  1. Ya, I'm listening online! Philly and Rags would have clinched with a Philly OTL!
  2. I have a friend with season tix in the whites, but he lives here in Alberta. I wonder if his son will sell them all. I would fly to Montreal, for the 07/08 team, but I don't know this year.
  3. Halak to get every start for the rest of the season and playoffs, unless he totally blows it. Man I hope he can stay hot. Nothing beats a Psycho goaltender in the playoffs.
  4. It will be one or the other. Either Plex will be signed and a goalie moved, or Plex will go bye bye and both goalies will stay. I don't see anyone bighting on Hammer or Spacek, as much as I think that one needs to go. Kosty's won't be traded.
  5. I was joking a little, but no honestly, I like Moore a lot, and much as I like Metro, (Unsung hero award for sure.) the team needs some sandpaper. White plays a gritty game, and I like him a lot.
  6. We have a whole farm team full of fourth liners. LOL. I like Metro, but I would rather see White get a full time job. His grit is needed. There is no truculance on this team. lol
  7. Whoops, ya I forgot about the lockout. Hahaha, my whole theory blown. LOL
  8. Price was solid. Our slow right side on defense is so easy to exploit. Has anyone noticed that (sorry Kozed, I know you hate him, but you are wrong) the only time we can control the puck on the right side is when Gorges is out there. I can't wait to see this team with some faster defensemen.
  9. Ward sucked the spirit out of this team! Not a playoff performance. I think they want a Washington matchup.
  10. It isn't specifically Bob, but if you can't admit that the Habs are a better organanization as a whole, than 10 years ago, then you are a fool. The expectation is there to make the playoffs again, and we do it with regularity. Yes, the cups aren't rolling in like before, but we have a competitive team. Don't forget that Price was signed as the 5th overall in 2005. That's 5 years ago that we were the 5th worst team in the NHL! That isn't all that long ago. Considering that the team didn't do like many others and tank 3 years in a row to build prospects, I would say we've done not bad. Not great, but not bad. Bob will go down as the guy that helped dig this team out of the mire. Even though much of the credit should go to Andre Savard. The team was on it's way out, but aparently not completely. Price...5th pick...Habs 5th worst team... Gainey may have made some moves that in hindsight seemed shortsighted, but to the majority, the choices were based on sound reasoning. Ribiero was a problem in the dressing room. He was given away and that was a mistake. At the time many people supported the decision. I was one of them. He was a cancer in my eyes. In hindsight, maybe a baysitter would have been a better option. Souray was a question mark at the time, but making the playoffs is a business decision. The revenue generated is huge. We didn't make it that year, but we were one point away. It was a reasonable risk. The team would not have been close without him. We had the leagues best PP that year and his cannon helped that. Streit was a different story. He was a seen as a utility guy who was rumoured to only want 3 million mid season. He was seen by the team as a PP specialist and #5 defenseman. This was certainly a mistake. Many people were mad because of Ryder last year. Where are they now? I would say his biggest flaw was not signing mid season. He didn't grow with the industry. People get upset that player developement was poor, but in 07/08 the team was at the top of the Eastern conference at the end of the year and mostly with young guns. It wasn't until the next year that he saw the problem and eliminated all leadership. And now we are headed to the playoffs again probably. It is disapointing to be mediocre, but I like it more than being horrible like we were for ten year. Bob kept the organization heading in the right direction.
  11. Man, that was a stinky draft pick. We don't even want him in the AHL?
  12. I think Spacek would be a different player on the left side. That's been a problem all year. The team only has 3 top 4 defensemen and they are all left handed. Hammer or Spacek might have to go bye bye this year at the end of the season.
  13. He will be signed fast if Gauthier doesn't sign him. Especially for 1 mill
  14. Ya, I don't get moving Benny down. WTF.
  15. I looked at our drafts from like 1971 one day. You would be surprised how few stars total we drafted in the first round.
  16. Ya, Giordano made trading Phaneuf possible. He has been unbelievable this year. Whether it was smart to trade Phaneuf or not is another story, but tying up massive money on the back end has to have an affect on your forwards eventually. I'm really disapointed that the Flames may not make it this year. Iggy is my favourite hockey player. I liked White in Toronto and I like him in Calgary.
  17. I thought when he traded Phaneuf that sutter was taking a run at Kovalchuk. I don't know if I'm as bitter about losing Phaneuf. Regher is an awesome stay at home D and Jbo is great too. Dealing Phaneuf's contract means the Flames will have freedom to pick up a #1 Centre from free agency. I do think he paniced a little and should have demanded a 1st and 2nd from whoever traded for him. Hahaha, i read your post about contacts to Bourque and Stajan after I posted. LOL. Ya fire the idiot!
  18. What ever happened to should have instead of should of?
  19. I would say you are partly right. I think it's a combination of things. The third and fourth lines were a problem from the beginning of the season. They look much better now. Gainey made the hard decision of dumping Laraque and calling up Darche, Gautier traded for Moore and fell in love with Pyatt. Instant 3rd and 4th line face lift. The achilles heal of this team is now it's slow defense. I think Mara being hurt may be a good thing. He is pretty slow too. The team is back checking better and supporting each other in all zones.
  20. gotta hang on to that 6th spot. This is gonna get interesting down the stretch. I'm not happy with the streak of 3 losses, but they were in all of them till the end. I'm not giving up.
  21. Dude, seriously? You are still arguing? Like a top 6 of Gilmour, Loob, Macdonald, Fleury, Hrdina and Nieuwendyk? Our top 6 averages the same or bigger. I still say the only truly big team to win the cup in forever years were teh Ducks. Big guys are great to have, and have a huge advantage in breaking the defense. They can take hits and give them. Is a massive top six absolutely neccessary? No.
