I was hearing on CHML yesterday that somehow Victor Copps name will still be enshrined in some part of the arena name. The box office was renamed the First Ontario Credit Union box office early in the fall so we could see the writing on the wall. It gets to the point of overkill-power plays and penalty kills announced as sponsored by Pepsi; the Pizza Pizza press box in the Bill Stirrup gondola. Last year a local plumber had targets in the urinals! Somehow the abbreviation of the sponsor isn't going to work, as in " I'm going to the FOC U arena". Right now, think about how many of us still call the Rogers Centre "the Skydome".

One good thing you can say about Parros: Briere didn't get any of the business given to him after that whistle with big George standing there.

PK will always have a mistake or two on back end, but not enough that he shouldn't play 1/2 the game and be a stud player that he is on most nights. Not bad, Briere has a goal with less than 4 minutes of ice.

That goal put a smile on Bergevin's face!

Trading Markov has nothing to do with contract or term. It is only a hockey decision. He is not good enough any more, but can provide prospects, and maybe roster players of value. I really am a big fan of Markov and have always spoken against trading him for the last 3-4 years. BUT I now believe we need to move forward and he is one big chip we can move to improve this team over the next 2-3 years when we win the cup. He will be retired or totally useless when we have the parade.

Why? Thomas is natural goal scorer and they say best release and hardest shot on Hamilton. Maybe a young Gionta-type? I would take that option on struggling PP, over Parros playing 4 shifts? Wouldn't you? (gotta love an ex-Leaf goalie stoning San Jose for Oilers and he said he had his worst warm-up in long time and couldn't envision a game like that playing out)

Id trade our whole forwardlineup for one of the top two lines of Boston.
