  1. Pacioretty - Desharnais - Gallagher (Playing too well to break up) Bourque - Plekanec - Gionta (Bourque going to the net is what this line needs) Chucky - Eller - Ryder (was tried, but was very, very short... I think the two playmakers with Ryder will work) Prust - Halpern - Moen/Armstrong Extra White If we are ever 100% healthy... but that remains to be seen.
  2. He's been snake bit a bit in New York Offensively. The team's shooting percentage when he is on the ice is like 2.7%.... this is ridiculously low, and is unlikely to continue. When you see a number like this (over a small sample size ie less than 30 games) its likely a result of luck, and should revert back to the mean. His offense is definitely due to pickup.
  3. Its also a stupid system. The diamond formation on the PK doesn't work. Last year they played the box and it works much better... especially against the cross ice pass that is killing us.
  4. He wasn't part of the conference final team. He was part of the 10-11 team. Kill penalties and play 4th line minutes.
  5. I don't see Galchenyuk sitting for more than a game or two. Even though he isn't scoring, the line with Eller continues to be dangerous. Besides that, the chances of having 100% health is small. There will always be one guy who is banged up.
  6. I'd play him on the 4th line over Ryan White. I've never liked White at Centre, with his lack of footspeed and lack of vision, I think he's a winger. Blunden likely (after tonight's game as Halpern won't play tonight). Dumont once the team is healthy. Halpern is also good on the PK and we need that.
  7. A look back at the career of Alex Kovalev. Like all good artists, he was misunderstood. http://lastwordonsports.com/2013/03/23/alex-kovalev-lartiste-says-goodbye/
  8. Statement game by Tokarski to his former team. Musta felt good.
  9. He can't go back to school. Once you sign an ATO or PTO, you are no longer eligible for NCAA hockey The reason he gets an ATO and not a ELC to go along with it, is that he's not a prime college free agent. He truly is getting a tryout with the Bulldogs and trying to earn a deal for next season.
  10. I agree. But contracts signed after a certain date don't take effect until next season... so the PTO is the contract you can use to get him in the lineup right now. Maybe it needs a different name, but it is what it is.
  11. Subban for Norris Voters won't hold a black man down anymore, see Obama. We just gotta go to the Urban centres and get the vote out.
  12. Kristo scored a goal but ND was eliminated in the QF of their conference tourney, losing 4-3 in OT However ND is a virtual lock to get an at large bid for the National title tourney so the season isn't over.
  13. Kaberle and Komi are both disasters defensively. Kaberle can pass the puck, Komi can't... and Kaberle is 250K cheaper. No trade.
  14. Some articles I've done. What players are available in terms of UFA rentals. here is the Calgary Flames piece. http://lastwordonsports.com/2013/03/21/catching-fire-calgary-trade-deadline-shopping/ The rest... so far... Columbus had available for UFA rentals. Next we looked at why injuries will really hamper Florida’s ability to sell their UFAs, and followed that up with looks at the Buffalo Sabres, the Colorado Avalanche, the Edmonton Oilers, the Washington Capitals and the Tampa Bay Lightning.
  15. The two way contract starts next year the PTO is so they can play this season.
  16. Rychel is liked cause he's a first class A-Hole to go along with his 2nd round talent.... so that makes him a late first.
  17. The best guys will be signing two way NHL contracts in conjunction with the PTO. (the PTO to play in the AHL this year, the 2 way to start next season). This isn't an issue. They aren't showing their wares. They are signed.
  18. The two guys the Habs are rumored to be in the mix for are Sustr and Laganiere. Although we are one of many teams sniffing around for both those guys.
  19. I'd argue that Subban is our version of this, but he's so skilled from the back end, we'll never want to use him on wing.
  20. What the signing does, and the options for the coming logjam at centre. http://lastwordonsports.com/2013/03/18/up-the-gut-the-canadiens-logjam-at-centre/
  21. Yes, they go back into the draft after 2 years. If they still don't sign, they become UFAs after 4 years. Same lenght of time for free agency as College kids, the 2nd time being drafted is the only difference.
  22. Hartzell seems to be the biggest name, and the best of the bunch, but this crop isn't as ggood as previous years IMO.
