It's in the article. But, as usual, it's a stylistic comparison, not a prediction that he will end up at the same level as Bourque or Anderson. The point is, though, even if Anderson were to score 20+ goals next season, it'll basically be a solo effort, he doesn't really complement his linemates. And, stylistically, that is not great.

Injuries. I don't get to make the pick but I really don't expect Hughes to pick Lindstrom.

The #CBJ make it official: Don Waddell has been hired as president of hockey operations, general manager and alternate governor. Good luck Columbus!

2024 NHL Entry Draft
Habs Fan in Edmonton replied to Habs Fan in Edmonton's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
I don't have access to the article so is Rene Bourque\Josh Anderson his comparison or yours? To put that comparison is perspective, Josh Anderson's best year in junior was 27 goals in 54 games when he was 19. Lindstrom scored 27 goals in 32 games as a 17 year old! Not even close. Rene Bourque never played major junior so maybe harder to compare but his best year in college was 19 goals in 40 goals, he did score 27 a couple times in the NHL. I just don't get that comparison, it's meaningless to me. -
Why, what was the first or other reason? He is a centre, x-large, can skate well, is physical and scored lots last year, so is lots to like. THW 2024 Mock NHL Draft Round 1: Our Writers Make Their Picks - The Hockey Writers - - NHL News, Analysis & More 5. Montreal Canadiens: Cayden Lindstrom, C, Medicine Hat Tigers (WHL) THW Writer: Trege Wilson The Canadiens’ management seems to like size and skill, and Lindstrom is the best player for both qualities. He had wrist surgery, which held him back this season, and he rehabbed a back injury that could raise questions, but for all intents and purposes, he seems healthy and ready to go. Paying him $10.5m and Price cant even pronounce 1 f'in name!

And that's another reason why I think Hughes will pass on Lindstrom.

As he noted, he dosent really expect Lindstrom to be a top line player, due to low hockey-IQ. More likely a Rene Bourque/Josh Anderson-type and not a Lindros/Getzlaf-type, is his big concern i guess. Sennecke over Demidov seems wrong also, but what do i know.

Not just size--Catton is sixth and Lindstrom is well down the list.

I think it's just another indication of how unpredictable this draft will be after Celebrini. -
Bob McKenzie had him 6th (mid-season), i guess after the combine will see if moves up in Mackenzie's scout poll ranking. But, I get the impression Pronman tends to like size moreso than his co-writer Wheeler.

Demidov at 8? That's by far the lowest I have seen him ranked. -

I don’t know about organizational depth…but in terms of the NHL level, as this article says, we’re in solid shape, although it is an interesting question who will be #3 in the event that one of Monty or Primeau goes down for any length of time. Dobes certainly doesn’t sound like a serious candidate. Hey, last time we had the #5 pick we chose a goalie…maybe just maybe - ?!? 🤪🤪🤪 -
Pronman new ranking NHL Draft 2024 rankings: Macklin Celebrini leads Corey Pronman’s top 129 prospects - The Athletic (nytimes.com) 1- Celebrini 4- d-men 6- Catton 7- Sennecka 8- Demidov I still like the offense that this kid may have, but biggest obvious hope is that Hawks/Ducks/CBJ all pick d-men.

Skinner needs to be better and he has to step up and save some of those goals. Yes he made plenty of great saves but he needs to step up and save more -
Beck vs London today 7:30 A+ eh? Grading Vinzenz Rohrer’s 2023-24 season (habseyesontheprize.com) "In a mid-season conversation with Zürich coach Marc Crawford, he said that Rohrer is “easy co coach, eager to learn, and he forced his way into the team by being too good to be sent to another team.” While not playing on either top line, Rohrer sometimes got the chance to play on the power play, and points trickled in with a slow but steady pace." (He compares him to Gallagher, but Gallagher piled up the goals in the WHL at similar age, in weaker league and bigger role; but other than gritty play for smaller forward i dont see it, maybe more like Harvey-Pinard?)

"Needs Assessment: High – The Habs made a mistake last year by not giving Dobes a quality backup to start with. Yes, they thought at one point that one of Primeau or Casey DeSmith might back it there but they waited way too long to pivot."... Assessing The Depth: Goaltenders – HabsWorld.net I guess are thin in net, if one of the Hab goalies goes down. And likely they will pick another goalie or two in draft, not that helps for near future but seems smart.

He and Messier have a dog and pony show going on, which is pretty entertaining - e.g., when Messier chased him around the studio with the Cup - and probably good for the sport in the USA. But in general, I get the impression of one of those media personalities who feels he has to come up with an "instant hot take" on everything and is more interested in getting the clicks than whether or not his opinion is fully thought out. Guys like Tony Marinaro or Dave Pratt did the same thing, and soon degenerated into being useless blowhards - Cherry minus the nativism. -

I actually thought tonight's game was NHL hockey at it's finest. Two highly skilled teams playing hard, fast and disciplined, just a few minor penalties, no dirty hits. They both had their turn dominating the game. Fun to watch. -

Great game. Not a great goal by Skinner to give up but he was decent the rest of the game. A very fast game. -

Skinner has made some great saves and non of those goals were his fault. Still I feel like he needs to have one of them.
