100% they're looking at Hutsons next contract. It expires in a year and half. There will probably be a general plan over the long term, but very general. Locking up players you want is part of team building. But worrying about re signing players you locked up last year and expire in 6 years? Not a chance. Anyway as you say. Disagree.

Yes. There's an eye to the future. Of course. But something as dynamic as sports is, there's no chance they're thinking about re signing players contracts 5 years from now. That decision is based on evaluations as the contracts play out.

29 30 is a long ways away. Dealing with what's right in front of you with an eye to the future is sensible, but 5 years from now? Who the heck knows what that looks like? The idea right now is to start learning how to win. The idea this deadline is to assess current assets and expiring contracts that you don't want to keep and see about trading them. But what the team does in 5 years is going to be thought about in 4 years. Not now.

The missed call on the armia trip was brutal. Armia blatantly tripped in a puck battle along the wall. Puck goes to point. Two quick passes to kakko and in the net. Armia was still trying to get back in the play after being tripped. That trip won them the game.
