  1. Weber scared me a couple of times, Gomez needs to get his 1st goal soon cuz the season could quickly become a copy of last year, where was MaxPac, thank God we drafted Carey Price & injuries are KILLING us!!!
  2. I just noticed Craig Rivet is listed as UFA!
  3. i wanna puke. i know its just 1 game, and i know the Maples will be looking up at the Habs the standings by the end of the year - but this sucks.
  4. Its boring to agree but u guys r right - solid 1st period - team looks very well organized and ready for the season. Just gotta score!
  5. can't wait til gametime - does anyone know where i can find the game in the US, either via stream or TV?
  6. 44-27-11 for 99 pts and 5th in the east, and 12th overall and 231 goals.
  7. so ... all preseason fears wiped away now with that win?
  8. just wondering - what are you saying about the fine people of New Jersey?
  9. maybe Muller thinks Martin is going to be the Head Coach for a long time, and that the Vancouver HC job is just 1 season away from being his
  10. been good - thx! and ya, has been a while - i've been quiet, but never really gone! to keep my post with the theme ... with Brewer signed at just under 4 mil for 4 years, does this tell us what Wiz is worth, and therefore let the Habs know if they can afford Jagr?
  11. when the Habs resigned Plex, i never realized he was this respected by players like Jagr. makes me even happier that Plex is locked up, whether or not Jagr joins him!
  12. totally agree - Nashville/Dallas or Nashvile/St.Louis makes perfect sense (although it's unfortunate Nashville & Atlanta never could get a rivalry going, since there already exists a natural rivalry between those cities)
  13. so many angles to division re-alignment, i'll only speak to the angle i'm aware of: i would be surprised if they separated Nashville from Detroit --- kinda depends on how much pressure Detroit is really leveraging to try and get east. the red wings are considered to be their best rivalry (although i doubt any red wing fan would reciprocate that sentiment), and nashville is really an nhl success story, one that i'm sure the league would not want to damage. we continue to consider nashville to be soft in terms of attendance, but they were 21st in the NHL, averaging 16,142 per game --- hardly soft. i attended a game in nashville last season, and i was amazed at the hockey energy there was in that rink --- i had been totally expecting the fans to be ... well ...
  14. minor adjustments, but i like the new look. now, off to test it on the smartphone!
  15. Gomez was AMAZING! make sure u find BOTH parts of the interview
  16. seems like the spirit of Pierre the Great has re-entered HW! *shudders*
  17. i like shootouts in the regular season, not in the playoffs. why? because it IS a different game in the playoffs. the intensity is at a completely different level in post-season play. 4 bad games in a row, and ur done. in the regular season, a 4 game slump is bad, but we all know it is what it is, a slump. shootouts add intensity and interest. and its not just to US markets. i'm a Canadian and i like being put on the end of my seat for what would otherwise just be the end of another ordinary game. the shootout can make the dullest of games exciting. i don't need that extra 'gimmick' in the playoffs because every minute is so crucial. but face it - in the regular season, a loss is easily overcome by 81 other games. ur talking about the 7th or 8th seeds getting access to the playoffs because of the shootout? even in this past playoff which was extremely unusual, in the end, no 7th or 8th seeded team won the cup. the best teams find a way to win ... eventually. and they can handle a few 'silly' shoot-out losses and still make the post-season. advertisers (even Canadian ones) & TV stations (even Canadian ones) like the predictability of the timing of the game's end. i'm all for the tradition of the game, and the fact 'it was good enough for 85 years' argument, but just because we were fine before, doesn't mean we aren't better off now.
  18. the shootout is great TV. its entertaining - and that's what hockey is supposed to be. can't play all night like we would in the playoffs. but, i do wish they would stop rewarding the loser with 1 point. winner take 2, loser take 0 ... no ties. ever. i'll go to bed elated or i'll go to be devastated ... but never 'meh - at least we got a point'
  19. this is worth restating ---- AMAZING explanation.
  20. Gomez - he just seems like the captain to me
  21. where are things at with David Fischer? still Habs property?
