  1. You guys need to calm down about blaming everything on Price. I agree he wasn't great, but the Habs were pretty much dominated all night. Especially the dzone, which was terrible at best. Komi and Markov were brutal, players taking out there own goalie. Price will be back in Thirsday, Halak Staurday. I expect a much better effort Thursday i beleive against the Coyotes. Plus, they traveled a long way, 3rd game in 4 nights, reading there press clippings about how good they are, they were due for a let down. The good Points: Pleks line again They came back a bit Bad news: Physically outmatched with speed and size defense zone coverage was really bad. As PM would say, they did a tap dance on the habs head last night. 42 shots against, not good. Know one stood up for there 20 year old goalie who was run all night. To be contenders this team needs to get bigger and tougher, you cannot let your goalie get run all night, that was embarassing. We'll see what there made of Thursday.
  2. Those kind of comments are just funny. If you don't like GC that's fine. However ever since he took over the habs have played better then they arguably 10-15 years. If you don't like the way he treats players too bad. See Alex Kovalev and others, are they playing better? You bet. If you don't like his defensive system, too bad. It doesn't stiffle the offense. 3rd in scoring. Get over all ready, i said the moment they hired him times were changing and it was up to the players to put up or shut up. Thosse who didn't respond are gone. There are still 4 or 5 under contract who are next to leave.
  3. Only 2 games with Boston. Montreal needs to atleast split the division games. 500 should get them in.
  4. The only good news is all those Atlantic teams play eachother like 2-3 times each. Which will prevent 2 of them from running the tables. The islanders play well within that division as well.
  5. The Habs have to help themselves. Waitning around for others to lose is what gets this team into trouble. Do they want first place in the division, or will they come out flat.
  6. Sk probably leads the team in fighting majors since his arrival. That is diturbing enough. His only weakness i can see is he doesn't shoot enough, he seems to have a great shot. I didn't know what to expect, i never saw him play before he arrived. I aam very impressed with his all around game and grit. It sounds weird but i would switch him and his brother's lines. Put Ak with Higgins and Koivu, that line needs a finisher. Sk with Pleks and Kovy would be just as deadly.
  7. Umm, so has his 2 line mates and the entire teams offensive production. They have played really poor defensively the last 10 games as well. There are more people on the team i'd be worried about. Pleks comes to play most nights, i'm not worried about him.
  8. Burke actually promised him that he would waive him if he couldn't get a deal done by the date he was waived. Burke gave him his word on that.
  9. Last years team stunk. They are significantly better this year. If you can't see them as a better team, there is nothing i can do. They have the playoffs like 3 or 4 times in the last 10. Those teams were equally as bad.
  10. No, BG won't be fired if they don't make it. This is the best this team has looked in numerous years. However you won't see any UFA's resigned. Streit is totally expendable, he hits the net 1 out of 15 shots, he's not good enough for the top 6 D, he is wasting a spot for a fighter, Pker or grinder. Yep i said it, the habs need to be tougher and grittier to move to the next step. SK can man the point for him next year. I fully expect Emilin to be signed and split time with Bouillon until he is ready.
  11. Yea but Pittsburgh has to resign all those guys, Whitney and a goalie as well. I doubt they have cash to have them all together after this year. (See Tampa)
  12. Some of you guys need to calm down or get a grip. BG lying? He did try to land a top player, both in the offseason and trade deadline. It takes 2 to tango. Pitsburgh got hosed on that deal if Hossa doesn't resign. The habs have like the 3rd youngest team in the league, in a good playoff spot and people still bitch and complain. I am one who still thinks have they a chance to choke or make it in, that's no secret. I also really like the youth and the way BG and GC are handling the team. The youth is what's driving the team, plus Kovalev this year. Hamrlik a huge UFA that know one seems to mention as a good move by BG. That was the best move he's made since he's been a Habs, Kovalev included. The team can do damage in the playoffs or they may not even make, they are a bit bi-polar, if the work ethic stays the same like in the third last night they will be fine. The market only said Huet was worth a second, i'm fine with that. Why everyone thinks he's worth more is beyound me.
  13. Huet isn't as good as everyone around here thinks. Simple as that. In a 10 game stretch he can be as hot as anyone, then he is just like everyone else.
  14. I think they could still move Ryder out west. I think they need a big tough centre. We'll know soon enough about Hossa. Bg exhausts all avenues, he won't make a dumb move. I think the Huet deal is fine.
  15. Sports net reported Pittsburgh the front runner for Hossa now. Staal plus other players
  16. Maybe Halak is part of the deal the other way(If true) Lehtonin hasn't been that impressive
  17. Tanguay was hurt in the last game. Not surprising
  18. Huet isn't ready either. Accept that Price did carry the World Junior team to gold, and a middle of the road AHL team to the cup.
  19. Huet isn't ready either. Accept that Price did carry the World Junior team to gold, and a middle of the road AHL team to the cup.
  20. That's a great pick up Buffalo. I wouldn't call it a steal. Power forwards are hard to find. As you will see Friday when he throws alot of hits against the Habs D. The Devils got rid of muscle, not added it, Salvador isn't tough at all. McCarty was tough. The Habs need to add some size, 3 smurfs at centre isn't going to cut it.
  21. If i'm not mistaken, the rosters are open to have more then the 22 man roster once the trade line passes
  22. You can wear your jersey all you want, just no Recchi. The last thing the Habs need is a washed up, soft small forward.
  23. A set of balls and some courage would help out the forwards, defense.
  24. BG is fine. He will not give up a top talent for a rental. He would and will if the other side accepts a good hockey deal. Normally it's for both clubs. Beleive me, he is trying, if there is a deal to be had, he'll do it. If not, without resigning any UFA's, he will have alot of money to get the man he wants.
