MMPL
Pretty grabage hockey, but thta's what I expected for first game of the year. Nice goal by Lang. Price has been sharp. :ghg:
saskhab
The Habs' passing right now is autrocious, but I think the ice is pretty bad. Lots of bouncing pucks.
saskhab
Damn... that was close. nice pass by Plex to Hamr and Lydman stops it on the line.

saskhab
Pretty quite here tonite. Anyone else liking that Sergei - Lang - Kostopoulos line? Liking Lang and Sergei, Tom's job is pretty simple. He's given a couple of random whacks at the puck on some nice set ups that haven't paid off.
saskhab
Soft play in the breakout by Kovy leads to about 4 Buffalo chances off the turnover. Come on, guys. Get your head in it.

rafikz
Pretty quite here tonite. Anyone else liking that Sergei - Lang - Kostopoulos line? I was skeptical, but I like it. Lang is wayyyyyyyyyyy better than Smokes Little #### has got to be one of the top passers in the NHL Koivu is intense tonight. Kovalev is out of rhythm. BBois still sucks Edited October 11, 2008 by rafikz
brboo
Hopefully they can put it all together for one period and come away with the win. The way the first 2 periods have gone 1-1 after 2 doesn't seem too bad. Edited October 11, 2008 by brboo
Fanpuck33
O'Byrne and Tanguay not have a good game. D in general looks a step slow. Lang's line has been impressive. Just think when Higgins gets back!

Jean
Are you f'ing kidding? No. Who else besides us is remotely likeable in the NE? 'Ruins, Leafs? The games are against them are always entertaining, lot of action and no dirty hits. As it should be. -- Obviously the guys are rusty but it's getting better as the game goes on. No worries. I love the Kosto-Lang-S.Kost line.
saskhab
The Koivu line never seemed to be all out there at the same time in the 2nd... or at least they were so badly out of synch that you didn't notice all 3 out there. Koivu looks sharp but Tanguay didn't, and Latendresse has seemingly been bounced around a bit. Lang finally gave that PP some purpose late in the 2nd. Kovalev keeps missing high, but he'll do that. I just forgot how often it happens.

saskhab
Just remembered how I handled last year at the beginning of the season... I was rather blaise about the whole thing and said I wouldn't pass judgement on anything/anyone until 8 games were up (10% of the season). It worked out quite well for me personally, but the Habs were fairly good out of the gate as well. I'll try and do the same thing this year. Let everyone get their rhythm. But Begin, that was just lazy.

TheAussiePosse
I'm guessing Begin really likes the Bell Centre hot dogs, and would rather spend the rest of the season in the press box than play another minute on the ice. Stupid, stupid penalties.

saskhab
At least that ends up being just a double minor (4 minutes of 5 on 4). If it had been two different players, it would've been a 2 minute 5 on 3.
saskhab
That steal by Komi in front of Price was brilliant. Clutch play and a huge kill.

TheAussiePosse
Hopefully the PP is more tired than our PK. It's not too early in the season for heroes - if Begin ever sees the ice sheet again, he'd be best off scoring a goal for every minute he was in the box. I think that would make amends.
