shortcat1
i just saw a volvo add where bunnies in green grass toggled back and forth to being what looked like rats in a graveyard... the volvo's are also treated like the beatlemania beatles, they fall from the sky in parachutes, i think they even get tomatoes thrown at them... that's supposed to sell a volvo? the motto for the ad is 'volvo c30... what do you think?' what do i think? what's that got to do with the car itself? might as well get a naked girl spread out all over the hood - at least that would be more 'eye-catching'... Pierre the Great
that's because the c30 is a big deal for volvo. It's a car that's going to change the way people think about Volvo. I'll try to find that ad on youtube so I can see what you're talking about.

Pierre the Great
Found it c30 is more geared towards the GTI crowd. Basically its a car that tells the world 'we can build something cool' For example I would love to have a c30. I think they are awesome looking. Now I'm a 20 almost 21 year old white male. Usually you think of upper class snobs when you think of volvo. This car changes that point of view.

Pierre the Great
lol the c30 is a 'cool car' when was the last time you could say that about a volvo. Personally I'd but a Citroën C4 but alas they'll never be sold over here.

I like your style !! hey shortcat, if you're french, listen to CKAC730 during a hockey game, there's a commercial about island ink jet...the worst ever...and it's always the same 4 people doing most of the CKAC730 commercials...they suck so bad. the wierdest-worst commercial I've seen was a cough medecin commercial we're you saw a "president" asking an intern to do what she's supposed to do but the young girl replied that she couldn't due to a sore throat. I'm aware that it was meant to be a bad commercial but I never saw something so tasteless since we're in the topic of commercial. my favourite all-time is the first VIAGRA commercial. and I thought at first that the guy was going at MCdonalds....really caught me offguard !!! RobRock
The one that gets under my skin the most is the Moore's ad for their big and tall suits, the one where the guy repeatedly smacks his head, off his shower curtain rod, the top of the elevator door, a hallway exit sign, and a ceiling-mounted projector. The guy smacks his head on the shower curtain rod in his own home. Is he that stupid that he doesn't know what's holding up the shower curtain, and that maybe he should duck when he gets out? Or does he hit his head so often, it has led to a degenerative brain impairment which causes the affected to; 1. suffer from constant memory lapses; 2. alter his vision to the point where he can't see anything above his normal eyeline; 3. lose the ability to duck beneath or around low-hanging objects, which in turn contribute to the disorder. Translation: Moore's suits make you stupid. DO NOT BUY THEM IF YOU WISH TO RETAIN ANY NORMAL BRAIN FUNCTION!!!!
jetsniper
Agreed on the Moore's one, I've thought the same one. Even for the office, you'd think he'd pick up on those things. Wouldn't he have to duck to sit under that projector in the first place? I really hate that DQ ad for popcorn shrimp. Where the shrimp is eating "popcorn" and then they wonder where their kids are. Yeah, it's really stupid and I hate it.

huzer
HEAD ON - Apply directly to the forehead HEAD ON - Apply directly to the forehead HEAD ON - Apply directly to the forehead Those are horrible. I can think way back to when the Infiniti brand was launched, and all of their ads were just still pictures of trees/lakes/mountains/etc...and not once did they ever show the car. I also can't stand ANY food ad where they over-amplify the sound of people eating. Carl's Jr is horrible about people "crunching" into a hamburger. Detesting. beliveau1
There was a gum commercial a few years ago - can't remember the name of it - that featured a girl who slapped a guy who was looking at another girl walking by. She just hauled off and clobbered him. They had just pulled some other commercials off the air for questionable content, yet this one was allowed to run for quite a while. Double standard if you ask me - can you imagine the controversy if the guy had hit her? There was another one for some other product more recently that had the similar, but it was yanked after a few days. There are a couple of other ones too - that Fed Ex or whatever courier one that is going on - we have to ship a box to '????' and the 2 absolute jackasses are in a state of total and utter moronic stupidity over how to do it. What an insult that one is to office workers..... A lot of other stupid ones - some of them make you want to shoot the bloody tv screen every time they come on!!!!!
