Ribeiro
The slash on Kovalev may have been a penalty in regulation time, but everyone knows that nothing is called in OT unless it takes away a scoring chance. Kovalev (a hand injury or not) is a veteran and he knows this. He should have made an effort to neutralize the puck (fall on it or kick it out of harm's way). You're missing the whole psychological part of this. When someone feels a sudden burst of pain, they react to it instantly. An example would be when you get burnt by hot water. You instantly flinch and pull away without thinking about it.
Habinator33
I know seasons not over but heres my wish for next years top two lines. Zednik-Koivu-Kovalev Kastsitsyn-Ribeiro-Ryder(PLEASE!!!!!!) anyways I think this team is going to have a good future. These blowing games will improve after the team gets some more experience gotta remember we are an extremely young team which is pretty awesome since were just going to get better and better. With the right moves we could become a contender. With those top 2 lines i think all we would miss is a 3rd line Center whose Physical/big/faceoff specialist, 1 more defensemen, and 1 more Begin can we clone him? to make us a contender. It's almost a torture watching them lose control of the puck and have it cleared by the Bruins. The Bruins would be dead if the Habs could utilize their Powerplay. I'm hoping for a Mighty Ducks/Hurricanes/Wild miracle performance. How sad is that? :nono: Thats what i have been saying all season I don't understand how we were once ranked 7th we rarely ever have possesion for more then 10 seconds and half the time we can never even enter the zone. puck7x
Well I just got back from the game, and am exhausted. My thoughts : Habs had all the chances in the world to win this game, first we were up 3-1... And had many chances to make it a bigger margin, but we failed... Then we let the Bruins back into the game and its 3-2 ... Then with under a minute left we let them tie it up, after we lose another draw... ugh ... Then in OT, we get chance after chance, but Raycroft keeps shutting the door. We even got a PP in OT, but we failed to score... Habs have no one to blame for the lose tonight but themselves... but saying that, the refs did another miserable job tonight... disgusting. Oh yeah... Tonight I got a Ribeiro bandana.... and he scored 2 goals [Edited on 2004-4-14 by puck7x]
habsfan_69
montreal played a great game till the last minute i dunno why julien didnt put perrault out and boston scores to tie it. then in OT montreal smokes the bruins and just cant score how many chances does zednik koivu kovy etc need to score 1 goal then on a 2 hand slash and a collision montreals series goes down the shitter. julien said it right that was a shitty way to loose i couldnt be more dissapointed:wall::wall:

Well, I was "inspired" by Kelly Hrudey, who said that Kovalev should have "protected the puck" or at least "got out of Souray's way." Personally, I would have reacted just like Kovalev did, but Hrudey has played the game and so who am I to question him? No. We didn't lose because of Theodore. There is one thing that has been keeping the Habs from winning:The Powerplay. You have to admit, if the Habs had a decent PP, they would have won this game. Yeah, you're right about the PP. But I think you also must admit that Raycroft has outplayed Theo and Theo has let in about one bad goal per game. So there are at least two reasons for their demise. Any others? Bonavistaman11
Tonight was a total dissapointment in the end....For so long it looked like we would tie this series and have the momentum Going back to Boston...In the end were down 3-1 with Bruins stealing every bit of momentum with a chance to close it out on home ice... Is there Any chance that we can win this series now?? Yes, but it will take one Hell of an effort... Everybody should keep faith in the boys, we owe it to em after a great season and even a round of Playoff hockey that no one expected to see!!! :ghg::ghg::ghg:
habsfan_69
if we are gonna pull this one out some guys gotta start poppin em in like ryder and zed those 2 guys get more chances to score than boston. we out play em every game (accept game 1 ) and we can never seem to close the deal. i dunno if montreal can win 3 in a row 2 in boston. this one was devistating. Ribeiro
The Habs will win the next game. Just because it's likely. They have absolutely nothing to lose. Get injured, so what? The season is over if they lose. Everything is down the crapper, they are now completely the underdogs. Nothing to lose. Oh yeah... Tonight I got a Ribeiro bandana.... and he scored 2 goals Does Ribeiro wear a bandana? I never see him with one. Is that what those red and white things people had over their heads were? I thought they were Canadian flags. :?-

JLP
Hear Hear habsfan, keep the faith, let's go in and kick their ass, bring it back to Mtl and see what happens. And take a page from their book -- if it goes to overtime slash and trip at will. :hlogo::hlogo::ghg::hlogo::hlogo:
ch_nl
I have examined the highlight all morning and I have two three things to say. 1. We are not out! The series will come back to Montreal. Canadiens played well. Rycrofts wall will fall. Zednik will get a goal. Komisarek will be inspired. Perreault will win some faceoffs and Theodore will show us that he is the better goalie in this matchup. 2. Kovalev scored again. Sign him after this season. And on Bruins game winner, it was slashing. A clear call. The refs are terrible. 3. Boston had a goal in nets when we all thought it was the post. So in a way their victory makes sense. Prime Minister Koivu
Regardless of what happened in the OT, we never would have been there if Theo hadn't let in the first two SOFT goals. Every sports highlight show I have watched is calling them soft. Theo has been soft all series long. Take away those soft goals and the Habs are up 3-1 in this series. Start Garon (it won't happen) he couldn't possibly do any worse.
huzer
At least Souray agrees with my comments: And Souray was cutting Kovalev no slack. "I saw he got slashed," Souray said. "Maybe it should be a penalty, but do you stop playing? In double overtime? They had already called a penalty against him, they're going to let you play at that point. I was just caught by surprise that he left the puck there and there was nobody behind him. So obviously, you want to go back and get the puck." It's just sooooo disappointing that this great game ending with such a goofy play. Then again, if Theo stops the unscreened 60 footer by Slegr... Then again, if Theo stops the unscreened 60 footer by Slegr... Actually the Slegr one he was screened on by Bouillon and there wasn't another player for a mile. Bouillon even moves his leg at the last second making it look like he's going to block it but doesn't he should've either gotten out of the way or just wen tdown on the ice to block the shot. The Glen Murray shot which tied the game that Knuble scored on that was unscreened but Markov got over worked and Theodore was sitting to far in the net on a play like that gotta be out by where a deflection would've happened. Anyways the puck sat there for a second just enough time for him to pounce on it but he failed to do so. Anyways what Kovalev did was stupid last night but I still want a top foward back for next season and he seems like the only chance we get one so mine as well offer him a contract as long as it's a bit less from last season. He definitly can't go out asking for more after this season and then costing a team a game in the playoffs.(although it never should've gotten close to that). huzer
It is a shame that one of the best players on the ice last night blew the big one for the OT winner. It was also nice to see him go over to Markov while he was on the ice after the first hit (shoulda been an elbowing on Thornton, but at least Dagenais got away with a flying elbow on Gonchar a little later). I try to hold out for 30 seconds - don't flinch, don't even grab your wrist. Souray looked like the idiot to me running into Kovalev. huzer
I've been injured enough playing sports, football and hockey primarily. The only times I was stopped dead in my tracks was when I get drilled in the head with a puck while blocking a shot, and when I snapped my ankle in 5 places. So sure, go ahead, let me get in full gear, and you can take a one handed whack at my gloved hand (yes the stick hit his glove). I guarantee I won't stop dead in my tracks shaking my hand. In fact, that happened to me about 3 weeks ago, when I got a 2 hander on my glove. All I did was whack back and got the retaliation slashing penalty when the other guy's stick broke. Plain and simple, Kovalev screwed up on that play, I don't care if he got a stinger. Nothing's broken, you're a pro playing in double OT in the playoffs. Suck it up. rocketrichard
Game 4's over and now Game 5 is coming up on Thursday. We need Ryder to take a big step up and hope to god that Begin is ready. We need another big game from Ribs and if we get it we'll have no problem with game 5.:hlogo::hlogo::hlogo::hlogo::hlogo:
