  1. No. We sign Breire and trade for Thomas. Gallegher, Gionta, Briere, desharnais, Thomas. That's a pretty imposing forward group if Thomas makes it.
  2. So Kristo gets what 8 games of AHL experience and that is considered getting a shot and Leblanc gets a pass for three years of proving squat in the AHL???
  3. Seriously????? The guy joins a team at the end of the college year and end of the AHL year and you call that a chance?????
  4. Character issues??the kid is what 22, 23?? If there is a 27 or 28 year old who still has character issues, you worry. You don't ship out a a guy in his early 20's before he gets a shot at the pros. This is almost as dumb as the bruins moving Seguin.
  5. We signed him before the playoffs. I hate the deal. How many 5'9" and smaller players do we need??? Kristo had a great shot and decent speed. I can't believe he wasn't at least given a half year in Hanilton before giving up on him.
  6. agreed. I thought the habs should have locked him for 9 to 11 years pre-lockout. It should have been a no brainer to lock him up for 8 years after the lockout. Getting 5 years of his UFA years at a $2m to $3m annual discount would have been worth it. Now we are also going to pay $7M+ for his last two RFA years.
  7. Larry Robinson after breaking his leg was a shadow of himself for a couple of years. However in 86' he was huge in the cup win and was also solid in 89'. When Savard let him go for nothing, ,In his first year with the Kings he was in consideration for the Norris. I think that was his 18th or 19th year in the league.
  8. Picking up Laich would actually be the first good move for Feaster. The flames aren't going to be anywhere near the playoffs, but Laich would be a good guy to have around kids during the year and then can be moved at the trade deadline next year for some picks.
  9. He will easily get $5m+ I'd offer him $5.5m for 1 year, $10m/ 2 years or $13m/3 years I imagine someone will give him $5.5m/yr for 5 years
  10. I'd take vinny over all of them. Horton would be great, but he will want $6m+ and is injury prone
  11. yep. NHL just closed that loop hole. Can't do a trade, buyout and resign. There was a rumour that TB would trade him to the Leafs, have the leafs buy him out and then resign him, but the NHL closed that loop hole that was in the new CBA.
  12. which is why i get pissed out at the RDS/Bergeron/Trembley crowd that continue to hammer the habs for not going after french canadian players, when its the players who don't want to play in montreal. I see vinny going to the Leafs, rangers, panthers, wings or canucks. I don't think he has any interest in playing in Montreal.
  13. He will go to the Leafs by his own choice and the habs will be vilified by RDS and Le Journal De Montreal for Vinny's choice.
  14. That's about the only scenario that i'd be willing to move Markov. I think its a pipe dream, but if the Canes were willing i'd make that move in a second.
  15. There is a big difference at the price you pay at the deadline and prior to the start of the year. I'd much rather have us make the moves before the season then pay stupid prices later on.
  16. My comment is not based in using stats as a comparable. Dryden was a winner. Bunny was a serviceable backup on a good team, who was considered a good goalie, but hasn't shown he could be a Stanley cup winning goalie. The peanut gallery have always been idiots. Roy was a conn smythe winner, who proved he could win. Suggesting Racicot start ahead if him was lunacy. However, at the NHL level Price hasn't even put an entire season and playoff together, like Theodore did. So using roy is a bad example. i see Price being ahead of Right now price clearly being ahead of a grat gialie orispect in the 90'a, Trevor Kidd was in what he's accomplished. but even so Kidd is a better compareable. He also was a big goalie who was considered technically perfect. kidd didnt have the start Pruce did and ended up being a backup, but he was drafted before Brodeur and was considered the best goaltending prospect at the time. he had a few oppertunities as a starter and ended ip as a backup. price has had brilliant stretches, but has not shown he can consistently dominate at the NHL level, or win when it matters, the way a Dryden, Roy, Ward and Quick have shown they can. IMO, I think Price could easily be that goalie in another city, but he has yet to show he can win in Montreal, and get out of the shadow of the great goalies Montreal has had.
  17. Comparing price to Roy is like comparing wamsley to Dryden in 1982.
  18. I've got no interest in Tanguay. The only two flames I'd have any interest are Glencross or Baershi
  19. I doubt if he will be bought out this year, but they would be stupid not to buy him out next year.
  20. If they don't this summer, they probably will next summer
  21. Philly has always found a way too pay. Byzghalov and Briere will be bought out. That's around $13m to start with.
  22. I've no interested in Briere , even at an affordable rate. Only way i'd be interested in him would be on a VERY short-term bargain basement rate. Otherwise, he didn't want to be here when he had something to offer and when we outbid everyone else, so as far as I'm concerned, the hell with him now. no way i'd want Heatley. We need character guys not slow, one dimensional scorers whose best before date has passed. This guy has worn out his welcome everywhere he has been. Not the kind of guy you want around a young team. the punk isn't going to take a home town discount when he turned down the home town premium early in his career.
  23. Prust got $2.5m or more from the habs. Bickell will easily get more than that.
  24. Agreed. Especially long term. Best case, he turns into John Leclair. Worst case John Druce. In a cap world, you can't risk giving term and high dollar value. Now, I would risk giving him around $3.5M longer term (at that rate, I think the hawks will resign him), but I think someone out there will cough up $5M+.
  25. I didn't get the hurry to sign Boullion. He is a 7th dman that is played a lot more then he should hae because of his history with MT.
