V Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 two words: WE SUCK! if they keep playing like this... Bruins in 4 Quote
DJ_Laszlo Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 2-0 Boston - Gonchar is playing at his best. Canadiens have faced 20+ shots this period. We are being ######ED. I'm going to bed - this game is lost, I'm afraid. If Raycroft shuts us out his confidence will get huge, and we'll get swept. It's as easy as that. good night [Edited on 2004/4/7 by DJ_Laszlo] Quote
huzer Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 Julien better give a thrashing between periods. That was horrid. Quote
Ribeiro Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 Told you Julien shouldn't of f*cked with the lines. Quote
puck7x Posted April 7, 2004 Author Posted April 7, 2004 I feel sick after watching that period. Bruins up 2-0, outshot us 23-9 ... No that is not a typo, Bruins got 23 shots in the first... Thats around their average for a game... CJ needs to light a fire, even if we dont come back and win this game, we need to carry momentum (whatever we can get) into game-2 ... Quote
Ribeiro Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 Let's not get pessimistic guys, it's only the 1st period of the 1st game. Young, nervous guys. They'll come back. At least Souray is shooting. Quote
Guy10 Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 Bostons on track to get close to 70 shots by the end....what a truely dissapointing period. what a Downer Quote
simonus Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 boston ain't getting 70 shots. Montreal just needs to calm down and tigthen up the holes they were opening Quote
Prime Minister Koivu Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 Just got home from work. 2-0 bruins........23 shots!!!!!! ###### we must be sucking pretty bad so far. Quote
Fanpuck33_ Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 So we're getting killed and SurferNetwork is telling me it no longer carries CJAD. ARG! Quote
Prime Minister Koivu Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 e look pretty good in the second so far. Lots of chances....playing pretty good defensively. we are not out yet. :ghg: Quote
Ribeiro Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 WTF!? Koivu was on a 2 on 1 breakaway and the other player just fell on him and kind of grabbed him. The NHL HAS TO FIX THIS SHIT. You can't be tackling someone on the breakaway. EDIT: I saw the replay. The player tried to grab Koivu's skate. BTW, who was the fool who just lost control of the puck on the PP and it rolled off side? [Edited on 2004/4/8 by Ribeiro] Quote
V Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 the second period is much better than the first... BUT its still 2-0 and still losing... Quote
Ribeiro Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 I'm pissed off. Cheap assholes. That was a penalty when he rammed Koivu from behind. Send Langdon to beat the shit out of someone. Quote
V Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 well, i am not watching anymore.. the game is done.. 3+ to 0 Boston... Habs aint coming back... just aweful... what happened to the lines that worked for the 10-1-1 streak that we were on? Quote
puck7x Posted April 8, 2004 Author Posted April 8, 2004 2nd over... 3-0 Bruins... Lets just get out of this game healthy, have a good first (break the shutout) then come out strong for game-2... Its about the best we can hope for at this point barring a miracle. Quote
Ribeiro Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 Habs aint coming back... just aweful... what happened to the lines that worked for the 10-1-1 streak that we were on? See, most of us agreed that Julien shouldn't mess with the lines before the playoffs. They worked well, why change them? Obviously Julien doesn't get the concept of not fixing things that aren't broken. The Habs scored with those lines, know they can't even buy a goal. Quote
Prime Minister Koivu Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 We are working hard but the bruins are pounding us severely. all I can hope is we find an answer and apply it to game two. :ghg: Quote
Spider-Man NL Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 3-0 ,<img src=http://metroboards.com/forums/metrofolder/teamsmilies/bos2.gif> at the end of 2 periods of play. <img src=http://www.pass-the-puck.com/forums/html/emoticons/pooh.gif Shots on goal <img src=http://metroboards.com/forums/metrofolder/teamsmilies/bos2.gif> 34 :hlogo: 17 :ghg: Quote
spent Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 Well, we lost. I thought they played a lot better in the third though. Kovalev was sloppy tonight.... Well, that's my two cents. :ghg: Quote
Prime Minister Koivu Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 We win game two and we are right back in it. CJ needs to do something about offence. Ryder played hardly at all. We will see how CJ answers in the next game. Quote
Ribeiro Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 CJ will handle this by screwing with the lines again. My opinions: The Good: Perreault with a few good breaks Souray looks like he's getting his shot back Begin playing great The Bad: Kovalev/Zednik should step up as our strong offensive players Powerplay Not enough big hits Quote
Bonavistaman11 Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 When teams put in that kind of effort, they get put out in 4.....That first game was so important and the team blew it, it was an awful effort. Hey, on the bright side its was only game one, and now IMO game two has to be a must win for the Habs. Where the hell was the playoff INTENSITY in this game??? Boston killed em..... I think we need a good fixture of Komisaurus for the next game! He could be a key ingredient in beating the Bruins. :ghg: Quote
RJP Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 Pathetic tonight, no other words to describe this embarassment. Bruins pounded us all night and we responded like the girls we are. All us so-called experts who thought we had speed - Boston had the speed!!!! They were on top of us so fast, guys like Quintal looked lost. Habs speed, my ass!!! This was humiliating. Julien got totally out-classed and out-prepared. If Boston keeps playing the way they did tonight, there is absolutely nothing Montreal can do to counter it. They are way too soft up front, pushed around like flies. Quintal needs to sit and the way Souray played, he should too. Kovalev is still playing in la la land. Put in Komisarek, Langdon, and Dykhuis and move Rivet up front. Sit Quintal and any two pussies that played tonight, maybe Perrault and Dagenais. I hope Good Friday is not an omen. Habs need to stay alive!!!! Quote
Fanpuck33_ Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 I think I am glad the game wasn't on here in the states, I don't think I could have handled watching this game. I will never understand how a team can come out so flat in the first game of a playoff series. There's no excuse for this. Quote
