I love this deal and that Petry took less than market value to sign here. It says a lot for the attitude that Montreal has created in their locker room. I do have to think that Gilbert is now expendable and will be flipped for a draft pick to replace one used to acquire Petry.

I think this compensation thing is BS. If you fire a coach, it makes no sense to receive compensation if someone else hires that coach.

My buddy who's a Sens fan says that Karlsson has been playing through a nagging injury for months, and has missed a lot of practices.

Very sad news indeed. It's amazing what the Sens accomplished even before you consider the emotional hardships they were all enduring to some degree. But if there was ever any doubt that we were facing a Team of Destiny, there ain't now.

Patch practicing on the first PP wave at practice this morning. He's wearing a regular practice jersey, but no contact drills yet. He's also wearing a slightly tinted visor.
