  1. I doubt with McCabe being the second leading scorer in the league that JF Jr would let him go, and we already know that Lindros won't play in the province of Quebec unless its for a visiting team....every remember him getting booed here people? A ###### Tie Domi. He becomes a habs, I find a new team. THat guy is ######in junk.
  2. Leave the Habs alone for now. Let them get better without ######ing with the team. And please, oh please god, no Owen Nolan. Why the hell would you even suggest that? And no way in hell would I trade Hainsey, Rivet or Souray for Niniima. [Edited on 2005/10/22 by kaos]
  3. The Habs are fine, leave them alone for now, and let them get better
  4. Fleury is only 20. I think he should be given some time to develop. Maybe he has struggled a little this year, but so has Theodore, Khabibulan, Brodeur and a number of other number 1 goalies around the league. Hes better off in the AHL, getting max playing time, and without the pressure whether he's playing well or not. In three years, this guy will be the next Luongo, or maybe even better. I hope so anyways, I've got about 8 different rookie cards of his...lol
  5. Undoubtley they will get better. They are a young team, and it is only 7 games into the season.
  6. I betcha Perrault isn't making more than a few hundred thousand more and it would have been worth the investment, and since Montreal has plenty of room under the cap, it wouldn't have made a difference. Perreault could play the wing on the fourth line, so a jam a center wouldn't be an issue, and would only play center on important faceoffs. A skating coach isn't going to help Dagenais at this point in his career. When Zednik comes back, Dagenais is history, unless there happens to be some other injury, and the Habs need a body
  7. YEah I think Higgins could be a good fit on this line, if he could get any sort of practice time and game time with them. I guess Julien will have to make some big decisions when Zednik comes back. Maybe Zednik on the third line with Bonk to try and help generate some offence there? That leaves Perezhogin on the number one line, which seems to have worked well, and Higgins for the second line. Drop Bulis to the 4th line.
  8. This thread brings about a good question though. Wouldn't it have been better to have kept Yanic Perreault, and not Pierre Dagenais? Neither is physical or very fast, but atleast Yanic was usefull for something, winning faceoffs. He also has 3 points this year. 3 more than Pierre has. Oh well, I guess hindsight is always 20-20
  9. Strength doesn't have a whole lot to do with faceoffs actually. Its mostly eye to hand co-ordination. Just look at Yanic Perreault. Generally considered to be the premier faceoff man in the league, and not physical at all. Ribeiro has very good eye to hand co-ordination, and if he had any drive he could probably practice and become a decent faceoff guy
  10. The only reason Doan may be a lock is because Gretzky is his coach in Pheonix
  11. Who wasn't named to that list, its huge. You could easily eliminate 15 to 20 players as they won't make it. Cloutier, Turco, Joseph and Ward as goalies Boynton, Dejardins, Stuart, Jackman, MOrris as Defensman Oldendyke, Allison, Arnott, BErtuzzi, Horcoff, Doan, Neidermayer, Walker, Walz, SHannahan, Chouinard, Savard, Briere, and Bouchard as forwards .........would be a good start.
  12. Quote What is 'baseball' and how does it involve the canadiens? Damn. No sense trying to top americans when it comes to marketing spunk. We should kick it old school: all organ, all the time! End Quote For someone who wants to get away from what Americans do, your line "kick it old school" is as American as it gets.
  13. Yes that could make for some very interesting reading. I'd like to know what made them Montreal Canadiens fans, how popular is the NHL where their from. Excellent idea
  14. Do you really need a song to get you pumped up before the game? You should be fired up already. As for after scoring a goal, are you really worried about what song there playing, or are you too busy cheering?
  15. Ok Mr Genious, then what are you proposing in return for Mike Ribeiro and Pierre Dagneais? Exactly who do you think the Montreal Canadiens can get for these two guys right now, that will help them anymore than the players currently on their roster? And I so glad you in favour of the Hossa trade. What a disaster so far. Marcel Hossa. 3 goals 3 assists and a +2 in 7 games. Garth Murray. 2 GP in Hamilton 0 points and -2. IF we can get Garth Murray for Hossa I can only imagine what we can get for Dagenais...hes gotta be worth a Franchise Defensman atleast!!!! Wow what a steal, he's certainly dead weight. I certainly glad your not Montreal GM. We'd be back to the Houle years. No. I would just leave this team alone. Give them time to develop their chemistry. Realize Mark Napier, that these guys haven't played together in over year. If you've ever played hockey, you'd realize it takes time to learn your linemated, and try and predict what their going to do, and where their going to be on the ice. Give them 15 or 20 games to sort themselves out. If you wanna make a move, waive Pierre Dagenais...he is absolutley worthless in the new NHL. Theres a reason he doesn't have a point. He's outdated. But please do me one favour and answer my question. Who do you honestly think Montreal can get in the trade that your proposing????
  16. They have no trade value because Dagenais sucks, he too slow with no physical presence, and right now Ribeiro is playing like shit. RIght now you couldn't give Dagenais away. He would clear waivers if Montreal decided to send him down. And Ribeiro wouldn't attract much more than a depth defensman. What happened in '03 was in 2003. And what happened in Jr hockey with these two isn't going to happen again, this is the NHL. So no, there won't be a trade of Dagenais and Ribeiro for a decent defensman I could understand if Montreal was 1-5 or 0-6, but there 4-2 right now. Why make a trade? WHy not wait for maybe 25 games into the season and see where the team is. Even better, why mess with team chemistry and make a trade this year. There should be plenty of room next year under the cap, with Hossa and Dagenais history, to make a move on a free agent. Leave the team alone for now. Lets let the team adjust and get better. 17. Definiltey a player you want on your squad come playoff time. A Darcey Tucker, Matthew Barnaby type player but with class.
  18. I disagree. I think Montreal did lose that game because of Theodore. I think the Allison goal and that second Lindros goal were very stopable shots. Komisarek should also have helped tie up Lindros's stick on the game winner. Having said that, I don't think its time to panic with Theodore yet. He is the number one goalie. But if he stuggles in the next game, I think Danis should get the following start.
  19. Yeah its very sluggish and slow to get scores in, stats updated ect.,ect. I guess the statisticians are trying to shake of the rust of the lockout as well?
  20. YEah, not a bad article. Some honest insight into Ribeiro, Dagenais, Souray, Bonk and some of the others. The team definitley needs to get better defensively, and Theodore, needs to start playing way better. Although being only 4/5 games into the season, its only a brief glimse of whats to come, and its a long, long season. [Edited on 2005/10/15 by kaos]
  21. Almost makes me wish Beckham was back here to try and defend himself, saying that Danis couldn't handle the NHL, THeodore wasn't good enough, Montreals goaltending was in trouble. Yeah? Hows a 4-1 record. HA. Way to go Danis. That should shut up all your non-believers....BIG TIME
  22. Ivanans may be big, but that doesn't necessarily equate to being a good fighter. I watched him in about 20 games last year in Hamilton and don't recall him pummelling anyone, nor do I recall a clear decision in his favour in any fight. Although I can't say he was cleary beaten except once by Nathan Perrot of the Leafs, who was easily the better fighter. There were other Bulldogs I was more impressed with like Benjamin Carpentier last year. Having said that, do the Habs need a goon? Isn't the spot better given to someone who can contribute in more than one way, and play more minutes. If need be, someone like Mike Komisarek, Craig Rivet, Steve Begin (kinda small) or bless his delicate hands Sheldon Souray can handle the little fighting thats left in the NHL now. TSN has a stat last night that threw Monday or Tuesday night there had only been 29 Fighting Majors called. THats down from like 85 fighting majors five years ago. Its Just not a part of the game like it used to be. I'd rather see Plekanac, Higgins and Perezhogin play more time when Zednik comes back and not dress Ivanans.
  23. Yeah there are slots and not sure whatelse at the racetrack there. There also Flamborough Downs, one out in Brantford as well as Casino Rama in Orilla.
  24. Woodbine Slots. If you can get there, they usually have all the feeds in there sports betting room. If that don't work, find a phone book and call some local bars and ask
  25. Atleast Beckham usually had something interesting to say, or atleast understood what was being said in an interview.
