  1. I've been thinking that for a while now. Between, Carle, Belle and their composure early on, to Darche, Trotter, Dejairnais. and White, we have a bunch of no names, who come up ready. Man that fourth line was impressive.
  2. say that Jaro hasn't been key to the Habs lilmited success this year would be radical. To say that Price is mediocre and will remain mediocre is also radical.
  3. Get off the podium already. Everyone knows Halak is a great goalie. Can we sign both under the cap? That is the question. If we can't, do you trade Price based on this season alone? I don't know. But your constant Halak vs Price stuff is old man. I would not want to be the one to make the decision. But you come on here ranting about how Price will never be good. You are wrong about that. Price has some maturing to do, and he needs to learn to shake off the media and expectations and just play hte way he can. Should Halak be traded? I hope not. Should Price be traded? Absolutely not! He has at least 2 years of developement before I decide that. Halak was awesome last night. He made the saves and that's what matters. He wins the key games and has removed all question as to wether he can handle top teams. You do have to admit that his shots against are partly his own fault. His 44 shots against had about 10 rebound shots. To question his rebound control is legitimate. To commend his abilities and hard work is expected. He plays hard every game, and has been great. I like him. I like Price too. I just happen to still think that Price can be a franchise player and would be very disapointed if he was traded. Unless it was for a franchise player.
  4. Moreau would be great as a checker, but we don't want Gagner or Cogliano. I'm telling you we would get owned. Two guys with size out of the top 6.
  5. dude that makes my blood boil. I was born and raised in BC and I HATE the Canucks. I love it when when they lose. Seeing that makes me angry. hahaha
  6. I live in northern alberta and cheer for the oilers. I can tell you that Hemsky is amazing. His puckhandling skills are par with Kovalev. His biggest issue is that he doesn't shoot. As far as Moreau, he is a great role player. He plays hard every game. But a 2nd liner, he is not. More like 4th line. Cogliano is still developing, but I'm not tooo impressed with him. Just another little soft guy getting pushed off the puck.
  7. there were a few blatant non calls that period. nice work by laps to wear down the d.
  8. I would say the credit should go to Sutter. The days of high end 7 and 8 mill contracts are coming to an end IMO. He now has room to pursue Kovalchuk.
  9. I thought Weber played reasonably well. Gorges was very good.
  10. Habs in eighth. I think this might be the last day we see Les Boys in a playoff spot. Unless Cammie's injury is less serious than it looked. Put down the pipe! Deal Cammie? Deal Markov? Even Gionta!
  11. If the defense was faster, the penguin system would probably work a little better. I do have to admit that I preffered Carbo's riskier game than this crap.
  12. Yep. I'm sick of the momentum created by Gill and Spacek getting beat to the puck too. The 3rd and 4th line do nothing, and there is no depth to cover injuries.
  13. Guys, it seriously doesn't matter. The team is done! I don't like to be negative, but I don't think the Habs can do a thing without Cammie.
  14. Well, call that a season. Bob start selling. No way out with cammy down.
  15. That's terrible. I thought he was the best of the call-ups on defense this year. He is a bit of a band-aid.
  16. This team could be in 13th in the East/ 5th worst team in the league by Saturday. If they can't get it figured out before the olympic break, I say sell, sell, sell.
  17. This! There are some big problems in this team, but really our top 6 are pretty good. These are some of the problems I have seen this year: DEFENSE! Our defensemen are slow and pathetic. In a posession system, it is critical that your defense are fast enough to get to the puck and hang onto it. Bottom 6. They do nothing. They don't wear down the opponent, none of them are skilled enough to step up when a top 6 guy is injured. They don't create any momentum. They basically kill time. I miss TK and Begin. JM system with a team that can't or won't impliment. The system is fundementaly good. Short fast passes, speed, puck support and backchecking. Short shifts and low risk. The problem is that the passes aren't working. 5 players in top 20 in the league for giveaways last time I checked. But of all this, I still say defense is the biggest issue. We are just too slow. I didn't watch this game, but I'm willing to bet that the points were covered hard by Tampa, forcing turnovers. There were lots of stretch passes, and Tampa sent 3 forwards in hard to forecheck. Why not...unless Markov or Hammer are on the ice, you know you will maintain posession of the puck. It's the same game plan every game.
  18. Ya, I think it's good to have a veteran call out a young player that doesn't appear to be playing with heart. It shouldn't divide a room. The young person should really look within and ask himself how true the statement is. I don't expect much to come of this.
  19. Thank you. You even have the same name as me. I have been trying to say this for 2 months. I say it constantly and nobody acknowledges it. This is why the Habs suck. Not BGL or Halak or Price or Patches or Diago, or any individual. This is why the team is sub par.
  20. I think Price has more of a future in the NHL. I don't dislike either. I know this is your favourite subject, and frankly I don't know why I bother to answer you. I guess i'm bored. The idea of not liking Price at this stage in his career is just as arbritrary as saying either of them has a chance of being anything but .500 goaltenders. There are way bigger issues on the team than goaltending. I would not trade either in a non-cap world, but because we have the number 1 AHL goaltender in Dejardains, maybe trading Halak at the end of the year would be an option. Right now Halak is the better goalie. I feel much better watching him in net. I have more confidence. Right now. Please save this post and in 2012, we can look at it again. If Price is in the minors, because he is a useless bum, I will congratulate you for ranting nonstop about the subject. If he is good, (which I think he will be), you can .......Well, you know!
