liking

you are right, I was surprised by that one but the kid is really good. The names on @GHT120 's list had too many old names, and I woul dbe surprised Koivu JR is favoured by this management team.

I do not believe HughGort have any sentimentalism towards the history of the franchise or are any interest in dipping into nepotism. I think that ship is parked on the marketing department and away from hockey decision.

I am rooting for Roy, very unlikely he wins this series, but I am rooting for him. He is a passionate hockey "lifer" and has a very intense coaching style, while showing his deep knowledge-of and respect-for the game in interviews. I think he is an interesting coach to follow.

don't forget that MTL is cursed and that key players get hurt at the worst of times. Having extra depth on RD can only be positive

Guhle is more effective on LD. Once Savard is moved or retires (if he stays) Reinbacher, Mailloux, and Barron would be a solid RD. With Kovacevic as a ackup in case of injuries, if he is not traded by that time. Of course, it depends on how well they all develop

If you take their age difference as an indicator of the potential for the younger one to improve. Kovacevic (26) has had 4 more years than Barron (22) to develop. At 22, Kovacevic was in the AHL: 29Games 2g 12a 14pts Barron's combined AHL;NHL: 80Games 9g 15a 24pts So, IMHO, there is hope for Barron.

in my potato head eyes, he would be a good replacement for Kovacevic down the road.

I watched the end of the NYI game. I am cheering for St-Patrick. They were in defending mode early in the 3rd and static in their zone (per RDS commentators) ; so at that point I thought that they may screw up. But I was still hoping for a main for them.

I watched quite a few Laval Rocket games this season and I do not think Mailloux is ready. Despite the criticism, Barron does a better job in the NHL than Mailloux. Also, Hutson needs time to develop his potential. Let’s not rush him.
